As a kid from the 80’s converting matchbox cars to post apocalyptic mad max machines is a such cool idea. I’d get my cars and rub them on the garden path to sand all the paint, dirty them all up and in many ways they just looked better.

since the paint job is weathered and the paint is going on rather thin stripping all the paint would just be an added step I don't feel is needed.
