!!!!NOT EARLY GAME ARMOR!!!! You have to beat the Draconic Tree Sentinel who's blocking the citadel gates. Then you have to beat Godrick AND Rennala for the runes to get in the door behind Draconic.
PLEASE, do not go into this thinking its easy-- especially if you're new to souls games. If you're a mage, then you should try getting the Carian Armor set WITH A FRIEND since the Finger Monsters or whatever tf are kind of rough. Or try the Sage Robes! They've got good stats and are easy to get too.

The carian armor is easy , i did it at a much lower level. barely take out some hard guards at the starting location, but kind of sneaked about and ran past some of the other foes . theres a good guide to get it somewhere , no foes need to be slayn to get the armor. nice if you want a look.

I spent 2 hours trying to beat the tree sentinel only to find out that I needed more great runes to get through the gate… 😕

@@morganwagner2259 If you're really struggling that boss is easy to cheese. Use the rotten Stray Ashes summon. (the single dog that gives enemies scarlet rot) as soon as the boss is infected run up the side of the wall to the right and wait for him to die.
Once you beat it, Rennala is easier imo
the tower of return teleport brings you to the capitol. if someone could show a route from that teleport point to the armor set, then 'early game' claim would hold up, id think, since its pretty quick and easy to get to the tower.
A year late, vut I'm pretty sure that the place that teleporter takes you is cut off from the rest of this city right? You can't get anywhere else from that area
@@matthijscalje4143 there is a bug exploit with the physick that let's you negate fall damage and get down there, I used it for my spike ball run and my lightning run

Agreed. The mage armor? It's more like mage bathrobes and priest pedophile blankets. Wheres the bad ass battle mage armor, like lightweight Elven armor? They totally missed the mark with mage gear. It's abysmal.

@@UsernameyMcUsernameFace is that mage gear? No, it's not. Most of the armor in the game is atrocious. Obviously the budget ran out when they got to armor. It's seriously pathetic.

You should cycle through the stats as well as the description of the armor, sometimes armor pieces will say they grant a bonus for wearing it.
Spellcaster with azur head is best

All piece of the armour set increase the effectiveness of thorn spells. To my knowledge there is only 2 in the game but it’s a pretty big buff from the set
Not sure but in the capital u don't get any flask filled when u wipe most or all mob groups so u have to rest in a grace when progressing

It's not bad stats if you're running an astrologer build. It's one of the best all around sets for mages
It's worse than the astrologer armor it's stats are lower overall I'm so annoyed over this....

Question for this set, do I need to have the whole set equipped for the extra dmg or can I change my helm and still get the effect from the other 4 pieces?
I think it’s usually only the helmets that give stats. Cycle through the pieces and see when the stats change

How do we tel if the armor gives a bonus I can't ever really tel what the armor does. I can only see the defense bounces it gives I play on PC
it gives bonus to blood spells, briars of sin and briars of punishmet. honestly just take azur or lusat set, better stats and spells they boost are actualy good and dont damage you (comet of azur boosted by azur set (duh) and stars of ruin boosted by lusat set).
in fact, only the crowns boost spells, so you can wear any other armor you want

So does anyone have a GOOD suggestion on some better sorcerer/mage armor. I’m so tired of still just being in basic armor.
There isn't any. Sorry. I'm a sorcerer also. The spells kick ass, but all of the armor is trash. Makes sense though, a mage is supposed to be squishy. Best bet is to level up your endurance enough to wear a heavier set. I currently wear the chest plate I got from beating radahn. I switch between that, blaidd's and the fat guy's armor that you get near where he is in this video

I hate that some of the better looking sets have horrible stats compared to the Azur set and the glintstone set.
You can get through to that area from somewhere else. It is to the left if the lift as you are looking toward it. You need to kill a dragon to get through but it is a fun area to explore.

What sword are you using here Cloud?
Thats the carian knight sword, found in a caravan chest on the western road in the Limuria lake region. It has an unchangeable carian grandeur skill and scales off of intellect so good sorcerer sword. Fun fact, this sword has a unique perk in that it blocks attacks on heavy wind up.

@@CloudPlays don't forget to mention the block on heavy attack! I haven't seen this perk with any other sword so far. But then again I'm an astro so not much in the way of experience with physical weapons.
Would the carian sword be better then the rogiers rapier+8 ?
I don't know wich would be better stat wise, but they are very different styles of weapons so decide based on wich one you prefer to use. Something else to consider is that while they both have the same weapon art skill, the rapiers can be switched and the carian sword skill is locked.

Just a heads up this area is not early game. The armor looks GREAT but honestly you should just encounter it naturally.

@@deanlokey most astrologer armor is weak. The robes you start with are about the best you'll see until you get azur's and lusat's. After those, you won't see much else that's worth using for anything other than fashion and a few niche instances.

What a clickbait! Why exactly is this a "must get" as you claim? Sure it looks cool, but the stats are hot gargabe for most players out there. I quote a smart comment on eldenwiki:
"This page (and the individual item pages) say they boost "thrown" sorceries. The in-game description says it boosts "thorn" sorceries, like the Staff of the Guilty. This seems to apply to the Briars of Sin and Briars of Punishment sorceries. Both the staff and the sorceries are faith based, so this seems like a niche armor set, not something for standard sorcerers."

The name of the game is Elden BLING baby. I have come to enjoy the crazy costumes we wear for the sake of a good build, but I always have a set of armor I wear most of the time based entirely off of aesthetic.
Also lightweight armor is nothing to scoff at. You may lose out on defense but you gain super dodge.
You're going to die anyway in two hits. At least this way you won't look like a clown when you do.

I'm so disappointed in this armors stats it's less than the starting astrologer outfit why would they design a cool looking mage outfit that's in a later game harder to get area that has lower stats than your starting armor if you picked astrologer.....
Because stats are meaningless... this is my fav. set honestly after it's altered with the sewing kit. It just looks great and reliably can put you down to fast or mid roll
@@michaelcarroll5801 I don't think the stats are meaningless I can't remember what they where at this point been awhile since I played but i vaguely remember the stats not being miniscule they definitely had an impact on how much damage you did and with specific types of spells.
@@thatguyfawkes2328 I usually just play naked or with light armor since most things kill you in two hits anyway. And yeah for min maxing casting builds its important to get the right helmet
