I’ve watched a few TH-cam videos now and this seems like the easiest and best method. Keeps everything dry and keeps the roots and tree warm. Plus all the stuff should store fairly easy for next winter. Just brilliant!

As a palm enthusiast myself, this was a through presentation. Sometimes, instead of using C9 Christmas lights, I have used a single incandescent flood light bulb that has a spiked mount into the ground. Heat will rise warming everything under the structure. This was a heart warming presentation as well. I could tell that Dave is your brother and that you love your brother very much and that you look after him. Keep your enthusiasm and compassion.

Palm trees in Pittsburgh. Lol, unreal. My mother used to live in Avella. I’m from Carnegie, PA. I’m trying to keep coconut palms alive and producing in central Florida. Your video inspires me, if you can keep palms in PA, I’m sure I can keep coconuts alive and thriving in central FL.

ur windmills look really good! I just bought 2 and theyre about 2 feet. Im in york pa so my winters are like yours.
I have a question: would using sometihng like canvas work better then burlap to keep it insulated? Thanks.

I think the burlap would make the tree breath easily and much better

All my 15 palm trees are 15 ft high. How can I protect them from the winter.? All the methods I've seen it's too hard for me to reach!

Hey great palms. What do you do about watering them ? Or do they even need that at all during the winterization period ?

and He has Between 20 to 30 Palm trees and the survive.....the main thing is keeping them Warm & Dry and they will live..

Okay, I'll check HD, do you think they would have them out now (spring)? I'm guessing no, but, if you say yes, I'll go looking for them, just to have next winter. Thanks for replying

Just because we like palms doesn't mean we like Florida lol

You don’t have to “like” Florida, but you sure as hell are trying to act “like” Florida growing tropicals, kind of a dumb comment.
