Awesome! We managed to pick up an 8.5 pounder during the derby but got back too late for weigh-in. Lessons learned for the upcoming Everett derby haha. Hope to see you out there - tight lines!
Why in the world would you throw back wild fish that are legal to catch, on the off chance that you might catch larger hatchery ones? That makes no sense to me at all. I would've taken the fish that you guys caught, gotten your limits and been off the water in an hour or two just in time for breakfast.
@@nw_angler I mean that completely contradicts your comments in the description of the video of… “I haven't been able to get out as much as I want this year due to some schedule conflicts. The days I have had free have, of course, been bad weather.”
@@nw_angler If by one of “those” guys, you mean someone that has some common sense then sure, I’m one of “those” guys. To me, it’s just fun being out fishing, catching and actually keeping fish. I don’t need to catch the biggest one as I’m more than happy with catching little 7-8 lb silvers and am not necessarily trying to win a derby. I’m also a numbers guy in that the likelihood of winning a derby is pretty slim. So yes, throwing back fish to maybe catch bigger ones is quite absurd, as I’ve been fishing for over 30 years now and realize the bite can be on one minute and gone the next. Also, you could’ve always kept 3 and then held out for that “derby winner” you were hoping to catch 😏😉
Nice job fellas! 😃🤜💥🐟

Are you guys fishing the Everett derby too?

@nw_angler good luck on second place, then. We will be in First place! Lol. Maybe we will see you out there

@@65FASTBACKMAN-dx9ge we have full stocks of fish in our freezers. We were interested in winning or placing in the derby. Fishing for fun, not food.
