this is a good speedrun, but you can skip 0:00 - 0:05 by shooting the guitar player in the game's prequel, small iron, and then importing that save when starting your game.

New tech that might save you a few seconds: During the intro guitar, if you aim the Big Iron straight down while crouching, and shoot right when you walk onto any steep slope, the particle effects slow the framerate, which can clip you through the floor and respawn you directly in the Texas Red fight.
I like it, it actually still has the vibes edit: its been on repeat for a minute or two, its really damn good. Ty for the editing that keeps it an enjoyable listen

You see after hours upon hours of combing through Big Iron speedruns I noticed something was off about this specific run, the album art had me make a double take, and after some careful examination of pixel positioning, you can just barely make out a small inconsistency not present in the game. now this requires a highly trained eye so I don't blame most of the speedrunning community not noticing but carefully examining 0:03 you can barely make out that it says "I am speed", which is something I've only seen in heavily modded versions of the game. This is a disgrace to the speedrunning community and I WILL be contacting my lawyers
The use of the lyric skip in level 1-1 to clip right to the chorus is the most flawless ive ever seen in any big iron run so far. Definitely deserves to be on the leader board.

You can actually skip the "Had a big iron on his hip" part, however if you skip that part you cannot shoot Texas Red, as you do not have the big iron, meaning that you cannot complete Big Iron. If anyone can find a Texas Red skip, then the world record could be significantly lowered
There have been improvements to this in the past, rather than adding "the" most simply say to town. And as for had a big iron on his hip, another tough skip is to have it be big iron on hip. The next improvements added on were from to kill an outlaw. Instead "to kill outlaw" it saves about half a second, but in this short of a category everything helps. On top of this the entire next section can be skipped to simply say Texas Red. The last minor skip most ignore is "the" before outlaw. A harder to work skip is ranger shot outlaw. Both of these together save another half second. I hope these help in your next speedrun.
What I am imagining is like a random guy just comes speeding into the town on his horse then just jumps off his horse runs in to a bar full speed and just shoots Texas Red in the back of the head and then leaves
This is by far the best speed run for a couple reasons: 1. It gets all the story elements in and doesn’t skip the cutscenes. 2. All the other speed runs are cheated as all they have is “he dead” and nothing more. But. For a speed run to count it needs: 2.2 the story 2.3 no glitches Thank you that was my Ted talk.
good speed run but there is a glitch where you can shoot Texas red during the start of the game. While the guitar is playing you can shoot his hitbox when and which will kill him and instantly end the game because according to the games code as soon as Texas red dies the game ends. This is because while the game loads while the guitar is playing there is a couple seconds where all the npcs hitboxes are shown that you can interact with and Texas red hitbox should be a couple of yards from your starting point and therefore can shoot and kill.

He managed to do it so quickly because Big Iron is a revolver with a sinlge bullet reload mechanism, you can do this glitch with only a Big iron.

Swift range spent 5 minutes hopping on a barrel, then he no-clipped through a barn door right into the final level.
