I think the best part about this movie is that Anne isn’t food, Kong also doesn’t see her as a “mate”. He just sees her as a friend and is scared and alone. He wants his friend because he’s confused and afraid of this new world.
This Kong is more portrayed as a gorilla, and gorillas are used to close social bounds. Ann was the first thing in years that served as anything close to a companion so his attachment makes sense.
@@sciencefantastic agreed! This is my favorite King Kong. It seems referenced in Godzilla VS Kong in the intro sequence. If THIS Kong was proportional to the one in the MonsterVerse, it would have been a closer fight between Kong and Godzilla.

I always knew Peter Jackson’s King Kong was a amazing movie but the bit at 5:42 was when I realised that this movie is more than just a great movie! and it’s not just from what’s going on, it’s from the music being played in the background, the camera angle how it’s in a slightly birds eye view, and in the place it’s set which is New York City and we have a giant Beast chasing Human in a car. Sometimes people forget at that bit that a minute ago, Jack and his crew was in a island called Skull island and people don’t make it out of there alive. But not only did they make it out of there alive and made it back to New York, but King Kong did to. Such a amazing movie is worth watching and making!
Kong’s “choreography”, if you will, during this movie is so realistically captivating. Even moreso when you consider far advanced CGI for this movie at the time it was released I love how realistic Kong’s breaking of the chain is!
its because the studios aren't putting in the effort and deadlines to reach, while this movie took its time perfecting everything to the scenery to just small details, while kong skull island was just a money grab with few good details and rushed production just to make a quick buck, the fact that this movie is still comparable to new movies today that should have better cgi is beyond me.

@@legendarykgc8490 KONG would win hands down
I think the best part about this movie is that Anne isn’t food, Kong also doesn’t see her as a “mate”.

How did they even get permission by the government to bring a giant gorilla back to New York and put on display in weak shackles not 20 feet away from a live audience
Because authorities were as impressed by the ape as everyone else

True! It gives you everything you could ask for in a good movie.

Anthony Allen Did you ever try out the 1933 version as well as the 1976 version??
I never knew why but I've always loved Jack. Now I'm realizing he has the biggest balls of anyone, taking on Kong like that when everyone else is scattering haha! Adrian Brody did a great job here.
Also I guess he did a lot of his own stunt driving for this sequence so that's extra badass!
This movie was way better than Kong Skull Island that's for sure
It followed the original extremely closely. Saw it in the cinema and bought the DVD.
No they killed kong and made me cry
The Batman it’s also because you actually cared about king king and the characters, in kong skull island the characters were soo bad
@@ksaeed2 You are getting no arguments from me, mate.
King Kong was supposed to be a remake. KSI was supposed to have kong in an alternative universe with a different origin story sharing the universe with Godzilla. It wasn't supposed to be another damn remake
Even moreso when you consider far advanced CGI for this movie at the time it was released
I love how realistic Kong’s breaking of the chain is!
How does this Kong CGI look more realistic than the one in Skull Island and Godzilla vs Kong? This movie is almost 20 years old
I wouldn’t say more realistic but it’s definitely as good as current cgi
This is shit compared to those
its because the studios aren't putting in the effort and deadlines to reach, while this movie took its time perfecting everything to the scenery to just small details, while kong skull island was just a money grab with few good details and rushed production just to make a quick buck, the fact that this movie is still comparable to new movies today that should have better cgi is beyond me.
Because this Kong was modeled after a real gorilla
Lmao nostalgia glasses, people talk shit of New CGI, but Remember the Mummy 2 And Sharknado CGI
I know it's just a movie, but love is powerful.

Even tho this movie was 3 hours long. Though out the whole movie you can't take your eyes off it. I like the camera work for when Ann is walking down the street. You can actually say Ann is Kong's Light beyond the tunnel. Cause it's only her no loud noises everything is calm. Just her and Him. Kong is in a strange new place and Ann keeps him calm. It was cool for a small time to see Kong play in the Snow with Ann after this scene. To see how happy he was around her.
