Compare them to James Hunt and Niki Lauda: -> Hunt was pure talent and on a good day unbeatable. -> Lauda was the working machine who improved himself wherever he could (studied racing-car-mechanic, always took perfect care of himself and so on) People always seem to find natural talent more attractive than accomplishment by training but I really believe that when 2 players are evenly good - the hard worker will go on for longer. Its really hard to draw the line on who is the better player. Although it is easy to say Messi, you cant overlook the fact that he is yet to prove himself outside of Barcelona were as Rolando has. Both types have their advantages. Compare them to James Hunt and Niki Lauda:
-> Hunt was pure talent and on a good day unbeatable.
-> Lauda was the working machine who improved himself wherever he could (studied racing-car-mechanic, always took perfect care of himself and so on)
People always seem to find natural talent more attractive than accomplishment by training but I really believe that when 2 players are evenly good - the hard worker will go on for longer. He will find ways to improve because improving is what they are good at.. it is what they made their real talent. And when the game (or the league) changes they are able to adapt.
Thats the reason I prefer Ronaldo over Messi.
+Threepwoot I think messi has done the real improvement in his game. He's improving different things of his game every season, adding new dimensions. Like last season, we saw his amazing improved passing ability, this season it's free kicks. Whereas ronaldo is just keeping up his physique hitting the gym etc. But he's almost the same type of player he was before- a good and complete goal scorer.
I think people overlook the hard work messi do because he looks natural and is not as muscular as ronaldo. It's not easy to keep up his level for all this year. Hard work in football also means improving your footballing abilities
