One thing that really helps me stop the run is usering the lb that is on the opposite side of where they are running because it brings in an extra defender

Why do my receivers refuse to catch/hold on to the ball
this game is defintely one of the worst maddens yet, running with good running teams doesnt work and throwing a ball into any traffic what so ever results in a INT, aswell, defense just warps around running backs who r trying to block all the time

Run plays don't always work, in real football most run plays gain you like 2-3 yards at max. You have to time run plays and read the defense, set a run play to your audibles and watch out for gaps in the defense.
Pass plays are rarely an interception for me, usually only if I throw a bad pass. A deep pass has basically got a 20% chance of being caught, a 20% chance of being picked and a 60% chance of going incomplete, again, just like in real life. You don't see quarterbacks slinging the ball all over the field and receivers grabbing it. It's a tactical play and if you throw into man coverage in a deep streak it's basically always 50/50, just like in real life.
This year madden is more realistic than ever.
Finkel - Funk yes with run plays you have to find the holes and follow your blockers literally I’ve gotten about 50 to 60 yards a run just got to have good vision like a running back should but I mix it up though maybe run 1st play slant another deep pass... gotta keep that defense guessing and unbalanced throw some trick plays in there as well maybe come out like you gonna throw deep but audible to run play or run play audible to pass like I said keep that defense guessing and try not to be one demotional and yes don’t be afraid to throw ball downfield is a plus

The team I like using is the saints I love getting my running backs out in space like how they use Alvin Kamara and still have a power runner in mark Ingram but still shred the defense with good route running receivers

If you are a passer I recommend going to the pats playbook I used to use the Seahawks playbook and I would not win very much but I switched and now I win a lot. I customized the playbook and added my bread and butter plays from the Seahawks playbook

A great tip is learning how to run defensive adjustments super quickly. I can’t tell you how many hurry up offenses I’ve been able to stop by being able to have every player on my defense do exactly what I want them doing

A.dont use the same plays unless they are trash
5.Mix up your plays
A.You never know when they will catch on
6.Learn how to improve your defense
A.learn how to use your linebacker

Good tips. I’d add learning opponent offensive tendencies. If they continuously go short, use hard flats & a QB spy while you user the deep route to the side they generally favor.
John Eustice . The most important thing is just knowing that the first drive or two may not always be the prettiest and you may give up a TD but once you learn everything the opponent is doing, you can stop it unless they’re really good at covering it up but most people arent

IM A BETTER RUNNER SO I DID A RUN FORMAT AND 2 COVER PLAY AND I WON. 23-20. I’m not a very good defense kind of guy but I did end up getting a pic in the end of the 4th which messed his whole game up. He started throwing deep passes and actually got a touchdown and could of won but I had two minutes left and waited until there was 3 seconds to kick a field goal and won. Very good video.

When my friends or opponents talking me out of my game to passing I lose, but you have to be mentally tough & do what’s best for you, that’s when I started winning more. 💥🙌🏾👍🏾

The Best tip I could give to anyone In madden is to RUN THE FREAKING BALL and have some go to passing plays that u save for crucial situations. Guarantee u will win 90% more games!

I mean don't get me wrong this is probably a very helpful guide to a lot of people but guys like me that literally know nothing about this game and sport and are trying to understand it are struggling with terms/words you are using. I want to learn this game so bad but If I have to be real I don't get it because of all the difficult words I don't know! Eric screen passes used to torch me for big yards all the time and I could not figure out how to stop them. My opponent would just spam WR and HB screens and I could not do anything. Then I watch your how to stop screens video and it really helped!! Thank you and keep the great content going!

Real madden players do what they want.
EricRayweather nope. I was part of a madden community where we would develop schemes for weaker teams and dominate with them. We would also try to make it universal for every team. We would break down every single roster on every single teams and we would find players that were rated in the 60's and make them studs in the scheme. That's a true challenge. Scheme and play calling over anything else.

Anand Vyas I didn't own the site, so I wouldn't be able to tell you how much the founders made. It has been shut down since, the original founder passed away from cancer. In regards to the tournaments, I personally never joined any. I did break into the top 200 players in the world, beating top 20 players on my way there. We had other members there as well, that's what we focused on mainly. All of this was done using inferior teams as well.

Here is my tip for stopping a screen pass. The best defense of stopping a screen pass is to play man on man. When play man on man, your CB will press on the WR and stay on that player. You can catch a lot of pick 6 that way.

Learn user with your LBs and know when to blitz!.lol. Also run the ball even if you only get 1 yd keep running,it will open up the pass and play action! Mix up your schemes on both sides of the ball!! Ok go play.

Here's a crazy idea... Use your favorite team in Madden. I've used my Bucs in every Madden and am usually in the top 1% every year. Play for the love of the game not just the easy W.
Or, play the way that makes you happy. That's kind of the point of that statement. If winning makes you happy, play with the teams that maximizes your strengths. The statement you just made was the exact reason I said what I said in the video, there's no "right" or "wrong" way to go about it. You don't have to always use your favorite team in a video game, even though some people will try to make it sound like you're wrong for not doing so.
This year's madden feels slower and harder to score. My games are under 25 pts both teams combined
How can I fix the player switch? For instance, when defending a pass, and I have a defender covering the wr and another defender in the area, I try to click to the player that's underneath the receiver to make a play on the ball but it gives me the one that's over the receiver and when I press X to swat I end up diving because they switched me to the man overtop instead of underneath. So not only is neither one making a play on the pass but the defender that would make the tackle in case the receiver makes the catch and cuts upfield is laying on the ground cause I dove too early when I didn't even want to dive in the first place. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. Is it just a matter of me needing to be faster when switching? Been bothering me for years.
As far as I know you can’t control which defender it’ll go to. I just wait to see which player I end up on before pressing buttons. When you change into them they will keep doing what they’re doing, but once you press something you take over control. So just wait be positive who you’re on then try to make your play. I usually try to just swat though cause it will sometimes knock ball out of receivers hands.
Wait, some people don't user there linebackers? LOL. But really, I see this online too and I still almost don't believe it. Makes a defense so easy to shred. They think that blitz is gonna get home every time. As if a simple protection adjustment or quick pass won't kill that noise.

I had Madden 17 before this so i skipped madden 18 so this is probably why this game is harder and before I got madden 17 I had Madden 14. Yea big leap from 14' to 17' to 19' but anyways i'm saying that I hope this video will help me get better!

Love playing Franchise Mode but everytime i play on Pro i'm able to beat all times by a wide margin (even when i tried starting a 50 ovr team) and when i play on All Pro i just lose all games no matter what team i'm using

I’ve always been a solid madden player against my friends and am pretty strong defensively. One of the problems I have is when people run crossing patterns on the inside. I user my mlb but I don’t understand how to pick up the other receiver? Help please
2BKnoWn Pay attention to your defenders , because 1 of those receivers have to run into your zone so you have to play first slant until he gets close to the hard flat / cloud flat or vertical hook or whatever you in and once he’s almost there go to the second read and if he takes the first read the defender should either force incomplete pass or intercept it
Pay attention to the responsibility of your user defender and trust your other zones. Cover one receiver just long enough until he’s passing your zone and then get back to the receiver entering your zone. Having pressure is also key

when high pointing the ball, do I switch on to the receiver and hold triangle? Because I've been throwing to Julio and he's not as dominant as he should be against CBs like Trufant, Peterson, and rhoades

When I play defense, I can stop offenses and usually keep them to 0-17 point but mainly 13 but my offense average points since madden 25 is 17 which isn’t that good since my defense is keeping the opponent around the same score. My run offense is terrible and my passing game is good until I get to the opponents side

This video helped me a lot and I know I’m late to the party but I’m a pass heavy player in mut and I’ve been trying to find a playbook that utilizes the slot receiver all the playbooks I tried so far don’t use the slot enough for me so does anyone have suggestions
okay I have a few questions.
1. Why the fck my reciever cannot catch the ball when he is open and ball is going straight to reciever's hand and of course i press X button?
2. For example today my kicker and punter cannot do kicks properly (I always kick fieldgoals and punts in a really good way. For 4 weeks I missed fieldgoal once cuz it was 55 or 57 yards field goal). Yesterday, few days ago, a week ago everything was fine.
3. Why 5 linemans and tightend cannot stop 4 of dlinemans? I cannot understand what is going on.

For some reason. I played against a 73 overall team as a 83 and lost 20-17. Later that day I made a terrible team vs 85 overall as a 59 overall and won 42-24. Wtf

I have a question wen ur playing madden 4 money is it cheating for a player 2 switch playblook from the original teams playbook. And is it ok 4 the team that’s choosing his defensive play to use coach suggestion after the person on offense has already picked his play. Coach suggestion puts the defense n the best formation 2 match the offense. Can somebody plz help me understand
