This episode is a little weird since there’s a lot of just sitting and needing to listen to the dialogue so did my best with editing but there will be conversations not in the reaction due to not really much reaction given since we were just listening. Hopefully future episodes I will be able to edit a little better and add more dialogue for the reactions! Anyways Enjoy!
Editing is good for not showing key points, I'd recommend a review after if you wanna talk during the show lol especially if you have ppl who know and dont know about the game. Love the reactions though, yall too funny/interesting with the blind theories. Keep grinding and making us laugh!
This is random but about the factions multiplayer I don’t know why they hating on you about the multiplayer I’ve played the multiplayer since 6 years ago when I was 13 years old so you don’t have to be old to like the last of us multiplayer greatest and timeless multiplayer ever in my opinion!
Ellie reacting like that when Joel fucked that guy up was a parallel to when Sarah looked horrified at her dad for killing the old woman outside their house. It shows how Joel has changed but it shows how Ellie is different from Sarah, and quite possibly exactly what Joel needs. It also reveals more about Ellie's character - she likes that there is someone who would protect her like that, someone who would kill to save her. Especially since she lost her parents at such a young age and hasn't really ever had someone to "speak" for her or protect her, at least not in the way Joel did/will.
I think a lot of the reason for added or rearranged scenes like Sarah going around her day, Joel meeting with the FEDRA soldier, and the cold open serve decent purposes: Playing the game you get time where you are controlling Sarah, exploring the house and whatnot to work up a connection to her, but for the show they need to spend more time following her to build up to that level of connection. Then you would normally learn things by reading posters, papers, and stuff as you explore your environment so they deliver that sort of information in the added scenes: it's fungus based, Joel's works as a smuggler, etc. while cutting back the bits that are more meant for working with game mechanics like the whole Robert sequence. The core dynamics are still there and they do seem to be making decent trades - like the truck crash vs plane crash or transmission through vomiting tendrils into wounds instead of spores which are tricky to show in a live show, so altogether I think it's a good adaptation. Far better than most vg adaptations.
I've played this game myself too many times and sarahs death still gets me, still cannot believe my fav game of all time has become a whole new series, this is insane :(
Of all the things Nathan is worried about the music not coming out then he goes and the first two names off is fucking Jonas brothers and Justin bieber 😂
Loved the reaction, I loved episode one, I already knew Sarah was going to die since I played/watched the gamplay of the video game, but I still cried and I was upset because the actor who was playing her I actually liked her and wish she could've been in it a bit longer. (Also, loving the Tapito & Crystal hot sauce in the background lol)
Thank you for posting this so quickly! I watched the episode like the minute it came out last night, and was like... "Ok, now I need to watch reactions immediately."
Seeing your reactions to the parts that are like 1:1 from the video games were awesome. They did really well. I knew what was coming with "that" scene and i still cried. Love your energy you earned my subscription
@@cearaabrahamsz6556 If I understand correctly what was spoiled for you, that shouldn't have deterred you, it's really well done, despite what people might bitch and moan about.
The subtle changes they made make sooooo much sense. From a video game standpoint the focus is gameplay so the entire section with Tess, Joel and Robert is meant to introduce the player to the basic gameplay mechanics, just to give an example. There’s no need for that here, so switching it up so that the pacing is a little quicker but still smooth while still making sense within the story they’re telling is important. And it is so well done. Same goes with the decision to have us start the show following Sarah. When you’re playing a video game from the POV of a character you’re naturally invested in their story, their development and their survival, so you successfully feel a connection to her and feel that heartbreak when she dies. You need to form that same connection but in a film it needs to be adapted in a different way. It’s similar to the first episode of GoT and one of the characters there. You are given a false sense of security thinking they have plot armor as a main character when in reality they’re used as a catalyst and to drive the motivations of the other characters.
the game is really good, i also played left behind, left behind is shorter since it‘s main focus is really only on ellie and riley (her best friend) but both are definitely worth playing, a lot of waterworks while playing them
Yooooo not a problem but did he opt out bc he’s played the game already? I only ask bc I’ve heard of people deciding not to watch the show bc they’ve played the game and don’t want a repeat. Just curious
Sometimes you need a break from doing certain reactions. It's all good, it's also nice to see a new face doing reactions to a show as well, it makes it feel like the channel itself is growing more, at least to me.
1:03 A lot of people played TellTale's The Walking Dead. It was a financial success for them across multiple platforms that's why they made three more seasons after.
I didn't catch the new guys name, but when he said "How did he keep on living?" after the dudes daughter died, he became my new favorite. Cuz I'm a mom with one daughter and can say with complete honesty that I would not go on without her. Props for being intuitive my guy.
You guys should look up the last of us podcast they’re releasing an episode each week after the show comes out to talk about the episodes it’s really good.
Outbreak in the games starts 26th of September 2013. They must've pushed Outbreak Day ten years earlier for the reason of the story happening in 2023, which is kind of a cool touch if you ask me.
Loved seeing seeing John Hannah playing yet another brilliant scientist, even if it was for one scene. Not much of a zombie person but the overall plot and cast has me intrigued, not to mention the pop culture surrounding this whole TV / gaming event.
this is just a suggestion but i would love for nathan to play the game, since its weekly episodes and its only about a 10 hour game im positive he could beat it in a few weeks or shorter, if not i really enjoy watching nate not have an idea of whats going on🙏 all love
He definitely should try and play it as the episodes come out. Watch episodes first, then play the game going through similar scenes, so he can more of an idea as the episodes continue. He can recap what he played and they can recap and compare to the episodes they just watched etc.
@@quentindiaz9418 just watched them talking about it at the end davion said he has the game upstairs and said nate should definitely play the game as the episodes come out so next week we'll see if he played it
What breaks my heart is that Sarah died the “human” way by a gun shot meaning that if that solider just gave them a chance she would have had a chance and still could have been alive till this day. Just overall sucks
In an apocalyptic situation, you just can't have morals. Well said! The game stressed upon underlying animalistic impulses while there was a moral dispute, conscience vs monstrosity of conscious. Great reaction and commentary.
Man I’m with Dante Walking Dead Telltale series is over Resident Evil and I feel like if Last of Us had more games to the series and probably didn’t take so many years to make a new one it would be over Resident Evil too

Little old grannies are much faster and stronger than you think... Those women can pack a punch, even in real life.
Right. It’s because they got years behind them hits. Them punching ain’t some new age punches. Them punches got life behind them type ish -davion

Also in the game you read the newspaper in the bathroom to get a lot of the info that the 1968 scene in the series explains in more depth.
LMAO I love how innocent Nathan is.
Pedro Pascal is really coming up in the acting world! First the mandalorian and now the the last of us! He is the GOAT!
