Jody thank you for your video. After watching it a few time I could swap my keyboard and palm rest successfully. Of course it was like a 2.5 hour job for me because I'm just an enthusiast. Thanks again.
I have exactly this notebook. Is it possible to upgrade the battery? I think its capacity is very limited. Are there more powerful batteries compatible with this model?
My original keyboard 5567 had a back light. The replacement doesn't, and I think that's why I get a no booting device found ( though they seem unrelated), my HDD connection looks fine. Where did you get this new replacement with back light?
Thanks Jody.....great video - however----I removed the connection of the cmos battery instead of leaving it attached to the motherboard and can now not POST and thus cannot boot. Any solution for this?
@@JodyBruchon Thanks for the reply....not sure, but I think that is the only thing I did that you did not recommend (unplug cmos battery from motherboard). It does not show a boot menu, and restarts in a loop. I have since replaced the laptop with a new one - but was curious about this issue.
@Jody, Thanks for uploading/sharing this video. I have a Dell Inspiron 15-5558 and my touch screen function stopped working and my screen would sometimes the screen would go white with purple bars so I decided to replace the screen. I disassembled the laptop but was having a hard time figuring out how to remove the LCD cable from the motherboard, which you explained perfectly. Jord, thank you. Awesome video, man!

I'm happy to help. It is tougher when you haven't done hundreds of laptops, but 2.5 hours is really not that bad. You should be proud.

Not really. One of the unfortunate things about the molded batteries used in modern laptops is that there's no room for more battery inside.
@@JodyBruchon thank you

It sounds like you may have damaged more than just the battery connection. I don't know that I can be very helpful.
