I am 51 years old and I am at that point, my middle daughter found a great guy and we hang out all the time. I played this song for him the other night and he looked at me said "I would never try to take your place, I am just trying to be the man she deserves." That meant the world to me. I am more then happy to hand her to him. I always thought there would never be anyone good enough for my girl but I could not have hand picked a better man for her.

On the flip side, there's no man that can measure up to their daddy. Fortunately there's enough room in her heart for both of you. Hopefully you'll come to trust her decision in picking a man that you will respect and with luck actually enjoy being around and can bond with. That happens by doing what you're doing, being the best dad you can be by raising them to be grounded, inquisitive, strong, young women with good values. Enjoyed your insight to being a girl dad. I feel the same with my son because most likely they will be closer with his bride's family and that's equally as gut-wrenching. 🥰
