Used your set up this morning in Edmonds. Followed the tutorial. Was great. Limited in 90 minutes. Lots of action. Thanks. Hope to see you out there again sometime.
I was coho fishing on my kayak in MA10 yesterday and had the same thing as 3:04 happen to me 😆 They seem to feel inclined to bite when the bait is taking off, maybe sort of a "now or never" thing. I now retrieve my gear at a reasonable pace instead of trying to get it up as fast as possible, in case one is following. I even saw one follow all the way up to the kayak!
@@edwin6709 on the kayak, with a 6lb downrigger ball I always try to keep a 35-45 degree angle on my downrigger line no matter the depth. I don’t care that much about my actual speed because the currents and wind will mess with your speed quite a bit. Using the downrigger angle ensures you have a reasonably consistent water speed relative to the current and wind.

Hoping to head out of Mukilteo tomorrow!
Planning to go on Thursday and fish the low tide! In area 10 been seeing them at 300ft of water at 50’ on the wire. Is that the same in mukilteo?
What does 35 on the wire mean for speed?
