  • Scenic Mountain Biking at Durham Forest after a rainfall. The trails were at their peak summer green and the dirt was well hydrated after a week of dry conditions.

    Would love to see a trailforks trail link or map of the trail in the video at the start of each section of trail you rode. Would help a lot for those of us who might not be locals but would love to ride the same trails you did. Thanks for posting these videos, it's great to see trails closer to me that i might actually be able to ride and not another A line video!

    Hit up the entire Uxbridge area in early spring. Had a great time. Definitely have to try the Durham Forest trails in late fall and for winter riding.
    Keep up the good work.

      @@andrer3764 I use the chest mount. It gives the best perspective of the trail and the speed.

      You've got great trails in Pisgah Forest and Dupont State recreational area. It's a bit of a drive from Durham but worth it. Myself and a few of my friends drove down a few years ago and it was worth it.

      Check it out for sure! the trails are great. Here is the main parking lot: www.trailforks.com/poi/48975/ from there you can follow the trail signs which are well marked. Things are a bit different this year as they have made most of the trails one-directional for social distancing. I find this makes it easy to navigate which is nice if you don't know your way around.

    • @AdventureTrailsTO
      @AdventureTrailsTO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! i've been quite a few times and actually have a back log of POV footage from there which I will upload soon. The trails are fun but overall pretty flat - I would say it's mostly beginner/Intermediate difficulty trails. The dirt is nice in the wet so we will usually go there early spring season.

  • @syedzgaming
    @syedzgaming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are there beginner trails for folks getting into mtb?

    • @AdventureTrailsTO
      @AdventureTrailsTO  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Durham is one of the best places to learn as the trails are well marked by difficulty. Many fun green trail options and open double track.

      @@AdventureTrailsTO need some advice on mtb choice. :) I have a Canyon Grail gravel bike that I use for road and riding gravel, I wasnt sure it would be upto task for doing mtb trails so I bought an XC bike from Decathalon: XC 100 hardtail with shimano deore drivetrain and 100mm manitou markhor air fork for 1300. It comes in at 12.8kg.
      Now I am having second thoughts, they also have a full suspension bike for 800 but with a spring shock in the back (upgradeable to an air one for 130 from aliexpress), advent drive train and a low grade suntour 120mm spring fork. The bike is also heavier by 3kg but has a trail geometry.
      I dont have enough to spend on a quality FS bike so I was wondering which of these bikes should I go with. I havent done MTB but I did enjoy some single track sections up in Uxbridge just before the rail trail starts, so I wanna get into the sport.
      Should I return the xc bike and get the cheaper FS bike (and upgrade later to a quality one) to learn the trade or just keep the xc bike as it should be good for durham forest..is it?

    • @AdventureTrailsTO
      @AdventureTrailsTO  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@syedzgaming that’s a good question! Typically with all else being equal, a hard tail will come stock with better parts than a FS bike at the same price point. Since you are looking to ride mostly Durham trails, I think the hard tail would be well suited for those trails and you’ll benefit from the lighter bike with upgraded components. Stick to the hard tail for now I think you made the right choice.

    • @syedzgaming
      @syedzgaming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AdventureTrailsTO Hey man, thanks for taking the time to give a detailed yet clear answer. I am gonna stick to the hardtail :) if you see a clueless guy with a blue 🚲 rockrider with a white fork in durham trails, just wave.
