What I didn't know was who was playing Tess until I watched the episode and went "I know her!" In the previews they either didn't show her at all or clearly so I couldn't tell who is was, so I was concerned. Now I know they did a GREAT job! I love the choice!

The spores were way too controlled in the game compared to how spores operate in real life, they stick to your clothes and are too microscopic to just stay in one area/room.
Yeah but to be fair it's just as unrealistic to have a fungas that doesn't procreate via spore especially when the fungas this is supposed to be spreads that way, so either way it was guna be not true to life. I don't mind not having spores, I don't think it will effect the story at all, but I just don't get the reason they gave

Between all the practical Qs viewers would have that would risk their immersion, the CGI it would cost, and the awkward masks they’d have to put on their actors, they probably thought it was too much work for not enough pay off. I’m just glad the tendrils worked so well in the first ep, that grandma’s mouth and that horde pinning down their victims was absolutely horrifying lol

But yeah, gamers generally have far stronger suspension of disbelief because it's easier to break immersion in live-action. It's amazing how well they've taken highlights from the games while staying original. And I love what they've done with Sarah, giving us more development and screen timing to show what she does in her daily life, with adding the materials for what she did for her dad's birthday.

The ending with the radio was foreshadowing of what's to come. We find out that 80s music means trouble so at the end the song paying on the radio was an 80s song and we see the city outside the quarantine zone which means this is just the beginning...

So finally watching the episode, I really like how they did Sarah, making you think she’s gonna be there for the long run and pull that rug from under you. It’s pretty good the writing and the acting. Looking forward to the rest of this season.
It’s cool how the extra scenes that aren’t in the game actually add to the story. Like the reason Joel wasn’t there when his daughter woke up was because he had to go help tommy. It’s small stuff like that which adds more to the story that was told in the game.

Reason why you love the actress for Marlene is because she is the voice for Marlene in the game is well, her name is Merle Dandridge, also fun lil fact, the soldier at the start with Joel and Sarah, that was a cameo by the director/producer himself Craig Mazin, and the Fedra soldier that gave Joel his rations for burning those bodies and gave Joel his next day job was actually Gustavo Santoalalla the games music composer who is also doing the music for the show, also the shirt Ellie is wearing when we first see her chained up at the Fireflies QZ that is an easter egg and a nod to young Nathan Drake from Uncharted 4 lol, this show is already incredible to me, and they have broken the curse and teaching Hollywood a very valuable lesson with this series. :)
Many streamers wonde why the planes were flying so low, it was probably because those planes were supposed to land but given the situation, the runways were probably filled with people running (infection must've spread in the airport terminal as well) so the planes that were supposed to land made a quick decision and pulled up. There's a possibility for those planes were just leaving the runways, but the distance between each plane was too close, wake turbulence would've caused the plane behind another plummeted.
As a extremely huge Last of Us fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 and 2 loved every moment of the pilot there is some changes made but at least they stick as most to the game material as possible which is great.
I'm sure you know by now that Marlene is being played by the lady who played here in the video game. I have never played but I loved episode one and REALLY enjoyed your passion for the first episode. I will be back for more.

A fan myself both the game and the multiplayer, just the intro had me goosebumps. I really like you mentioning some of the game soundtracks they are incredible, but one you didn't mention was the fraction(multiplayer) soundtrack when joel is taking his night pills LOL, that there was for the multiplayer community. "Is the host still in there though?" Well, with the real fungus the host is there originally but the "consciousness" fades away as time goes on. Kind of like being under a massive dose of LSD, you're there but barely -- and then with the fungus it eventually replaces you.
I've never played the game as I don't have a PS4 or 5, I'll get one eventually maybe idk. I've watched several playthroughs of this game some more than once, I've watched a cinematic edit with the tedious gameplay not included, and even convinced my mom to sit with me on a day off and spend hours watching that same cinematic. I love this story, and so far I love this show. I love the attention to detail they had like everyone wearing the same clothes from the game, I love it. I love that Marlene is the voice actress, I'm loving Bella as Ellie. A Fun fact you may not know: the young lady who played Sarah, her name is Nico Parker, her mother is Thandiwe Newton. I'm sure you've seen her in things, Maeve in Westworld, she was Wills wife in The Pursuit of Happyness. She has her moms whole face and also her acting chops, limited time to show them but she's unforgettable
Played it on PS3 day of release. Awesome game! I loved the beginning with more story instead of starting where the game started. Also loved the actors they chose, mainly cause I'm a big GOT fan.
On LoU 2 I actually really liked it. The main issue I had with was the "narrative structure". I wish they could have done a better job with it, narratively. As far as actual game play I really like it. I have a feeling you won't like it as much as the first one. But I think you'll like it.
ya know, im caught up to every episode and when mell mentions the girl having that tic in the classroom i never thought about it as being an early sign of the infection, i just thought she could have been having a muscle spasm so that was a good observation. this is why i love watching reaction videos from many creators.
This is one of the only “horror”/ survival games I’ve actually completed. Dog I got the exact same reaction in 2013 that I did this year. His daughter dying in his arms might be one of the strongest video game moments of all time
FYI they DID show a clicker at the end there, on top of the left building as it rained with Joel and crew walking down the ruined road and the music played it was on top of the building screaming/clicking into the night.

It's not going to get canceled, it's going to have 2-4 seasons. Season 1 will be based on the first game. Season 2 will be based on the second game. And if the story in the Multiplayer is good, that might get a Season as well or two.
Honestly incredible... As an absolute bone fide fanboy of this game that opening left my mouth ajar 😂 they changed enough to make it impact like sarah having more screen time... The plane n not the car... Joel being just a dad it was perfection as far as pilots go... It only gets better too... One of the best shows ever put yo film imo despite some awkward pacing issues... The actual acting and production will be seriously hard to replicate....ever

They probably will do a scene on it at the beginning of episode 2. The reason it felt glossed over is because of the situation. They were being rushed because other militia were coming.

Reason why you love the actress for Marlene is because she is the voice for Marlene in the game is well, her name is Merle Dandridge, also fun lil fact, the soldier at the start with Joel and Sarah, that was a cameo by the director/producer himself Craig Mazin, and the Fedra soldier that gave Joel his rations for burning those bodies and gave Joel his next day job was actually Gustavo Santoalalla the games music composer who is also doing the music for the show, also the shirt Ellie is wearing when we first see her chained up at the Fireflies QZ that is an easter egg and a nod to young Nathan Drake from Uncharted 4 lol, this show is already incredible to me, and they have broken the curse and teaching Hollywood a very valuable lesson with this series. :)
Many streamers wonde why the planes were flying so low, it was probably because those planes were supposed to land but given the situation, the runways were probably filled with people running (infection must've spread in the airport terminal as well) so the planes that were supposed to land made a quick decision and pulled up. There's a possibility for those planes were just leaving the runways, but the distance between each plane was too close, wake turbulence would've caused the plane behind another plummeted.
As a extremely huge Last of Us fan who absolutely loves both games Part 1 and 2 loved every moment of the pilot there is some changes made but at least they stick as most to the game material as possible which is great.

A fan myself both the game and the multiplayer, just the intro had me goosebumps. I really like you mentioning some of the game soundtracks they are incredible, but one you didn't mention was the fraction(multiplayer) soundtrack when joel is taking his night pills LOL, that there was for the multiplayer community. I've never played the game as I don't have a PS4 or 5, I'll get one eventually maybe idk. I've watched several playthroughs of this game some more than once, I've watched a cinematic edit with the tedious gameplay not included, and even convinced my mom to sit with me on a day off and spend hours watching that same cinematic. I love this story, and so far I love this show.

I loved the beginning with more story instead of starting where the game started. Also loved the actors they chose, mainly cause I'm a big GOT fan.
On LoU 2 I actually really liked it. The main issue I had with was the "narrative structure". I wish they could have done a better job with it, narratively. As far as actual game play I really like it. I have a feeling you won't like it as much as the first one. But I think you'll like it.
ya know, im caught up to every episode and when mell mentions the girl having that tic in the classroom i never thought about it as being an early sign of the infection, i just thought she could have been having a muscle spasm so that was a good observation. this is why i love watching reaction videos from many creators.

This is one of the only “horror”/ survival games I’ve actually completed. Dog I got the exact same reaction in 2013 that I did this year. His daughter dying in his arms might be one of the strongest video game moments of all time

It's not going to get canceled, it's going to have 2-4 seasons. Season 1 will be based on the first game. Season 2 will be based on the second game. And if the story in the Multiplayer is good, that might get a Season as well or two.

Honestly incredible... As an absolute bone fide fanboy of this game that opening left my mouth ajar 😂 they changed enough to make it impact like sarah having more screen time... The plane n not the car... Joel being just a dad it was perfection as far as pilots go... It only gets better too... One of the best shows ever put yo film imo despite some awkward pacing issues... The actual acting and production will be seriously hard to replicate....ever

They probably will do a scene on it at the beginning of episode 2. The reason it felt glossed over is because of the situation. They were being rushed because other militia were coming.
Yeah I wasn't sold on the acting in that scene either It sounded like she was just firing off lines because for some reason tess didn't say anything at first I think the game definitely did that scene better

Nah man it’s just the game was messy and dragged a lot they at least put the flash backs first and I introduced abby first and her story it would be better but let’s hope they fix the messy stuff and plot holes so it will probably be better

Until you saw her side of the story and slowly begin to get where she was coming from. A great story about how hurting other people doesn’t fix the hurt that you feel.
