We somehow got mixed up in a high-powered religious family, a family that draws the adoration of hundreds, maybe even thousands of Pakistani muslims. They invited me to their monthly gathering, which felt more like a meet and greet at a Justin Beiber concert. I've never seen anything like that in my entire life. I almost didn't even film it, as i was getting over a nasty bout of food poisoning the couple days before this, and didn't expect this event to be very interesting. But as soon as we pulled up, I knew it was going to be just the type of thing you guys would wanna see. Enjoy

I'm Muslim and From Pakistan. And trust me they are using religion for their own gain. All these stupidity has nothing to do with Islam. This is a big scam to make money. I hope gufraan and his uncle will follow right path.
This is what I often say. Pakistanis needs a thorough social revolution to redistribute wealth and power, so that those who really fight for the interests of all Pakistanis can become leaders, rather than making a few Pakistanis rich.

As a Muslim, this makes me sick. This family is the furthest thing from being Muslims or following Islamic teachings. Haha so you've come across the local variant of Islam in Pakistan. To give a bit of context, before Islam came into the Punjab/Sindh region (Sapta Sindhavah) the local religion was a form of ancestral worship whose roots go back to Indo-Aryan and Indus Valley religious practices. People would worship the ancestors of their tribe, certain individuals of importance who historically did something good to benefit their tribesmen. So that practice has carried over even after Islam came into the subcontinent. I assume these people call themselves Quraishi or Syed, an honorific title used by apparent descendants of Prophet Muhammad. So these people probably descend from lineages who were important tribes even before Islam, after their ancestors converted, they began calling themselves Syed, and so the tradition continues. People to this day come to the shrine of this man to pray, because they believe their prayers will be answered through this ancestor who is buried there.
Lots of Pakistanis here are quite displeased at this video and understandable given that strictly speaking this is not allowed in Islam. However, whether people agree with it or not, this is the way Islam is practiced by the majority of Pakistanis, particularly people from Punjab and Sindh. My conspiracy theory about this topic is that because this channel started right when covid hit , and he was traveling when the government were being asshats about traveling and officially recommended against. They did something to your channel to limit exposure to new people because they didn't want to encourage other people to travel against advisory. Which , now look back we all know was bullshit.
Same thing happened to a bunch of channels, even some well-established channels with over a million views started being throttled for exposure . Actually think there's a public statement about TH-cam even admitting this at some point.

I'm a Pakistani and I'm telling you that's exactly what that is. These people are shams and the poor/illiterate fall for their scams
Pakistan, unfortunately is a country for the elite. Whether they are religious elite, political elite, business elite etc. In case of the people u showed here, this family is the descendant of the saint who is buried in the shire. Islam in south asia spread through those saints and not through conquests. If u were in those times and u came across such a saint u would think that he is a beggar or a homeless man sitting at the corner of the street. Unfortunately, the descendants of many such saints use their legacy of spirituality and holiness to gain social and political power and influence. The uneducated masses cut their own flesh to feed these people forgetting that God is the one they should be submitting to. People like these are a a curse and cancer to our society and tainting the image of the saints' on whose names they use.

Islam in south asia spread through those saints and not through conquests. If u were in those times and u came across such a saint u would think that he is a beggar or a homeless man sitting at the corner of the street. Unfortunately, the descendants of many such saints use their legacy of spirituality and holiness to gain social and political power and influence. The uneducated masses cut their own flesh to feed these people forgetting that God is the one they should be submitting to. People like these are a a curse and cancer to our society and tainting the image of the saints' on whose names they use.
