ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Nice to see Al Boogie back on the show again! I remember he was really good and fun last season but I also needed more than that. Here he comes in with a better song choice. I'm still not a fan of the song but man Al Boogie killed that! I couldn't help but dance to this and I was cheering for Reba to turn for him. Reba is the best coach for him so I can't see Al Boogie picking the other coaches so maybe only Reba turning was probably the best thing. I'd love to hear him do some Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, Conway Twitty, and some Merle Haggard songs.

What's with the sound quality on theses videos? As soon as the talking starts the sound gets distinctly muted and then production plays music over it all. Very frustrating.

Niall John and Gwen were right on though. When he speaks he has so much range. He really needs to bring that and the passion into his singing too. It sounded like he didn't understand why he was saying the lyrics he was saying when he was singing. He's really gotta understand the text and why he's saying each word to take us on a journey with him

It’s like they are purposely not picking the best country singers to be on this show anymore. This guy was good, he just sounds like most singers at the bar…nothing separates him or any of the others.

Congrats Al Boogie and good luck to you and Reba. I am not at all someone who understands music or even the American country culture but as a general viewer somehow the genre of country music seems like a hard core niche with typical music, voices, twangy sounds, growl and doesn't seem to be much creative or heart touching. It's all just silly fun and funky and kinda one-time trick but overtime I get bored watching similar performances and is kinda a turn off. And I understand people who like this genre and are fans, it's just my opinion.
You just Need to broaden your exposure, but your superficial assessment is condescending. I’m not American nor do I like country but it’s like saying Indian music is Bollywood cinema music, lacks depth and range. It’s just wrong. Try listening to faith hill, Brett young, Garth brooks, there are deeply (emotionally) sophisticated men and women who have made music in us country music for decades.

@Jaira : Yes, Country music can be "silly fun" ("Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off"), but the thing that is probably the most loved element, of Country music, is the story telling....

The performance was a bit to gravely when I feel like it didn't needed to be. Seems like everyone is trying to go the Chris Stapleton route on performances. I could just be biased because Diffie is one of my absolute favorites.

This guy is pure country. I wish him luck. He's got a good coach. But would somebody tell gwen that you can't LEARN COUNTRY. You either ARE or you're NOT. It's either in your soul or it's not. If it's not, you're not going far in country music. And gwen is NOT country no matter how hard she tries to be.
