The girl who performed 1994 is just wow She transmitted everything that is written in the song❤️🔥 I didn't stop crying throughout her performance 🥹🥺😭♥️
Song number two, 1944...I had not read the title until the video was over. I did not need to understand her language to know exactly what she was singing. She made me feel it, sure some of it in English but she let go in her language. She was incredible....Well done Elina Ivaschenko
The 2nd girl was amazing!! I loved the way she performs and her voice and style! Everything about her is awesome! She needa come to the U.S and make a name for herself! I’d go to see her live 🙌🏽❤️
The 2nd girl surely is gifted and trained. However, 6:10 is magical. That break to vibrato... was sick. That was once in a lifetime. She broke down because she knows she left it all out there.
Dalibor Soldo Can you share some of her story? I found & watched her journey on theVOICE...but I am still so interested in knowing more! ♡x1000 for her AND for some reason it feels like there is more to her story than what we see?! Thx~😊
I didn't know it, I couldn't even understand it... But it got me in tears, she was so powerful and amazing. Niw I know what it was about, and my tears doubled 😢
RoxAnn she was singing about lost generations that were forced to migrate under Stalin reigns, emotions she shared were even stronger knowing that she is also lost generation as she is orphan and she dedicated her road on the voice to her mother. I guess there are some forces on this world that can move mountains without touching them and Elina is living proof of that.
@@solangeedegbe4150 She had one spot left and I saw someone say it was her first season and the producers warned her that she was filling her team too fast.
Wow! I'm a big fan of Eurovision and was suprised to see the song 1944 by Jamala here! But I was even more to suprised to see all the positive comments about it in the comments! Don't get me wrong, I thought it was FANTASTIC. But a lot of people were negative when Jamala won eurovision with this song in 2016, either because it was «too political» or that they preferred regular pop-songs. So there has kinda been a bad armosphere around the song, which is such a shame :( But anyway, that girl was MINDBLOWING
@@nancygalloway9720 The deportation of the Crimean Tatars, in the 1940s, by the Soviet Union at the hands of Joseph Stalin because of their alleged collaboration with the Nazis. Jamala's great grandmother was deported with her 5 children which inspired her to sing the song. Her great-grandfather was fighting with the Red Army in WWII and couldn't protect them from being deported. One of the five children didn't survive the trip to Central Asia where they were sent.
3:49 the vocal range on her is absolutely phenomenal. She hits all high and low notes with such control. What an awesome voice I'm glad I just found this ! 😍
The fact that the two men turned in the last couple seconds… Kelly couldn’t bring herself to turn, but she was clearly beating herself up over it, even with Alicia supporting her choice, but Adam and Blake turned to spare Kelly the heartache.
Jamala wrote the song about her grandparents who were Crimean Tatars, Stalin purged them from their homelands in that time, hence the name “1944”. It’s really still relevant today
jessica jalynn Karen Carpenter said, "Don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing a song." lalalalala🎶lalalalalala🎶lalalalalalala🎶
The second artist Elina Ivaschenko beautifully covered the powerful song “1944” by Jamala. The lyrics for this song concern the deportation of the Crimean Tatars at the hands of Joseph Stalin because of their alleged collaboration with the Nazi’s. The writer (Jamala) was inspired by the story of her great grandmother (Nazylkhan) who was in her mid-20’s when she and her five children were deported to a barren Central Asia. One of the daughters did not survive the journey... Courtesy of TH-cam Template.
The second song is called 1944, it's there to remember all the people the were killed when the Russians invaded the Ukraine. And committed many atrocities on the Ukrainian people.
Deserved eurovision winner (against what many say)! Love the song! Stars Shine Bright ignore him, he's just a Russian embarrassed because of what his country and doesn't want to admit they were stupid!
Stars Shine Bright. No it's not. Ukraine (as well as Russia) were part of the USSR. Nazi Europe attacked and captured a lot of land, including the territory of modern Ukraine. A lot of atrocities were committed. Quite often helped by local nazi collaborators like Crimean Tatars and people from Western Ukraine. In 1944 USSR was capturing old Ukraine territories back. The road was on Berlin and with that goal in mind (in order to secure rear areas as well as in a spirit of retribution), the Soviet leader Stalin (who was from Georgia) decided to move those "untrustworthy elements" farther away. A lot of them were guilty of the things accused, many of them were totally innocent. It was a tragedy. But it's not black and white thing - if you think it is, then you are a simpleton and don't know anything. One could debate interpretations of different facts. But one can't have his own set of facts. And the whole "Russians invaded Ukraine" is a straight lie.

Elina Ivaschenko was pure talent. Her voice was so unique! Shana Halligan has a distinct beautiful voice. They're all very talented but theres something about these two.
Piece by piece will always get me. As someone who’s father only recently came into my life, this is a song that would really hit me in my teenage years. I now have an amazing partner who I know will be an amazing father
The 'Don't Stop Believing" guy is such a great singer, to make a song like that his own and perform it as if he wrote it. I loved it so much, just had me smiling the entire time. Cancer is such a terrible curse that falls upon people.
1944 by Eniha Ibawehko just WOW. Her passion, voice was simply breathtaking. The song itself has significant meaning behind it too. It's full of passion, pain and drive. Amazing.
polybear 527 the reason she gets emotional is JUST because of the meaning behind the lyrics. I‘m usually not one to disagree with little things but as someone who can kinda relate to the song it’s important to know the only real reason why is so sad and moving.
She won American Idol 16 years ago..... and Piece by Piece is a relatively new song. She performed it on the finale night of what was supposed to be American Idol's 15th and last season (2017) and she broke down at the end and cried. It is about her father never being there for her, how her and her husband will never be that way with their children.
2:02 1944 what Elina Ivashchenko sang is not an easy song, and I am sure that Tina Karol and Elina worked for a very long time to perfect it. Tina is a wonderful coach! And I have never felt this harmony between coach and her padawan so deeply. ❤❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Damn, I initially skipped over act two but damn damn damn I was so wrong after reading these comments. That was a very moving performance. Such feeling and strength in her. Chills. Igatious was phenomenal also.
2Clarence47 right. When she started I was like ohh this is mediocre. I stopped when she did the bridge and went back to the beginning because it was so incredible
The one who sang "Shape of you" did an amazing job even before the last belting note, which was unnecessary and added nothing to the song, but hadn't she done that, Kelly Clarkson wouldn't have turned her chair. I hate it when coaches do that. Range and high notes are not everything. It's what you can do, the tone of your voice, what you express and transmit with what you have what really matters, not your high beltings. By that logic, legends like Barry White or Sade would have never stood a chance in the business. Just saying.
That's why these talent shows ultimately are not a force for good. They attract fame-hungry individuals, not true musicians, and those who do histrionic, in-yer-face, belting, shouting, high screaming, type singing - well, they are the ones who end up getting the attention. But as you clearly know @Enrique Contreras, and so do I, the purpose of a song is not to impress the listener with dazzling technique, but to transmit an emotion. Sometimes a very subtle voice, or even a quite damaged voice, is far more successful at doing that. Compare Marianne Faithful's voice in the 1960s ("As Tears Go By"), where it is quite pretty and high and clear, to her post-junkie raspy voice of the 1980s ("Broken English"). Her later singing is far better than her youthful stuff, even though technically and physiologically her actual voice was better in the 60s. Singing is about more than the voice. You don't have to have a great voice to be a great singer and a lot of people with great voices, are not good singers at all. When people tell me that my voice is great, I kind of think "meh, so what", but when they say they think I am a great singer, that's when I feel complimented. But these shows don't get that. I mean, the show is called "The Voice" so I rest my case.

That breath at the end when she comes back from where ever she went to to give that performance
And that little smile - She know she nailed it
It was like she was in a trance at the end simply beautiful
@@PutnmaKEThat was my exact thought. Just the little shiver to come back...good Lord...speaks volumes
Elina the 2nd girl BLEW ME AWAYYYY!!! GOOSEBUMPS THE WHOLE TIME! OMGGGGG she ruined the rest of the video for me lollll people talking about other songs like they didnt just hear a miracle happen
mtgsk couldnt agree more, im mexican didnt understood a word she said but just woww, goosebumps All song
look up her other performances she's amazing and apparently a very nice , well liked young lady.
She reminded me of Alanis Morissette and the cranberries. Very unique sounding.
Sounded just like demi when she belts
I feel u dear.... felt them too
The girl who performed 1994 is just wow She transmitted everything that is written in the song❤️🔥 I didn't stop crying throughout her performance 🥹🥺😭♥️
holy shit, that 2nd girl with the shoulder-length hair had me jaw dropped. Esp when she belted it. Haunting and powerful.
and I didn't even understand what she was singing.
That second song, struck hard to me, it was haunting and powerful! Wow!
Patti Cook what's the name of the song she did ???
she is elena ivashenko the name of the song s 1944
Patti Cook It was haunting, all right. Very creepy.
I kno RV Osbournew
I've never heard anything like that. Her performance and the song were all in one.
Song number two, 1944...I had not read the title until the video was over. I did not need to understand her language to know exactly what she was singing. She made me feel it, sure some of it in English but she let go in her language. She was incredible....Well done Elina Ivaschenko
Finally someone didn't call her 'second girl'!! 😁
The 2nd girl was amazing!! I loved the way she performs and her voice and style! Everything about her is awesome! She needa come to the U.S and make a name for herself! I’d go to see her live 🙌🏽❤️
The guy that did “Latch” sounded exactly like Sam Smith in some parts, it’s eerie. He truly did amazing.

But not good as arnel
I love that song.Its a classic
Thank you for loving it Karen
The girl singing 1944 is one of the best performances I’ve seen on the show
The 2nd girl surely is gifted and trained. However, 6:10 is magical. That break to vibrato... was sick. That was once in a lifetime. She broke down because she knows she left it all out there.
guy singing don’t stop believing sang with so much passion that he made me feel something
And then you believed?
Elina Ivaschenko did something special, I know the story behind this song and that mind blowing performance made me cry. She is perfect in every way.
Question, since you seem to know what’s going on and no one else does. Was the blonde judge the one who wrote the song or what she JUST that moved?
@@MightyMako she wrote the song and her name is tina karol! Or she cowrote it with Jamala i honestly forgot lol

@Edmundo Blanco Okay, that's fair. Didn't remember that.
@Edmundo Blanco I don’t think so. Alicia kept telling her to do it so....

Wolfy x agreed
So there has kinda been a bad armosphere around the song, which is such a shame :(
But anyway, that girl was MINDBLOWING
Kristian--What is the song about? Do you know the lyrics? Thanks for any info. :)

Never in a million years i could've thought of "shape of you" that way she sang it
3:49 the vocal range on her is absolutely phenomenal. She hits all high and low notes with such control.
What an awesome voice I'm glad I just found this ! 😍
At 13! Amazing!
Ehh
The fact that the two men turned in the last couple seconds… Kelly couldn’t bring herself to turn, but she was clearly beating herself up over it, even with Alicia supporting her choice, but Adam and Blake turned to spare Kelly the heartache.

Jamala wrote the song about her grandparents who were Crimean Tatars, Stalin purged them from their homelands in that time, hence the name “1944”. It’s really still relevant today

She was fucking unbelievabley good, it gave me chills and the song has so much emotion and history behind it. It was perfect.
The second girl was amazing, I've never gotten goosebumps from listening to people but her control resonated in my soul

Wow! I absolutely loved the Bang Bang one. Her voice was so unique and amazing.
The second song is called 1944, it's there to remember all the people the were killed when the Russians invaded the Ukraine. And committed many atrocities on the Ukrainian people.
Neil Perry how stupid are you lol
Nikolay Borodin how is he stupid? It's right
Eurovision winner
1944 always gets me, not only the words but when a singer puts everything they have behide it. oof
Whoever sung that bang bang actually was really good! In my opinion, her theatrics of the song made it personable 🥰

Lyrics to the second song: (A heartfelt tribute)
When strangers are coming...
They come to your house,
They kill you all
and say,
We’re not guilty
not guilty.
Where is your mind?
Humanity cries.
You think you are gods.
But everyone dies.
Don't swallow my soul.
Our souls
I did not enjoy my youth
I was not able to live in this place
I did not enjoy my youth
I was not able to live in this place
We could build a future
Where people are free
to live and love.
The happiest time.
Where is your heart?
Humanity rise.
You think you are gods
But everyone dies.
Don't swallow my soul.
Our souls
I did not enjoy my youth
I was not able to live in this place
I did not enjoy my youth
I was not able to live in this place
I did not enjoy my homeland

Msmissmaggie is correct it is about her dad as a bad father and her wonderful husband as a great father
Poly, maybe get your facts right before commenting? She has said multiple times it's about her dad.
polybear 527 the reason she gets emotional is JUST because of the meaning behind the lyrics.

Elina Ivaschenko was seriously magical. Beautiful.
@Luke Bryan Why hello. I am doing fine. How about you?
Kelly: Alicia has like this zen around her she's so chill
Alicia: PRESS THAT BUTTON! PRESS DAT BUTTON!!!
Why did Kelly hesitate though
Because that's her song and it has significant meaning
V "I'm not gonna have a chance" she said it herself. It's Alicia's
Everybody has done Bang bang. I think it was in Pulp Fiction. But it was done originally by some female country singer Dusty something in the 60s.
The song is Kelly Clarkson's. She wrote it herself.
Am I the only one who sees the arrows pointing at literally NOTHING-
Nope saw that too lol

What was up with that?
