As a very early Macan S owner since December 2014 I warn folks to be very careful if you consider purchasing this car as your first Porsche. It can be extremely costly to operate if you then decide it’s so great that you go on to purchase two Spyders and three 911s like an idiot. Just posting for a friend.
@@lucentics 😄You will love the car, but be careful. It led to an incurable addiction in the form of an ‘18 Spyder, ‘18 911 Cab, ‘18 GT3 Touring, ‘19 Targa, ‘21 Spyder and ‘22 GT3 coming. Not good......
@@Closertotruth2 haha thanks so much for the warning! I’m starting to feel nervous 😂 already fell in love with the 911s, seems like a healthy addiction after all 🤣
Ugh, can confirm they are a gateway drug. Started with a 981 Boxster, loved it so much I custom ordered a Macan, and then decided to skip it altogether and go straight for a Panamera.
I just got my wife a new macan turbo, 3 weeks ago and she loves it and honestly so do I, I have a 2021 911 turbo s and still enjoy driving her macan turbo almost as much. I am glad we have the physical buttons, the new one will be constant finger prints and finger nail scratches. Good Video!! Sub.
I think its more like the car buying market isnt quite ready for a fully electric macan hence we get another half generation on a mild facelift internal combustion engine
Macan S is just a spec-down old GTS with zero discount, more unpainted plastic and less physical buttons. They couldn't even be bothered to update the PCM.
My Taycan is in for the recall and they loaned me a Macan. No, it's not a sports car. The Taycan is not a sports car, but I love it. I was assuming the electric Macan would be my next electric car taking the place of the Volt. No, not unless they change the Macan smaller.
I ask myself, why can’t I spec: Head Up Display, Massageseats, Soft Close Doors, Porsche Inno Drive, Night Vision and so on. The new Facelift Macan is way behind the competition in that aspects!
This 4 eyed tool is referring to the transfer rate of 4K video requiring CF Express and how to deal with GB's of data from multiple camera and how that has caused problems in final cut etc. However the selecting of 4K in the options was also tricky 😁

Fellow Macan S owner here. A few thoughts: 1- big bump in power for the GTS, very nice, at least on paper. 2- not a fan of touch controls on console. 3- I’ve read that this model will exist alongside the Macan EV, at least for a while. 4- I like Papaya, but is that a stolen VW color? I saw a Tiguan with a similar orange.
The 4th facelift is almost here as well - the EV Macan also has a different look (same body). People love CUV's - but you'll have to hit me over the head a few times with a hammer before I want to give up my 911.
Just to let everyone know I secured an order for the new Facelift model here in UK for October build. Only to find out yesterday Porsche are not allowing PASM or air suspension with PASM for new orders. Apparently the floods in Germany mean they have supply problems. Not sure whether this is chip or suspension component related but a real pain as will mean people won't be able to order the car with the better suspension until the supply problem is sorted out! A real problem for the GTS too which has air suspension as standard!
As a 2 Macan owner, I welcome the EV version. I’ll jump on that as soon as it’s released. I’m tired of $500 per week in fuel and maintenance headaches I’ve had over the last 36 months. By the way we also own a Model 3 which now gets used about 80% of the time in my household. I’ll take a Macan EV over the Model Y any day of the week, we just need it Porsche. Hurry up with it.
As I am in a dilemma between waiting to buy the Macan EV (arrives late 2023) and getting a 2022 Macan S now, what have been the maintenance issues for your Macan?
@Nick Murray - Do you have insights into the electric models? I purchased a 2019 Macan based on your advice on this channel - but looking to replace another car with an electric - thinking that the eMacan might be suitable and timeline work for me if I can get it 2022Q4 or 2023Q1 - saw some videos and the ext looks really nice - but I saw one interior picture and the display behind the steering wheel looked like a 14" tft set back and cut out of the dash - if that's what the go to market with, I'm out... but everything else looks interesting to me.
Hi Nick, I know your no fan of alcantara. The new GTS comes with dead animal sides and race tex in the middle of the seats. What would be your preference, I’m thinking full dead animal for longevity of the vehicle for the human
Hi Nick, Love most of your work. It's great to have someone so blunt about state of the things. On a personal note, you look a bit tired. Take care of yourself please.
First Macan Turbo at least had a different and better sounding engine 3.6, the second shared the same with GTS and the only difference was the mapping - ridiculous. The new one looks terrible with black plastic all over the front..
Very amusing. I had a Cayenne which I loved. I was having it serviced one day and my dealer gave me a Macan as a loaner. Wow, I was stunned. So I bought a 2017 model and then a 2020 and will move again to a 2023. I've been driving Porsches for 40 years, ordered a 2022 911 and just bought a mint condition '89 928. The Macan kicks ass and the styling is extraordinary. I actually miss driving it when I'm driving one of my other Porsches.
The orange one in your video looks like it could be electric with the lower section dropped down like that. Like for a battery pack or whatever. Maybe not. But that's what it made me think of.
Nick, a quick note from akrus thu dutch - I live on the South Coast of NSW and in town the other day there was a gorgeous white Porsche Tycan (drool! drool!). Also recently I saw some 🇦🇺 sales figures for Porsche Oz; Tycans were selling nearly twice as many as the 911, it's their highest selling model!
Nick, I drove the Cayenne, didn't quite like it as much as the Macan. The Macan set up I liked better especially the buttons. It was difficult to find cars, but I did get a Chalk/black Macan and a White/red leather Macan S. Some nice extras on each. I do not want an EV. This vid was better than a Disney movie.
You’re absolutely right, it isn’t a sports car! It’s a very nice, refined SUV. I’ve got the 2019 (facelift), Macan S. Dare I say it, my old Mini Cooper S is probably more fun to drive, especially on a twisty U.K. road!
