I just rode this exact machine across America, starting from California and hitting Colorado Rockies along the way; 3,000 miles. It's just a wonderful sports touring bike that you can ride all day long; fast, nimble, comfortable, and you can carry a decent amount of gear in its beautifully shaped stock panniers. What I couldn't store away, I put in a soft bag behind me on the 2-up seat. This is my first Ducati, and I'm not disappointed at all.
I'm Italian and I'm so proud of this enthusiastic review! But I would never buy this bike, even if I had all that money to spend, because I love the off road. :)
Absolutely love the accent of the reviewer and there's so much excitement in his voice, it's almost impossible to tell if Ducati Multistrada has any flaws. I sat on one the other week and the sales lady was so nice, she was actually urging me to test ride it. Problem was that it was so expensive in my country, I'd have to sell my kidneys, car and kids to afford it because it's around 22K USD.
I’m so glad you liked the Multi. I watched lots of your videos and I value you opinion about the bikes and gear you review. I got a Multistrada 950 and its an absolute joy to ride. Already took it around Lake Michigan. I hope for many more tris in the future. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing to us motorcycles enthusiasts! Pozdrav!!!
Hahaha! Your excitement... I also test rode a Multistrada and felt the same way... It kept reminding me of a Full Power Vmax I owned years ago... I did 255 km/h in 4th gear on the Multistrada!!! But I didn't find it that conformable, after a while and thought it vibrated like crazy, if you wanted to ride in the low revs.. But yes! Amazing Bike! Very exciting! And cornering capabilities might well be the best in class! Best solution for someone who wants a race bike's performance in a straight torso position. By the way, I wasn't able to test a KTM 1090 R, so now I'm waiting for my Africa twin to arrive, sometime after mid May. Keep up the great work! Really enjoying your videos! ; )~
Thanks for watching and for nice and informative commend as usual! I think that you made the right choice with the Africa Twin, I wish to be on your place! Ride safe!
I tried one around the same time as you and for me that is the best "all in one" bike, especially since others in that segment do not have such nice punchy "sport" mode for hard b-roads riding. Luckily second hand bike prices are affordable.
And it has the 19’’ front wheel, better for light off-road. You can also have spoke tubeless wheels right from the shop, so it has same ergonomics and same electronics and same wheels as the enduro. Just don’t have electronically adjustable suspension (just normal full manual adjustment) and less power (more than enough 113HP)
nowadays almost all adventure bikes are heavy but the high horse bower, torque to weight ratio is very good even Yamaha tenneri new models are heavy. you can take everything off road even honda gold wing can be taken off road but are you willing to take the risk of falling and having to pick it up then seeing that something is broken
During your “Test & Review” ride, you had the MS in “Enduro Mode” (5:18) limiting the horsepower to 100hp. Did you have an opportunity to experience “Sport or Turing Mode” thereby unleashing the full 160hp the MS provides??
Hi, ive had mine for two year now, i love it, im 168cm high, ive got a lower seat its jut about ok for me, i dont get my feet flat on the ground. The hand guards are a bit weak though i broke mine when i layed the bike down, i have Bark Busters on mine which are now ideal. you should try it in Sport mode, its like a bucking bronko :)
I like to say thank you for testing. Your videos are very helpful for my evaluation for a new motorbike. Keep going on your good job. See you on road...
Thanks for the review, just wonder if you prefer r1200gs over multistrada for long distance touring and handling at low speed? Thanks for your opinion.
Like most things Italian it looks fabulous and rides very well. .. (can I say that?) but how reliable is it.. If I could afford more than one bike then yes please but a tragic lack of dollars means I cannot. Perhaps Kawasaki Versus and Van Strom 650 tests as affordable alternative bikes, especially as you ride the best middleweight yourself- for comparison. Great stuff happy travels.
Yes, this exactly what I think, but I have to say, it is such a great bike to ride. By the way I already did the test of Versus 1000. The video will come soon.
I am sure it is a beautiful machine, but in the end I would worry about way to much. Worry about damaging it. Worry about it getting stolen. All that worry would quickly make it a burden out of a pleasure. So I leave the Ferraris and Ducatis to the people who like shiny things and worrying about stuff. I stick to my simple and cheap machines and have fun riding them instead of looking at them.
Hey rider! Put LOTS of miles on my Ducati st2 .206.000 😎 we wanted a bike 4 travel 2 up .just got a used Ducati multistrada 1200 s touring 2011 lots of add ons seat ,lights, luggage rack .it has miles on it , but only paid 6 grand 😎😎🏍🏍🍻
First of all it has 152 HP, not 160 - I believe that is the Pikes Peak only. Secondly I disagree on the price part: you get yourself a multifunctional motorbike with all the bits and pieces: active suspension, 4 riding modes (motormanagement ánd suspension settings), ABS, traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, adaptive LED headlights, a 1200cc 152 HP engine, Brembo brakes, single swingarm, etc. For the same amount you buy a Honda Fireblade, and I'm not talking about the SP or SP2 which are far more expensive. It might seem a lot of money but when you look at all the specs and innovations, it is a lot that you are getting. Can't wait to go into Europe this summer on the 1200 S ;-))
I enjoy your videos and just subscribed. Just so you know, by setting the bike to Enduro mode it cut back the HP to about 100HP (as does the Urban setting). Only Sport and Touring modes use the full 160HP. I just came back from a 5600km ride on my 2016 model and loved it (my first long touring ride).
Nice review and nice bike. But not my favorite, it's tooooooo much powerful I don't know for what I'm not going to do a race with it. also tooooo much expensive. But yet good technology and reliability. Thankk you Pavlin,
I like the bike but they should not be allowed advertising 160 brakes, when Multi was independently dyno'd it only showed 120-130 (don't remember exact figure but way less!)
Hi I plan to buy the multisrada enduro1200. When will you be reviewing this bike. I watch a lot of your videos and reviews . So would be of great help from you. Thankyou.
I'm waiting for a review of a Kawasaki versys 1000 ;) I know it's not exactly "adventure" but neither is mulistrada ..thanks for your effort, very good reviews 👌
I don`t take "Adventure Motorcycle" to serious cause in many cases it´s only marketing and not the reality...and for me this Ducati is to expensive and to beautiful to crash her off-road - I think it can`t be wrong to use this bike for fun as a bigger supermoto or a bit seriously for comfortable easy long distance travelling, that´s what most of the big "Adventure Bikes" are very good for and that`s the main reason for their success, and especially this Ducati is a real sportstourer
Beautiful bike, I agree! But uh, oh, where did engine truth go? Ducati claims 160 hp, while several tests finds only 137 hp at the rear wheel. Where are the 23 hp in discrepancy? With perhaps 7 to the chain, 16 hp is a lie. 1) The KTM 1290's are certainly measured to offer more at the rear wheel. 2) The 2017 BMW S1000XR has 158 hp @ the rear wheel, 21 hp beyond Ducatis genuine power. No blasting the competition here, quite the opposite.
Motorcycle Adventures Have you consider KTM 1090 adventure r? not very heavy..made for long distance adventure with exelent offroad skills..check out Nerb1 here one youtube. Any tubble with the xt660?
Hi there! Thanks for this review. I really respect your opinion and I think that your reviews are really precius for ADV motorbikers community. But I have one question: In what universe is that design beautiful?? It looks like a Star Trek alien with huge nosetrils! It repeals me more than any other motorbike I have ever seen!
Stupidly expensive to buy and here in the UK,servicing costs are a joke. It's a Ducati so I would expect it to start falling apart after 3-4 years or so.If I win the lottery and they fitted a quickshifter, then maybe I would consider one.until then,no thanks.
Brian smith interesting comment on the Ducati reliability. Of the 206.000 miles on my Ducati st2 the only time it failed was when fuel filter plugged up at 130.000 miles so it is gonna need another one soon 😎🏍 also put 196.000 miles on my Ducati 900ss bought new in 1992 .
Adam Pennington after turning over 190.000 miles on my old ducati ST 2 on our way back from California in 2016. , I kept thinking the same thing !!!😄😄😄😄😄😄

this is why i like youtube...channels like this one is what makes me come back back every time..keep up the good job man
Thanks! I will do my best!
Wow, "best motorcycle I've ever tested", a great sensation.
My dream bike. I own a monster 796 now. Stunning bike. Can't wait to drive a multistrada
I'm Italian and I'm so proud of this enthusiastic review! But I would never buy this bike, even if I had all that money to spend, because I love the off road. :)

Yes, this is one of the cons of that bike - too expensive.
Hey rider !!! You still out there ??😎😎
I’m so glad you liked the Multi. I watched lots of your videos and I value you opinion about the bikes and gear you review. I got a Multistrada 950 and its an absolute joy to ride. Rad Rav
KTM 1290 has 160 HP as well. I ride one so I just had to throw that in :-). Good video
Only the price is a major impediment.......
I tried one around the same time as you and for me that is the best "all in one" bike, especially since others in that segment do not have such nice punchy "sport" mode for hard b-roads riding.
Luckily second hand bike prices are affordable.
I agree, beautiful design! Wonderful review. Thanks!
160HP wow and what a beauty
I rode the new Multistrada 950 yesterday and it's 90% of the 1200 but for alot less money!
I will agree with that.
Great video! Please make one for the younger sister, the Multistrada 950!!!

You are really fall in love in the multi strada. You have to buy the adventure model for your trips...?
The Dream Machine....great review
Thanks for watching!

Yes, I did. It was the fastest endure bike I ever had.

Goat of motorbikes!
Nice video pavlin 👍
Its such a beautiful machine and also my dream bike.
But 1 thing i don't like in this.
That is safety features.
Safety features are something really good. I cannot understand why you don't like it, but...everybody is different.
Motorcycle Adventures there is no safety guards like crash protector or steel pipe guard.
I like to say thank you for testing. Your videos are very helpful for my evaluation for a new motorbike. Keep going on your good job. See you on road...
Thank you so much for watching and commend it here Jürgen. The idea of the channel was to help people to make their trips easier. Ride safe!
Excellent review. Powerful Super-Touring bike with a hint of adventure.
Thanks for the review, just wonder if you prefer r1200gs over multistrada for long distance touring and handling at low speed? Thanks for your opinion.
For long distance I prefer lighter bike. Handling on low speed the GS is better, because of the lower centre of gravity.
Hello Pavlin. Please tell me, if you have to choose between R1200GS ADV, Multistrada, Super Tenera and KTM ADV, what would you buy?
If I have to make this choice I will always take Super Tenere.
Like most things Italian it looks fabulous and rides very well. .. (can I say that?) but how reliable is it..
If I could afford more than one bike then yes please but a tragic lack of dollars means I cannot.

Danke, großartige Reviews! Grüße aus Berlin nach Berlin!
i am sure that if you go back to the shop they might/ must have an Enduro for you to test
Wooow, I can feel its power even when I just watching on TH-cam. Especially when you go from 100 to 160km/h in a few seconds. Really powerful indeed.
O, yes, it is really powerful bike.
My opinion is exactly the same. Thanks for watching!
The indicators are "inflated" in the handguard.....cracked me up! LOL
hi, I would like to hear your opinion on the MTS 950. Thanks Ciao
I am not planing this review for this year, sorry!
your excitement says it all ! 😅
Yes, I really like that bike.

Yes, I know that. All brand reduce the power for off road and rain mode. Enjoy your trips and ride safe!
I hope you can also review the Pikes Peak version :)
Nice bike... and nice video
Beautiful
Nice review and nice bike. But not my favorite, it's tooooooo much powerful I don't know for what I'm not going to do a race with it. also tooooo much expensive. But yet good technology and reliability.

Hi I plan to buy the multisrada enduro1200. When will you be reviewing this bike. I watch a lot of your videos and reviews . So would be of great help from you. Thankyou.
I will, one of my subscribers offers his bike for test ride. It will be done in about 2,3 weeks.
I'm waiting for a review of a Kawasaki versys 1000 ;)

if adventure motorcycle is sold with 100% street tires on stock that means this bike has almost nothink to do with adventure
yes and no :) - my former Africa Twin came with street tires on stock, the real adventure started after I`ve changed them
I sometimes don't understand a word you say.....but I like it hahaha
I am sorry about it, but...
You say that Ducati is an adventure bike, but it must have crash bars around it for safety.

Yes, may be you are right, but for travelling these H.P are far more than enough.
A friend of me have one.Awsom bike..but in the end its a bling bike..
Very nice engien...
I am sure it is.
have not tryed yet..but guess im get the chanse this summer...
are you looking for a new travel bike?

Motorcycle Adventures
Have you consider KTM 1090 adventure r? not very heavy..made for long distance adventure with exelent offroad skills..check out Nerb1 here one youtube.
Any tubble with the xt660?
Hi, I have checked the KTM. Nice, but...I don't know, I just don't trust them. They are not so famous with real ability.
Now you have to test S1000XR
I won't, sorry!
sorry what is the name of your argentinian friend?
Klinador.
@@motorcycleadventures thanks a lot!!! Ride safe!!!
@@motorcycleadventures I cannot find him on youtube unfortunately, do you have a link please?

Well, that's why so many different motorcycle brands and designs exist, because we all like different things. Thanks for watching and ride safe!
My friend i respect your opinion, but honestly you are the F-I-R-S-T person i meet,to say the Multistrada is not beautiful!!
Stupidly expensive to buy and here in the UK,servicing costs are a joke. It's a Ducati so I would expect it to start falling apart after 3-4 years or so.If I win the lottery and they fitted a quickshifter, then maybe I would consider one.until then,no thanks.

It is like a big scooter
I wouldn't ride anything that wasn't Japanese on a long trip.
Adam Pennington after turning over 190.000 miles on my old ducati ST 2 on our way back from California in 2016. , I kept thinking the same thing !!!😄😄😄😄😄😄
i think all motorcycle is low for you haha
True
One of the most ugly bikes i have ever seen...sorry normally i agree with you :)
That's alright, we all like different things.
MrSscshook funny, I think the same thing about Harleys! !😎
awful looking bike
