About the audiobook: I first encountered Nate Silver through The Signal and the Noise, which was masterfully narrated. Silver himself is sharp, analytical, but when it comes to narration, his skill set falls short. A polished mind requires a polished voice. I’d gladly take a credit from Amazon or, better yet, a second version of the book-this time with a professional narrator behind the mic. The narrator’s limitations are hard to ignore. With little versatility in tone or delivery, he relies on a single reading algorithm, endlessly repeating the same cadence. The result? The audiobook becomes an endurance test after just ten minutes, and with over 14 hours of content ahead, it feels more like a trek through the Sahara. The reading pace, advertised as 'normal,' is more reminiscent of a rushed radio ad than the steady rhythm of a natural reading.
It seems like Nate makes assertions without supporting data. I would think that with statistical analysis, he sees lots of data to support these assertions. It would be valuable to hear how he supports the theses.
Nate is a sellout to the system, who resorts to personal snide remarks about people like RFK, and does not have the intellectual or moral courage and integrity to deal with issues like assassinations and False Flags
“Not surprised super rich businessman vote republican” Nate, for someone that focuses on models, you would think you would be knowledgeable about the data/inputs, and realize this statement is just not true.
Timothy Mellon, who reminisces about chartering a private plane to boarding school every morning as a child, believes that WIC [the U.S. Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children] payments is not only a waste of tax payer money but a form of slavery. He has given the Trump campaign over $100 million… and oh yeah he majored in city planning at Yale before taking over the family business (i.e. not very bright). Look at his wiki page. These people wouldn’t lift a figure if you were dying of a preventable disease and couldn’t work or afford your life saving medication. There is a reason why everyone around these people votes blue.

”The AI is going to be good at writing about AI” is such a dumb take that it is hard to believe he is a statistician.
