I'm dying at all the Darius Rucker guesses. Sherlock Hound was significantly taller than Nick Cannon (who's 6'0") he's also way too slim to be Hootie. Body type just doesnt match at all. Pretty sure it's Bronson Arroyo the clues all match
The clues do kind of point in that direction (especially the “Number 1 Hit” shirt, as Creed did have a number 1 hit on the Hot 100 with “With Arms Wide Open”), but the only thing keeping me from going full in on Scott Stapp as my guess is the voice. Scott Stapp has a very distinctive baritone voice that is almost immediately recognizable (especially if you grew up listening to Creed as a teenager like I did). Like, if you had to describe what the epitome of the male alternative rock singing voice was for that era (late 1990s/early 2000s), Scott Stapp would be part of that “yarl” sound (up there with Eddie Vedder, Edwin McCain, and even Darius Rucker). I’m not quite hearing it here, although it is entirely possible he could be disguising his singing voice if it is him.

Apparently, his masked ambassador is Barry Zito-which to me indicates that this could be Bronson Arroyo. And yeah, Bronson grew up in southern Florida/the Keys, so I think the southern accent is very genuine. I don’t think that this is Darius Rucker, because though his voice may fit the bill, his body type doesn’t seem to match and I cannot think of any connection that he has had to Barry Zito.
