Love the idea of Mathematica live demos as you work out things! How about a "Living dangerously live" style live fomputation with a special edition for "LLM DIsasters" to have amusing unexpected results from these black boxes!
going to sound a bit crackpotty, but tesla and some others thought the ether was like an ideal gas, and light had to be soundwaves that were somehow polerized, because sound is very weakly dispersive in air, and this is true, but it is not a true non dispersive medium, such a thing doesnt really exist. there are forms of elastic solidity that can emerge in fluids or rather superfluids in the ideal case, that can be fully non dispersive at least to a much better approximation than air as non dispersive, because in addition to most wavelenghts being far to long to differ much in speed, you can have mechanisms that cancels the frequency dependence fully or almost fully in a more realistic case. and i think this is worth studying even if you dont want a theory of a medium for light and propagation of forces and stuff like that, in your model you have a sort of computational mechanical mechanism at the base of things and so emergent mediums is sort of unavoidable to some degree for you i think.
the real crux of the wavetheory of light being reestablished is two fold, there is compton scattering and the photoelectric effect, those are the fundamental difficulties, ther photoelectric effect is simple, the compoton scatting problem is somewhat harder, but still doable.
Japan's Obayashi Corporation is making progress on their plan to build a massive elevator with a 22,000-mile tether that could send humans to the International Space Station in just two-and-a-half hours by 2050. Has anyone else heard about that? Pretty cool.
