I have an old Presbyterian Book of Common Worship I found among the boxes of discarded books donated to our now extinct church library in San Salvador. It was published in Philadelphia in 1946. It is gorgeous. There are several versions or orders for morning and evening worship for adults, as well as guides for children, for youth, special prayers, funeral services, guides for holy communion, marriage, baptism, ordination, installation, dedication of a church building, etc. Each order of worship has a prayer of confession and assurance of pardon, of thanksgiving as well as supplication. It has the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostle’s Creed at the beginning.

Thanks for this interview, Jon. I know it's a little bit awkward with areas of disagreement, but I appreciated it and gained from it. I have contacts with people who are Catholics and I know they're believers because of exactly the kind of responses Robinson gave in his interview: disarmingly back to Scriptural basics. We might disagree on a number of things, but the reliance on the Spirit to the glory of Christ is evident and deeply appreciated.

I walked in and there were no pews, this beautiful old church was empty except that where the altar used to be was a skate ramp and at the back of the church was a DJ booth. I was deeply saddened. Soon thereafter, a green haired woman with peircings all over her face said; "this is a construction site, I'm going to have to ask you to leave" to which I replied; "it looks more like a destruction site to me"

How can you be a defender of all faiths, as if they were all the same? Islam is opposed to any teaching of the Christian Trinity - so how can you defend both? Jon, you and Calvin hit upon something pretty profound. There is this allergy that "Protestants" have towards what I can only refer to as the trappings of RC worship and churches. This is not to say that some RC trappings do appear to be anti-Biblical (e.g., priestly vestments, prayer candles, holy water, indulgences, iconography, Maryism, saintism, storehouse of grace, state of grace, absolution). While liturgical service, incense, corporate responsive confession of faith and sin, the Psalter, are Biblical or have Biblical analogies. Martin Luther referred to the imposition of the various austerity measures in European churches of the time, as they were transitioning to some form of Protestantism, with his derisive "enthusiasts" label. As Calvin described it, "throwing the baby out with the bath water." In so many ways, Protestantism has rejected so much of the Old Testament, its Law and practices, forgetting that Jesus, the Apostles, and the ministers of Jesus' day had only the Old Testament from which to preach and in accordance with to worship. It seems as though the "enthusiasts" won the day to the detriment if a more Biblical and complete honoring and glorifying of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Would be interested in hearing further Biblically-based discussions concerning this notion or phenomenon.
    Many thanks in Christ Jesus.

Great interview Jon. Sounded very solid … until the end when Catholicism was ‘approved of’?
As far as I know, they believe in unbiblical things such as purgatory and during the mass, that they are sacrificing Christ all over again (literal blood & body of Christ). That was a good place to cut things short …

    • @sunflowerman3528

No one believes Christ is being sacrificed multiple times, however we are participating in the one sacrifice at each and every Mass where Christ is truly present in a mysterious way in the bread & wine which become the true body & blood with the consecration.

If I may, having formerly attended an ACNA church (none available in my current area), when you seek out a copy of the BCP, be sure that it is dated no later than 1789 for the USA. The reason this is important is that it is the first revision post-American Revolutionary War. This is important because in the 1789 version for the USA, its alterations largely remove the Monarchy (in this case the King of England) as the preeminent head of the American Church (Episcopal) which is obvious. This version retains all the rest of the truths of the original 1662 English version of the BCP. If you stray into later editions, truth begins to get watered down and by the time you reach the 2019 version, much of the strength of the Gospel and the Church is lost (at least that's my opinion).

May Calvin continue to grow and mature in the truth of Christ. Jesus (Yashua) would not recognize the various religious groups that do not follow our Heavenly Father (Yahweh) and His Biblical Instructions and Plan laid out for us like a blueprint. Ask yourselves are you really following Jesus (Yashua) who is the Pattern Son, or fallen men, who are deceived by the god of this world? Yashua is the WAY back to our Heavenly Father (Yahweh) and gives us TRUTH; and LIFE after resurrection from the dead. Yahshua is coming back as the King of kings and those who OVERCOME Satan's MANY deceptive religious seductions in the Church will inherit the earth. Are you preparing to rule and reign with Him?

Food for thought... Read what Luther and Calvin taught and preached on the "Blessed Mother" ~ I think you will be quite surprised and astonished!! 😮

Ok, Jon, I was enjoying this and got about 14 minutes in. Then I stopped to look up more info on him. I found the video titled below, which raised some red flags.
Why is he going along with the term "LGBT community"? (As if there's such a thing.)
Why is the title of this "hijacked"? The entire Alphabet Flag IS sexual degeneracy. It's not "hijacked."
Why does he say at the last part:
    2:54
"It's a great shame for those within the LGBT communities who did fight for their rights decades ago. They must feel such embarrassment at what their movement has become, hijacked by sexual degenerates."
    Title of the video:
'Pride Month has been hijacked by sexual degenerates!' | Calvin Robinson

This was quite good. Calvin represents but one of the "streams" of Anglicanism - there are also Evangelical, Charismatic, and Anglo-Orthodox believers in the Anglican communion. What unites us is the 39 articles (which contain a very high view of Scripture) and the prayer book.

Jon, please be so careful with liturgy and traditions of men, no matter how much they seem to glorify God. Satan has used it again and again and again to usurp the hearts of men and lead them astray. Because of your awesome and blessed ministry, you are definitely in His crosshairs

They were Church of England priests and had no intention of leaving C of E and forming a new denomination. But C of E would not allow them to do the outreach and preaching outdoors so the had to leave. It was one of John Wesley’s greatest regrets. More to it but a very simplified version
