Facts about this Animation:
I used Blender to create and animate this scene. I created all of the assets, excluding Toothless (who was made by Fulonimation Studios), and animated the entire sequence by myself specifically for this project. This project took about a month and the animation took about 20 hours to render. I hope you enjoy it :)

I feel like toothless's tail should have been one normal what it should look like and have the other be full black with splashes of blue (bc, his "taill paint" is made from a mix of his scales) but I really love this animation please keep making more in the future :)

I find it both hilarious and saddening that some relatively obscure TH-cam animator, who likely made this all on their own with a nonexistent budget, somehow managed to successfully capture the size, elegance, and complexity of the environment of the Hidden World so, SO much better than the very company who first conceived it.
Why couldn't Nine Realms offer us something like *THIS* instead of what we got???
In the nine realms the world was changed because of the weathering and erosion. It is 1, 300 years later in that show, the hidden world can't always look the same.

@savannahforster3528 the Nine realms is badly done and we all know that. The realms don't make any sense (even in a fictional world things have to make some sort of sense). I agree with the comment, the things that the fandom does are just So Much Better then what they came up with :/. It's just sad

I can’t thank you enough for this. School has been really hard for me lately as I have had trouble keeping my grades up and I’ve been really stressed out. Going to yesteryear me’s dream has brought me the peace I’ve needed. I may only be a child (12 1/2 to be precise) but the nostalgia is real. As much as I wish to be with Toothless forever I know I do not belong in the realm of dragons but I can come back to that dream-like state of flying with dragons the way younger me always dreamed.

I always wanted to be a dragon after I watched HTTYD and fly around and you gave me that experience and it felt so real that I was smiling the whole time so thank you for making my day❤
Very good! The sense of scale is wonderful, and i love the little details like him looking back! If I'd have to nitpick, I'd suggest working on the flapping animation, having the wings bend a little more (took me a looong time to figure it out, but the downstroke is stiff, and coming up, they should bend more- think about lifting them from the 'wrist' if that makes sense), and look at counterbalance whrn it comes to turning or diving. (For example, the front of the wings tilts up as he flaps once to slow down, to control his dive better, or a slight tilt right before he really leans into a left turn or even rolls!)
You're gonna go far, and I'm hoping to be able to watch your journey ^^

And yeah, I agree with the wing flapping/tilting and such. It's been bothering me since I saw the final render XD
I thought I made them more pronounced, but it just didn't come through in the final render. By the time it had finished rendering (and I saw the result since the file was already super "heavy"in the viewport, making it really hard to make any final adjustment), I had already spent way more time rendering it/trying to fix it than I wanted. So I decided to cut my losses and try to finish the video before my tests/finals.

i wanted this to feel like real for me so i made a homemade VR helmet with carboard and placed my phone inside.

Yeah, I agree. I think it would've distracted from what's going on around you if the camera was set on another dragon. Plus there's the motion sickness part XD

I really loved the animation it was so detailed all though I would have like to see the eggs and I notice that in the movie the giant crystal is pink and peach also it was a lot taller with spikes. if you go in geometry nodes you can get this color. The last thing that i was disappointed was no dragons. I know that a computer can get over run with all the things but you could try getting just the models without bone. I though did like toothless animation because it was smooth and the animation was actually fun, creative, original, well thought out and pleasurable. Sorry, it's long.

This is stunning. The only thing I can say about this is the wings look way too stiff. Looks like they have the shoulder joint at the body, then the 'wrist' joint where all the fingers spread out to the wing, this seems to be where all your bend is... but you lack an elbow joint that should be about where the wrist one is. This makes the wing very stuff as it only gains one point where it can 'bend' half way down the wing. I would recommend looking closer at the movie or look at bats for a more real world example. This is NOT meant as a 'hate' thing or any of that so I hope you're one who can take criticism for what it is: advice to LEARN and improve from for next time. Aside the stiff wings, everything else was fluid and just breathtaking. I hope you continue making nice animations like this and continue to improve!

Yes, I can take criticism, and I fully agree; the wings are too stiff. I thought I had animated them better while working on this, but the final render didn't look like what blender's viewport was showing me.
Oh well. I learned a lot making this animation, so future ones will, hopefully, be better.
