    It was fun to see some B-roll from Columbus. I live 45 minutes away in Bloomington and drive through Columbus all the time. Great channel you have here. I work as a bus driver for IU we use Cummins ISL, but it fun to learn about the larger displacement options out there!

    I'm getting an X15 565 in a couple weeks mated to an Eaton Fuller Ultrashift Plus 13 speed in a 2018 International LT. Current truck is a 17 KW T680, ISX15 550 with the same trans. Looking forward to seeing if there's any real difference.

    This, engine, with a 18speed Ultrashift Plus, double reduction axles, would be pretty neat for heavy loads +60 metric tons
    Oh, and puting the twin scroll turbocharger HX80 from the QSK19

    I have an X 15 it has had three EGR coolers in less than 200,000 miles.

    Is this X15 as good as a C15 cat . They should hire former Cat engineers to design a truck engine . They should also produce a on road version of the K19 for trucks, but that’s just my wishful thinking, it would cool though .

    Thumbs down for the check engine light @ 2:43. And no I'm not talking about the jake brake light. The check engine light is below that and to the left, partially obscured by the guage shroud. Drop everything else and dump all you've got into designing a reliable aftertreatment system.

    Have they figured out how to keep all the soot and carbon out of inside. If not it'll be just like the ISX gumming up all the sensors. It will nickel and dime you broke. EGR and DPF is a engine killer.

      @@austinfouts9139 WRONG! It hasn't been proven one single time, ever. We're over a decade having emissions, and there simply isn't an uptick in engine failures comparing pre-emissions to post-emissions. Hasn't been proven at all. Engines don't magically fail because they have EGR and aftertreatment, it's a total, complete myth regurgitated by moronic "know-it-alls" on the internet.

      @@moparproud3978 first hand experience with EGR issues. Several fault codes related to emissions. Three EGR Coolers replaced. Less than 200,000 on a Cummins X15.

    I'd like to test one up to Floyd,va from woolwine, vs on hwy8 or old 52 north to fancy gap an weight isn't a issue

      Up lovers leap 77600 lbs first long pull bout 12 gear 48 to 52 mph at 1300 could hit 55 maybe but I just let er eat at 1300 rpm

      I was thinking the same, i wouldn't give a new truck and engine to a rookie driver just to see abusing power and thinking is unbreakable.
      If you give to them over 350 hp in a truck, they will automatically think they are nico rosberg in the monaco Grand Prix and the company will support them because they give them a new truck

      They were built with fuel economy in mind. Mines set at 565 and I run on average 5.85 mpg. I'm also a flat bedder so fuel mileage is usually out the window.

      Hey I driven the 2016 isx15 specd for fuel economy with auto. Driving 1200 rpm at 65 is horrible even if manuel mode is disabled by a company I work at.

    You lost me at egr cooler so that means it's the same emissions trash like all other engines out here DD15 is so unreliable freightliner should pull it off the market but why would they when their service department is making 400% more then sales . If it ain't a glider o/o should stay away or you will be sleeping in dealer waiting rooms even if truck is under warranty you aint making no money .Catapillar knew that the technology to make a reliable emissions engine ain't available so they pulled from the market cause they know a egr c15 will be so unreliable it would make their brand look like trash aka DD15 aka ISX15. Owning one of these with more that 250k on them is like running through a cord field with no underwear or trying to turn a prostitute into a housewife, you gonna be left shafted with no lube and no money .

    I really hope this engine's better than the X12. That's in our Fleet trucks in Colorado. This thing's an absolute pile of shit turd and you feel like you're gonna die going downhills.
