yep, if theres a tornado and large chunks of the house get blown over the exits, without hydraulics thered be no way to get out, and the solar panels would stop working. Or even snow and ice could make it very very hard to open.
On the solar efficiency, keep in mind that those acrylic sheets will weather, and that they don't let heat dissipate. Solar panels work best when cold, so you might want to look into a water cooling loop (that can be done with a little 10-watt pump and a bucket, realistically) or something similar
was thinking the same. something like remote opening locks of some kind would be nice. and maybe some magnets to hold the sliding door in places when its closed and not locked.
You should build a small shed and use the roof or the panels. The shed will hide the entrance and you have an extra layer of protection that blends in with normal backyards.
It's worth noting that those panels are going to *B A K E* under those plexi panes which will drastically reduce their efficiency and simultaneously raise the temperature of the space below. You may want to consider forcing some air under them to keep the temperature within the realm of reason. It's also worth considering having some sort of constant load on the system because having silicon panels in the sun getting real hot and delivering no power is no good for the life of the panels themselves. For me, I made a powered bird bath pulling 3 amps from 10AM to 8PM and a ventilation fan that runs when the panels are active for a system half the size that powers my shed.
Don't bother man, he's made a toxic pressure cooker if his wiring ever has any hot issues (all of his raceway is PVC gutter), the acrylic is going to weaken in the sun over time and also reduce efficiency, I've seen a few gaps in the paint of the metal so far that are gonna rust out, and people have mentioned all of this. the electrical system he's decided on here wouldn't pass safety checks for an enclosed space (which this is) and his wife is in a wheelchair and won't be able to get out quickly if anything happens.

Solar guy here. Might wanna look into UV permeable acrylic. Most plastic is UV opaque, and I have seen it lower the efficiency of a panel 80%. Glass is the same, but for different reasons.
Also acrylic readily absorbs moisture and changes size a surprising amount. And, Zach appears to think all clear plastics are identical. I've never heard of anyone making bulletproof glass out of acrylic. That's polycarbonate, a completely different material. Acrylic will shatter like glass. Poly gums up. Both scratch easily. Putting biracial panels flat on the “ground” is original. I’m using them vertically not as efficient than with an angle, but I live in a cold place with lots of snow and ice. And the vertical panels don’t need cleanups, so they work much better than “correctly” angled panels. And it make great “fences that produce electricity”

There's also another factor that will impact efficiency of the solar panel and it's HEAT. Idea: you could run water lines underneath and get solar heated water at the same time you cool them down. Great build anyways, it's a good solid mechanism and I like the idea of the acrylic for safety.
Jerry do you plan on having backup solar panels in case of a EMP ? Most companies put dirt in the emergency exit that can fall away if case of a gama ray hit from a nuclear explosion. Also has an off set entrance with a turn.
If you split the sliding bit in half(Left and right), you could put standing panels that rotate on each side to face the sun. Could even do 4 panels(Two on lifts that slide them higher so they don't block the other two as the sun moves). Then it would slide apart, like parting the red sea, to give access to the elevator. Removes the need to the Acrylic(Which lowers efficiency, and helps them overheat), and you can put them on a solid metal base cover that can be sealed against the weather. Gives you the best of all worlds, and removes the pitfalls.
Would have been neat if you had a pair of round top end bars for that lift platform then you could make 2 fold doors on top of the ground like you have seen in downtown sidewalks for store deliveries to the basements.

Everytime he talks about the bunker i get shivers 😅 Everytime and I don't know why
I'm a bit late to the video but you are 100% correct on the unistrut it's just a giant maccano set love using it for sparking
The giveaway link not worky work
If you split the sliding bit in half(Left and right), you could put standing panels that rotate on each side to face the sun.
0:44 Neither of those are a supertruck.
Would have been neat if you had a pair of round top end bars for that lift platform then you could make 2 fold doors on top of the ground like you have seen in downtown sidewalks for store deliveries to the basements.
WHAT IF IT SNOWS? "Infinite power" you will die in the bunker due to external weather stuff... 😂
Jerry you always provide us with the best videos ever
So close to ww3 that's why this doesn't feels insane
That's actually crazy, I've also been using the burnt titanium Ridge wallet for the past 5 years
I can't believe Zack has decided to live under a rock.

So good
Just so you know that your giveaway counts as a illegal lottery. I know it wasn't your intention, but to avoid this in the future, everyone has to be able to have the same chance or get to have a bigger chance, no purchase necessary. That is why at the end of giveaways for cereal, they always say "No purchase necessary", otherwise they are going to have issues with the government. I am sure this was not your intention and you just wanted to do something nice for your fans, but there are other ways without breaking the law. Hope this message helps you out! I seriously have your best interests at heart, just don't want you getting the runin with the cops. Unless you got permission from the government of course!
It is not illegal. It is free to enter. You get additional entries when purchasing. This is a viable loophole. It is still free to enter.
Just a good thought, before you put someone on blast, you should get your facts correct, bc he does say pretty clear that it’s a free entree for everyone. And you can get more entrees as you purchase 😊
@@Danielnicky1997 I was just giving information. I was not mad at all, I was just concerned, so I wanted to let him know. I was not aware that you could pay to get a higher chance as long as everyone has a chance for free. I admit, I could be wrong, but where is your evidence? How do I know that you know? Also, no pressure dude! It is all good and nothing is personal!
It's the planning that you are doing so well jerry😉
Im sorry but havent u just made it impossible to get in with a wheelchair now, cuz of the rails??? Cool build tho!
I'm also wondering about the same thing, Why didn't he made it to slide the other way?
Zach! How do you plan on controlling the elevator level when needing to board it? I’m just imagining you guys having kids someday and the trap door gets opened but the elevator isn’t to the top level yet and someone falls in… Maybe installing some level indicator lights on both levels could help minimize the risk? Do you have safety’s in place for this?
Love your videos. They are so entertaining.
Cash I would pick the cash hands down
Damn, watching the oshcut machine do its thing is so satisfying to me
finally something about bunker
That fitment is so satisfying ❤
You should add rubber bushing on the bolt stopper (of the slidding door) . It would make is smoother.
Seems like the hatch now blocks the elevator but since it does go above, you'll need a new ramp to get over the rails or to come in from the other side... A latch to lock it in place so the sliding doesn't happen would help too.
I would like to see some kind of combination of hydraulic lifting/closing, soft close and rubber number stops to the hatches. This way it feels much more premium and maybe some weather stripping and dust ingress prevention to help keep things more comfortable and tidy.
I already have a 1981 Chevy C10 that's been restored and made fancy / hot rod. Id take the cash, and go full restomod. Modernize the engine, transmission, while keeping a classic look.
For added safety you should give some structural (like frames under solar panel) design for the sliding doors
God I wish I had this kinda money
It's looking good zack
Damn fine alliteration you rattled off there around the 4:00 mark!
Thanks for the chance to enter... I watch and follow all your videos and really appreciate them. If I win, I'll take the money at this point in my life. This would be a miracle. Although the cyber truck and raptor are tempting!
I will choose the money, that way I can help others. That's one thing I love about your personality and video, you been helping so much people so I ask God to put me in position where I can make a difference and helps others.❤
He's already rich as hell and has 8mil subs. It's much easier to help others than a average normal guy. Still give him props though because there are many wealthy people who don't do a damn thing or help others.
that bunker is pretty fuqn cool!
Just a suggestion. I hope that entrance elevator always return to somewhat closer(1 or 2 feet) to surface every time. So even if someone falls down they will not down all the way down into that pit. If someone wanna get out they can press a button and take the elevator down and come back up.
