Marc Elias is one of the greatest activists in history. Brian Tyler Cohen ie a tireless, inspiring, non-stop public advocate. And that these two have a massive following is heartening. Still, having a large following doesn't necessarily mean that what is they're now doing is as effective as it could be. For example, MTC's and Elias's exposure of Trump's cruelty, incompetence, corruption and reckless idiocy, tho important, and their focus on putting the Dems back in power, nonetheless draw us away from something else important: Recognizing and fixing the corruption and dysfunction of the Democratic Party. The Party has lost the credibility and support of much of its base thru its weak and ineffectual economic reforms, a result of selling out the working class for big money from wealthy donors. If the Dems don't fix this, they are unlikely to reclaim much power, or to be effective in ousting Trump and Trumpism even if they do regain some control.

We need to demand that Amendment 14, Section 3 Disqualification Clause be applied to Trump. He is an insurrectionist disqualified to hold U.S. government office bc he engaged in, aided, abetted & gave comfort to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection(ists.). They try to say there are questions about its interpretation or that the Supreme Court demolished it in the Colorado case to take Trump of its ballot. None of that is true. The Amendment is crystal clear what it means, any person who previously took an oath to the Constitution & then engages in insurrection is disqualified from holding U.S. government office. First of all, the Supreme Court has no authority to repeal constitutional amendments, only interpret them, & all it said in the Colorado case was that states don't have individual authority to keep a candidate for a federal office off its ballot. A14-3 isn't a criminal charge subject to due process, it's a disqualification, like not being born a U.S. citizen disqualifies a person to be president. There's a preponderance of evidence that Trump is an insurrectionist. Only Congress may remove the disqualification by a 2/3 majority vote in each the House & the Senate.

@lisar3225 I can't say this without showing my age, but, it was a lot simpler when there were several channels to watch news. ABC, NBC and CBS. We believed newscasters like Walter Cronkite, Dan Mathers, etc, because we KNEW they were reliable, trustworthy people. And no one...NO ONE, belittled anyone. That just wasn't heard of. There was civility and respect, between newscasters and journalists, and their audience. I'm not hankering for the "good old days", but what a party and their constituents have reduced themselves to, and still gained power is mind numbing. I watched Ari Melber and Michael Steele on MSNBC previous to this report. Ari was explaining what's being planned for the dtrump administration made me sick to my stomach. I did read Project 2025 and Agenda 47, but there was no mention of billionaires being included in government, especially Elon Musk deciding where to cut spending. Did you know he has contracts with 12 government agencies? And reaps a pretty penny with each of them? I would encourage people to watch that newscast. It's frightening. The saddest part of all this? 1/3 of the country did not show up and vote.

While there will be less obvious guardrails, courts, if ever Rs actions are sued, the lower courts hold true to tradition. We can't necessarily count on SCOTUS, and THAT'S scary. But it takes time to get SCOTUS to schedule these cases and delays can help us get to midterms or 4 year mark possibly enough to get strong blue majorities atleast in the House or Senate.

Exactly what our founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson feared in discussions re: inception of public schools and education, with an emphasis on education of democracy. They knew without it America could become an "ignorant populace". Unfortunately that's what has happened, numerous articles public education, [your keywords] democracy, founding fathers Thomas Jefferson, etc ... Please don't limit yourselves to Google. There are over 50 search engines available on the internet, some of them are for specific subjects, mathematical would be one, but there are others available who don't track your every move, numerous articles BRAVE is one I like, as a research analyst who no longer has access to the larger databases which aren't free on the internet... I'd have to say BRAVE is one that has built an excellent foundation for research and they continue to grow today.
FREESPOKE is another one. Yes run a Google search and find out your other options for research and analysis. Plenty of documents out there available to the public, facts. Data with truth, that is how we form an analysis.

I looked up all of the judges and which governor appointed them. I write in a Democrat name. That way, the Maga Repugs don't get a vote. I have been doing this for a long time. Local school board and some others claim bipartisan and I don't trust because in a red city and county. I look at the Maga signs in yards and look at the Internet, so I eliminate the felon followers. I am a DFL delegate in my red town. Anti Emmer! Volunteered at events. Continue to fight for democracy.
Since the loss of the election, I have been off news and not been listening to anyone, it is not helpful and it is impossible to do anything that will get us out of this terrible situation. I can't say this without showing my age, but, it was a lot simpler when there were several channels to watch news. ABC, NBC and CBS. We believed newscasters like Walter Cronkite, Dan Mathers, etc, because we KNEW they were reliable, trustworthy people. And no one...NO ONE, belittled anyone. That just wasn't heard of. There was civility and respect, between newscasters and journalists, and their audience. I'm not hankering for the "good old days", but what a party and their constituents have reduced themselves to, and still gained power is mind numbing. I watched Ari Melber and Michael Steele on MSNBC previous to this report. Ari was explaining what's being planned for the dtrump administration made me sick to my stomach. I did read Project 2025 and Agenda 47, but there was no mention of billionaires being included in government, especially Elon Musk deciding where to cut spending.
Did you know he has contracts with 12 government agencies? And reaps a pretty penny with each of them? I would encourage people to watch that newscast. It's frightening.
The saddest part of all this? 1/3 of the country did not show up and vote.

While there will be less obvious guardrails, courts, if ever Rs actions are sued, the lower courts hold true to tradition. We can't necessarily count on SCOTUS, and THAT'S scary.
But it takes time to get SCOTUS to schedule these cases and delays can help us get to midterms or 4 year mark possibly enough to get strong blue majorities atleast in the House or Senate.

The leaders of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement insisted that it be peaceful to be effective. This MUST be the case again. Legal Parades, boycott, etc. But mainly identify political candidates that are squeaky clean, highly qualified, educated, experiences, articulate, and elect able.
