I just found like 200 hotwheels cars from over a decade ago in my closet, this video has me hyped to do somthing with them.

Quick hint: Bottom part of the Pringels can gives a perfect armour material. Its a thin metal sheet, can be cut with strong scissors, can be bent by hand, can be punched with needles.

Any playing card generally works fine as well.
A really quick way to turn a "toy car" in to a "model car" is to spray the vehicle with a matt varnish. This knocks out those big toy reflections.
Who's Matt and where do you buy his varnish?
I once built two cars in a day and i figured “ya know…maybe ill matte finish some of these as a protective layer if that would even do anything.” Oh it did something…it paint-removed my frikin primer layer and the car looks like its in a constant state of paint removement lol
Super fun jump into the gaslands esthetic guys! Just wait until you start getting into some more substantial modifications of the base diecast. That's when you'll get hooked!

WHOAH, an Interstate76 shout-out? And I thought *I* was old.
Gaslands is a super fun game. We played it on my buddy's daughter's town play mat that happened to have a track on it, and quickly found out that the last turn that went right up to the edge of our table was "Dead Man's Turn" as EVERY car careened off it to their doom one-by-one. There were NO survivors... :)
Love Gaslands haha. My two most popular conversions have been a tractor with steel plates and mesh spike etcs and painted the iconic green, its name is "John Fear" and my other is a bunnings war rig with pointed ram, guns galore and even a BBQ on top of the trailer haha

The bus is a vehicle you can play and theres a pirate faction so a bus with cannons is a thing you can do and they have one in the rule book

I loved interstate 76 growing up, I remember the blueprint style menu for attaching upgrades to your car, I always thought it was really immersive and have wanted to see similar things in games ever since. Also one of the first constant stream of white hot bullets I can remember seeing in a game.

My friends and I play this a lot. One of my last teams was an Idris sponsored team. The car I used was Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 and I did a total speed build. My car was called "The Stig's Post-Apocalyptic Cousin." Performance car with a bunch of speed and handling perks and no weapons other than the one the driver gets.

So Syked don't know wether this video happened because I suggested it a few videos ago or if it's just chance but I am really happy
I always purposely glue the wheels on my gaslands cars. On the table you don't want them functional, or your cars will roll all over the place when you need them to keep their position for the game.

Just FYI -
Working wheels on gaslands cars are a real PITA. They make it super easy to accidentally bump the car to a new position. Especially when things are a bit crowded. That's just IMHO though. Some people seem to really prefer they work regardless.

great video but im gonna be honest dave, the engine block you glued to the hood is not a super charger, there are three schools of forced air systems for cars and thats not ether of them, couldnt help but point that out, but as people in the racing world used to say, no replacement for displacement, and the mustang can usually fit a v8 pretty well, so what ever motor that would be would have alot of just natural aspirated power

I made two gaslands cars without knowing the rules- one was based on a Prius I used to own. It was great fun to do and then to play- it’s so funny when it all goes wrong and you end up driving full speed into something.
Tip I stumbled across while being super-lazy painting a Gaslands car: paint the *inside* of the window black. It looks like it's super-tinted but still has the shine and depth of the original window.
Gaslands is so GOOD! been playing it at my club for a while now after converting everyone there to the cause :P vroom vroom :P

Been playing for a couple of years. It's the first miniatures game that I've played, and it blew me away. Love that it's receiving the attention it deserves!
The game is loads of fun and you will want to glue the wheels for easyer playing so the cars don't move around if someone nudges the table :D

i would love to give gaslands a go. I have heard of it before and have converted some old cars of my sons he wasn't using. I ended up using them in a post - apocalyptic Dnd campaign where goblins raced them against my players.... my players won a car in the process. yeah i do a lot of weird stuff in my dnd campaigns. My cars had spikes on them made from toothpicks
Dunno about "Gaslands" but I am digging out all my old GW "Dark Future" toy car conversions. Built loads, mainly sports car based cop cars and supercar (Lambos, Ferraris, McLarens etc) for Sanctioned Ops vehicles. Pretty sure they can be repurposed.

Gaslands look fun! I'm currently planning a oneshot from Atomic Highway which has a very similar vibe, but isn't entirely focused on vehicular combat.
If you liked those Lego tanks at the beginning you should check out Brikwars. A fan-made (i.e. former Lego employee) table-top wargame rules for battling with Lego and other toys. It pretty fun
oh my GOSH this was by far my favorite intro bit to a video on this channel. It reminds me of my sister and I going around and seeing all the new toys that weren't around while we were kids!! I loved this a lot!!
This game is frikin amazing, im rarely able to get people to play but when i do its just war crimes in 1-64th scale🤣 i recently got a creality ender 3v2 printer and it and my macbook has been working overtime on fusion (please that wasnt a flex) and ive made about 8 cars in the last 7 days…its so fun! My favorite one ive ever made is a school bus where i used tiny round magnets to hold the guns in place so they can rotate, ive been using that trick since on a lot of things

This is my first exposure to gaslands and im HOOKED. After seeing this video i went out and kitbashed two cars immidiately!
Bought the rule book a year and a half ago. Haven't played yet, but spent days converting cars and making the scatter terrain and gates and templates with my mates. We're making them non-rolling so they don't move between turns.
Are micromachines and Jada Nano Hollywood rides compatible in size?

The game is mini agnostic so you should be good to go. You'll just match them up the best you can to stats in the rule book. Very much rule of cool you didn't mess anything up.

I know its not exactly the same genre, but im surprised never to hear references to The Cars that Ate Paris, as at least some inspiration for Gaslands vehicles.
You should really glue the wheels so they don't rotate anymore... much easier with the templates. Played game with a friend who didn't glue his wheels and that was not very convenient... as for the rest of the builds, they look awesome and how they look and what their stats are does not matter much

It was fun to watch you guys buy Hot Wheels for the first time. Imagine doing it when you were seven like us old folk.
