    This area is so much more than initially meets the eye. There are trail systems that stretch out to the west that go into two whole different forested areas. Bond Lake & McCloud's landing. Trailforks can guide you.
    Stress less, ride more. Stay safe.

    Where is the first of ride if the day where you did the jump at ?

  • @powerfister69
    @powerfister69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Went there for the first time today, it’s awesome. If you go back - from free ride section, follow the main trail going east from there, there’s a big hill on the left. If you get to the top of that hill (I think the Trailforks mapped trail that gets you there is called endurathon), look for a chute on the south side of the hill. One goes to big fun step up, and the biggest jump I’ve seen in the wild in Ontario. Very friendly landing area though so you don’t have to make it to the true sweet spot - over a 40 foot gap. Took it at 80-90% speed of what you would need and it was super fun. For me, the in run started to feel too sketchy to take faster than that - being on a hard tail didn’t help. You may be able to clear it.

    How much are your bike? What is the usual price for a beginner's bicycle who just started mountain biking? Would u recommend me one?
    I dontwant to buy too cheap one that would danger me to ride this type of trail

    • @GoodTrails
      @GoodTrails  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bike is kinda old, its from 2016. I bought it used for 1600. For a begginer you could start on a hardtail from trek, specialized, giant or Norco. You can get something decent for around the 1500 dollar mark (brand new). That way you can see if you like the sport. If you get into it, I would sell your hardtail and buy a full suspension. Don't forget to put some money aside for a good helmet and probably some knee pads. Troy Lee, Fox, IXS and Smith make good protective gear.

      its the type of place u want to tell ur friends about because its sick however u don't want to spoil its hidden-ness. this year some people came around and started messing with the features in the free ride section, removing rocks and totally ruining the drop, so I rebuilt some this fall hopefully its still standing

      Great to hear! There's a ton of stuff to ride around the GTA! I would reccomend the Don Valley MTB page as well as Mountain Bikers Ontario. At the moment, facebook groups havr devolved a major shit show with this pandemic going on but these groups should bounce back eventually.

Once I fully explore and master the Don Valley I'ma go to Milton, Horseshoe, and what else would you recommend? I'm looking for long trails, I really like the ridge!

    • @powerfister69
      @powerfister69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not op but the hydrocut trails in Waterloo has some really well built flowy xc trails. Good place for a day trip because the trails are sanctioned so the signage is excellent, the trails are one directional and features well marked so they’re pretty safe to ride blind at a good pace

    • @petarbg123
      @petarbg123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@powerfister69 what are xc trails?

    • @powerfister69
      @powerfister69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      petarbg123 cross country. Didn’t mean it’s meant for xc racers though just meant they go up and down as opposed to like downhill free ride trails where you take a fire road to the top. Similar idea to the don valley trails

    • @petarbg123
      @petarbg123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@powerfister69 Is the ridge considered an xc trail? Because that's by far my favorite of all in the Don, the flow on it is just perfect!!

    • @powerfister69
      @powerfister69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      petarbg123 I’ve only been to the don 4 times tbh haven’t ridden the ridge yet I’ll have to check it out next time. It just depends on what you consider xc I guess, I personally call the don trails xc just because they involve so much on trail climbing, but trails like climbmax or rollerflowster have a downhill trail feel on the descents and you probably would be skipping most of the features if you’re on an actual xc bike. I’m guessing you might like the hydrocut then because you barely need to use your brakes there where as some of the don trails like catalyst you have to be pretty careful in the corners if you don’t like falling down 60 degree slopes. I do kind of enjoy the scariness of the exposure at the don though
