Bro same. Thank God for One Page Rules giving my 40k army a second life. Otherwise I'm up to my eyeballs in new games, and always dragging my hobby group to new horizons like Turnip28 and Frostgrave.
@@RobertN734 OPR is great, we played two games of 9th that took up half a day with tiny armies, lost our will to live, tried out Grimdark Future Firefight and have been playing that ever since
Commenting from six months in the future to say yes please! I love Gaslands and there is so little out there about it. Sometimes I just want to watch people playing it but there's like three battle reports out there.
this is literally how I got started in the hobby again. when I was 18 and was still in love with mad max fury road 2 years later my dad sent me a link to gaslands and I was hooked. now I'm playing all sorts of stuff and have over 500 cars painted. I am not kidding
I’d recommend Xenos Rampant. It’s basically 40k but you choose what each model or unit is and does. Makes the whole issue of army balance more balanced and fun
This video was like the main factor that got me into gaslands, i've used 40k bits to convert (and paint) 3 very different cars and each has been a blast
uhhhh bro thats a real thing though, was a real attraction for years, I saw it as a kid, I think in real life its called the robo saurus or something but thats what the simpsons were parodying.
Great video! But I can't believe that you didn't mention the best single rule ever written for a wargame: THE RULE OF CARNAGE! Basically it says that when in doubt about how to resolve any situation while playing the game, just chose the option that would cause more chaos and destruction 😂😂😂
Ah gaslands, I still remember my best car was a heavily armored bus with a bunch of people in it armed with rifles and molitovs. I had a special ability that allowed me to use long straight at any gear.
Gaslands is great if you like ANY of the following: easy to learn rules that are neither too shallow nor too complex, minimal requirements to play, converting toy cars into weird contraptions of MEGADEFF, relaxed gaming. Correction: the game is only published by Osprey Games, all the development is solely on Mike Hutchinson. P.S.: Nobody ever thought about adapting Rainbow Road for Gaslands, nu-oh. Don't dare you google for "Mario Kart Gaslands"... P.P.S.: If you like skirmish games, converting and deamons in general, I can highly recommend "Reign in Hell"!
I'd like to recommend two other games from Osprey, A Billion Suns a mini-agnostic space ship combat game and Castles in the Sky an Alt History Flying Warship game, both have been a blast for me and my mate, the first we did a 10 mission long campaign with and the latter we have just started a campaign for.
I was describing this game to my landlord the other day and she didn't get the DIY aspect at first. "You mean you only buy the rules and then you have to just build everything?" At least she didn't until I said "Take a Solo cup. That's a mountain. You put up a bunch and that's a mountain range. You stack a few Jenga pieces together and that's a storage container. You can force your opponent's hot wheel car to ram into it face first and it might explode!" Then she got it.
This is interesting, I'll have to check it out. In terms of other "model agnostic" or 3rd party systems, I'd recommend One Page Rules, of course. But if you want another game system with models to add to your Pile of Shame, might I suggest Conquest Last Argument of Kings?
@PaulIsBadAtStuff It's really good, I've only played a bit myself, so I can't talk about the gameplay as much as I'd like. But I love the models and lore. If you want something to entice you further, they have a faction of Orcs riding Dinosaurs. If that doesn't sell you I don't know what will.
Funny thing, I saw a few people playing this just yesterday at my flgs, they were using warhammer models. The racers were some guard tanks + a knight armiger and some ork helicipters (forget what they're called).
I love X-Wing the miniatures game and wish I could play it more. If you like rolling dice and shooting Rebel scum it's the same concept with movement templates but there's an element of mind games of what maneuver you're going to perform. Lots of fun at the casual level.
TH-cam doesn't seem to like it when I do non-warhammer videos but also I don't care what youtube thinks lmao. As long as someone finds these interesting I'll make 'em
If you like games where players can use any beautiful models thet painted without getting unfairly tabled might I suggest Space Weirdos ir Stargrave? They are agnostic skirmishes so only one book needed and you can use any miniature. I heard good things about Xeno's Rampant too, which is a big agnostic skirmish wargame.
one of the first minis i made was a gaslands car with a marine shooting out of the car, i binned it in the trash with my big move as idk where i was gonna display it and it wasn't my fav display piece but damm i regret it q.q
I keep seeing people push this; this might be good for my family - table top is not typically the wife's thing! Guess I gotta get some matchbox cars ..
theres a new game coming out called bangarang in the gutterlands a robot fighting game by the same guy who made tonks bill making stuff has made videos on making a mini for it
I want to suggest Malifaux. Beautiful minis, card-based rng, fascinating and unique world and fun factions, I've had fun building and painting Malifaux for the past couple weeks!
I would recommend Kings Of War Armada. Game is very easy to pick up, alot of the stuff just makes sense on how the rules work, plus the ships look really cool.
I love it when 40k players find out about other systems and discover they can actually have fun gaming.
Sh-shut up! 😭

@EvanMain based on what I've seen and read, not really.

Stop motion replay of the game, you say?

Awesome video I love playing Gaslands. Building the cars is very fun as well
I think this video could use more photos of rainbow road
Gaslands looks like a lot of fun! I recommend Infinity from Corvus Belli.
this sounds absolutely perfect for getting a collection of ork themed vehicle minis😍
I run my technical task force. All pickup trucks with random weapon turrets.
Osprey games kick ass. My friends and I have had a blast playing Gamma Wolves with our gunpla
I love this game system, it’s a great thing to play on my colleges campus but it’s just such a hard sell to already dedicated wargamers
I love X-Wing the miniatures game and wish I could play it more. If you like rolling dice and shooting Rebel scum it's the same concept with movement templates but there's an element of mind games of what maneuver you're going to perform. Lots of fun at the casual level.
Snap Ship Tactics!
I need to see gaslands on rainbow road
Have you tried Tonks? I'd like to see a video on that. Cheers. An entertaining watch.
Reminds me of Vigilante 8 on playstation back in the day
I watched this video yesterday and today I ordered the book for gaslands and some cars to do up
I played a game last night. You've made the right choice. I blew a bus up with a BFG. 10/10
@@PaulIsBadAtStuff definitely got to get a BFG and try to do the same but knowing me I'll crash and burn out in the first lap
We had a single lap with 5 checkpoints. Very few cars made it to checkpoint 1. My advice - fire the BFG immediately. Carnage for the Carnage Gods!

This not a comment about Rainbow Road. Instead it is a comment agreeing with you about cheese and onion being a cursed flavour for crisps.
