Right on congrats!!! It’s so quick, solid ride, I love it too. I did two days of commuting, then towed the boat and drove around town a bunch. Then three more days commuting and still was at 26-27 mph. So awesome for a truck.
@@BassRaider that's legit! I won't be towing anything really, so no need for the tow package. I actually didn't even order mine, I told the dealer to call me asap if you get one, they did and I bought it, 150 Mile drive to go get it and it was love at first site hah

Whoohoo! I have a Discovery 1650 with that same trailer, and have an XL Ecoboost AWD showing up this week, so it's nice to see nearly the same setup! I also now know where I have to mount my spare tire holder :) -- How was the view out the backwindow with the boat height?
That boat is over 1/2 the weight of the Maverick. I would consider trailer brakes or a surge brake to be on the safe side. Nice little truck you got there!
Luckily there is a trailer brake control on the Maverick so I could go that route at some point. I had been towing the boat with my Highlander for almost two years with no problems though. They weigh just about the same. We’ll see, thx.🤙🤙
Awesome truck! What length rods do you have? I have rods up to 7'5. I'm hoping they i can fit them like you have but unsure if they are too long to fit. Please, let me know what's the longest rod you carry on the Maverick. Thanks!
@@BassRaider Awesome to hear. I'm primarily interested in getting one for fishing. I plan to drop my 10ft kayak in the bed and haul a boat similar to yours as well. It's really going to be a truck for my fishing adventures.
I'm thinking hard about getting a one and my 2060 jon boat with a jet haul and jet drive isn't all that all that heavy as it not over fancy just big but pulling it out of the water at the rive can be hard for my old 1991 Nissan hardbody. A few ramps I had to dump the boat to save the truck a few times... more then I want to say. But I love my small truck and this looks like the last of them that could replace my old hardbody pickup. How was it on the wet ramp steep ramp is what I'm really needing to know. Calling friend with big 2500 diesel truck to pull you out is possible but it's a little embarrassing. One time I did have cell service leaving my boat tied off hope it okay it was thankfully.
So I took it to another lake with a much steeper ramp and it pulled the boat out no problem. Then recently the lake on this video had a bunch of debris and muck all over the launch ramp. I saw it and was worried because the same thing happened a year ago and the two wheel drive Highlander which was spinning wheels and having trouble pulling the boat out. I had to call my buddy also but I wound up getting some help. So back to the Maverick in the same situation and it had no problem at all with the AWD. I drove in a couple really bad rain storm recently also and that AWD is really really nice. No hydroplaning at all.
I have a similar boat, and I've been eyeballing these, Rangers, Colorado/Canyon, and Toyota trucks. Currently I pull my boat with my old 03' F-150 with the 5.4 V-8. Love my old truck, but I generally don't take it much beyond 3-4 hours from home on a trip, so I'm looking at my next tow vehicle.....may look at another F-150, because I'm not sure these trucks are up to the task of towing a 16' Alumacraft 1650 on a shorlandr' trailer without eventually destroying the drivetrain.
Ha nice! I had a 2004 F150 with the same engine. Absolutely loved it. I have to admit the Maverick tows this 16 foot Crestliner great! It’s really good with the AWD. I tow the boat 2-3 times a week also. I really don’t feel like it’s under powered at all towing the boat.
@@BassRaider ahhhh the 5.4 with those notorious cam phasers. I have the one that is notorious for blowing spark plugs, haha. I'll have to test drive a maverick and see how it goes. My wife and I are also looing at getting a Subaru outback for the longer trips. The old Ford is a great pickup to haul lumber, pull the boat, and daily drive.
I have the same truck but without fx4. Boat is on order so July I get to tow. Question do you have a 2” drop hitch? Level? My trailer will be a easy loader 16’ boat. Cheers
Yep pretty sure a 2 inch drop. It tows so good man. I’m towing the bait 2-3 times a week. Tow mode makes it really easy too. Obviously the mileage isn’t as good towing but commuting it’s pretty solid just under 30 mph. I’m at about 10,000 miles and I absolutely love this truck. I’m a former F150 guy🤙🤙
