The Lexus and Acura models featured in the vid are really desirable cars, as opposed to the other picks (Volvo, Mercedes, Audi), which are positioned pretty low on the automotive food chain ...

See that's just your opinion tho. Some of the circles I run in, would laugh at an underpowered overpriced Honda whoops i mean Acura and most likely go Mercedes. So I guess it depends on "whose" list you're talking about.

@@TheMeanmarine13 The A Class is an entry level Mercedes. In Europe they are powered by Renault engines. I think you're referring to higher end Mercedes models.

I would go for the Lexus straightway. I mean it has luxury, styling, reliability and durability AND it is affordable. If you take care of the car, don't drive like a lunatic it will last 20 plus years and Not give you any trouble. A close second is that Acura. I'm not too sure about the Audi cuz maintenance/service cost of Audis is pretty high

I have a Genesis G80 Sport. It has been flawless and has everything most manufacturers charge additional for as standard. For me it has been a great luxury vehicle at an affordable price to buy and maintain. Needed an AWD for living in Alberta and it ticked the boxes, no regrets.

Pretty good video but the problem with luxury cars is that it may have a relatively cheap sticker price but the there's overpriced maintenance cost. Also, with the exception of the Lexus and maybe the Acura, you also have questionable reliability. I'm also thinking Genesis G70 could have made the list as the base model starts within $1k of the TLX... and at least the really long warranty has you covered.

the Mercedes looks really good. A250 will become an endless money pit but still a beautiful car - and affordable.
