Great video! I always prefer real-life NFL concepts applied to Madden. I play Madden because I love football, not the other way around.
I can honestly say over the years I have struggled with Madden defense and in my 32 man league there are coaches that just dominate the league. Every year they finish out at 12-4 or better...they usually beat me pretty bad. I liked the concept in this video and implemented it. Eric...you did a great job man. This defense has been causing havoc in my league and if I can get my offense together I just might have a chance to make the playoffs and get over .500 more often. Yesterday I played the Bengals(Im Seahawks) who were 4-0 and 14-2 last season. I was up 7-3 at the half. The final was 23-21...and that was because I threw 4 picks and one was a pick 6....this is a direct message from that coach...."Only thing I did all game was a dump off to Mixon for the td. Other than that, incredible performance by you on defense. Thought I lost that one

Great tips but 2 things is that especially on franchise on all madden you don't have enough time to shift linebacker and move safetys and much less pick the plays. And when you user lurk and your right there where the ball at you time the ball everything and don't get the picks and dude catch it
My defense is pretty good but when I start facing offenses that pass really good, I give up 20-30 points when every other team is 3-17 points. The worst part is that I usually score 10-20 points which can be bad

I'm from Baltimore so I tried to see if I could be effective in madden with the stuff the ravens are effective with in the NFL it's very effective if you scheme it properly like you said dont send heat or the same play all game.. awesome vid tho bro
I did the same thing I just feel like corners get burned deep too much this year!
@@chrisheck2379 I go into individual adjustments and back off my corners it seems like a lot to get iin before snap but once you get used to it it doesn't take long I can get all of the done before they get to the line of scrimmage.. my setups are base align show blitz pinch lbs slant dline outside QBs contain and back corners off try it out bro it's crazy good I get so many picks from ppl running deep streaks

Yessir! i figured this out about a month ago and it works pretty good as long as you mix it up. and just like real life, the better players do a better job of dealing with it. Good vid E-Ray!
Listening to your tips got me to top 20 head to head mut seasons. With this I'll be number one in no time. And by the way i get why the Pro players say the game is broke they play for money, but for regular degular Madden players to me the game is fine, if you think the game is dead your probably trash.

You can do this in almost any formation .. it’s just adjusting

Yo man...this is exactly what I've been looking for. I think I'm decent on defense but I lacked a strong blitzing technique. Employing this into my scheme now but one question...have you reversed engineered this setup and if so what beats it?

On theory this would be great against the typical pro style offenses but against those who like to run the spread will be able to have success on this. You give up a lot of leverage in this alignment any quick route to the outside will force you to have to change your alignment
Any experienced madden player know how to beat this defensive formation, all you need to do is go with a 2 TE set and work the flats

What base defense would you recommend for somebody who never plays online & really only plays against friends & francise mode on All Madden.. I'm lookin for something easy to set up cuz I'm slow at setting up stuff that has a ton of adjustments & also looking for a good coverage defense on obvious passing downs.. Thanks man!

The best way to play defense right now is big nickle G any play. Sub your best pass rushers in at ends. Pinch dline, crash em out and hover over center...EA gotta patch that
That is a very annoying defense right now I agree.

That's why you user it yourself and bait a bad throw. Also, if you listen to what I said, you don't blitz everytime. You blanket the field on some calls, it's a guessing game. In real football, there's areas of the field wide open when they blitz too, that's how blitzes work. You're banking on getting to the QB before he can make the right read.

This is how I play D. This formation an Nickel 345 AA Gap
You can run I form strech on this.. If the madden Gods are on your side you'll run for over 200 yards..
You can run stretch on pretty much anything now. If somebody is stretching you to death, you wanna try to only use this on passing downs.
Ignore that a player was open every play and he didn’t throw it because he is controlling the offense
Because in a real game I would be manually covering that player, seeing as I wouldn’t have to control the offense for video purposes.

Why not? Real life teams are just now starting to do things that Madden players have done for ages. There's plenty of similarities. And I wasn't comparing Madden to real life in this video, I was comparing the idea. What the Ravens do in real life is crowd the line in hopes to confuse inexperienced QBs, same way I'm crowding the line here trying to confuse inexperienced players. The defense are not at all the same, the idea is.
We want more 4-3 plays. 3-4 is not used much
You don’t have enough time to do all that in online most people snap it within 5 seconds of breaking the huddle
You can set this up in 3 seconds. Gotta practice getting your adjustments done faster.

Play over the top and outside or inside based off the tendencies you have seen from your opponent.
Lol you NEVER have that kind of time to make that many adjustments pre snap with defense. Offense yea bc you control the snap.
You have plenty of time to make those adjustments, you just have to get faster. I can set this up before the offense gets to the line of scrimmage. It's even easier this year because they slowed down how quick the offense can even get to the line, very easy to set this defense up if you just practice.
What I'd like to know is, I don't want to have the camera looking over the opposing team's quarterback's shoulder, I want the camera looking over my MLB's shoulder. What idiot coded this BS?
