Mr Downey is talking about surrendering control. A very prominent idea in taoism. Something western cultures need to get with. It's not about "getting what you want" as the interviewer puts it. It's about acceptance of and presence in the moment.
Can you do all of the interviews moving forward? One of the few interviewers that actually let the actors talk, listens to what they say and provides thoughtful follow up questions
Lacey Rose, of The Hollywood Reporter, is also brilliant at this. The roundtables she supervises are always the best on that channel, as she knows exactly how to steer a dialogue with intriguing queries and doesn't impatiently butt in. She gets the best out of even reticent participants.
Right..i love love this channel..because the guy doing the interviews is so sincere and ask honest good questions and has a good relationship with the people he interviewed and you feel like you really get to see the actual people behind the celebrity...i have no clue why this channel doesn't have more subscribers or views
This is a wonderful channel and I have no idea how this came up on my recommendations but I am ecstatic that it did. These interviews are so well researched and executed wonderfully.
Great leadership is the ability to control yourself, instead of controlling everything around you. If you know exactly who you are and what you want, the right things will fall into place for you.
I agree with him but the thing is, a dude like Guy Ritchie already has like the best people for a task doing their jobs. But how do you control yourself from micromanaging people as a leader when the people are, frankly, bad at their jobs? -Sincerely, The girl who does everything in a school group project 😂
Vanshita Gupta I hear you. It’s even worse if your group mates are your friends - it’ll ruin the friendship. I hope you’ll have good and cooperative group mates in future (if you’re still schooling).
Vanshita Gupta put the responsibility back on them - empower them to make better decisions and it’ll lead to better outcomes. Start small, give them a chance to independently complete something “key” that the others are relying on. They’ll be praised for their contribution and keep it moving from there. If they feel like you’re going to handle and take care of everything, they don’t need to try :) Sincerely, A girl who learned group projects aren’t just for school, they’re for life
Man I wish RDJ could go for president and not 70's. My reasons and thoughts here is that he's more of an independent vibe from the online cheat sheet. Even though he might not have phd schooling he experienced so much education movies within scripts and also entering the entrepreneur realm as well. As crazy as it sounds, it wouldn't hurt to have a good entrepreneur as a president not bad. Idk I could be right or wrong but yeah. Life would be nice if all sides could be just independent but sadly somebody had to invent political words within war sides yrs ago
If this was jimmy fallon at 00:13 Jimmy would of busted out laughing.
And ruffled his hair?
and slapped his desk
Really? A great, insightful interview, and you felt that this comment is necessary? How often do you have to think about Jimmy Fallon to do that?
no, he would have nervously fake laughed.
Weird how theres so few views this is a really good channel, with interesting ideas let alone the stars that come
It's a pretty new channel and people would rather watch a cringe script with bad acting and screaming crowds.
agree
@@Hephaestion96 But then again, it could have all been in one same video, instead of 3min clips...
@@MrTbob418 That's not how you make money on TH-cam.
RDJ has been a huge figure for most of us all these years especially as ironman, and to see him in this interview reminds me that he is a human being.
YES
reminds you? you thought he was a cyborg alien? xD
Yes. He is incredible in a legendary sort of way.
This interview is the first thing I've seen RDJ in. I dont even know who his dad is.

I love your show! Getting to hear "celebrities" be people and talk about their craft is so inspiring!

Wonderful! Thus, I will continue training myself in being a great leader! :]
I would be afraid of asking a dumb question. This man's talent is unchained. It must be like chatting with Brando or Olivier.
this is so true!
That drip on RDJ is swagnificent.
I feel like what Robert describes there is what you can do on a studio film, when you don't have limited resources.
Talking about great Directors it would have been interesting to hear RDJ thoughts on Richard Attenborough, Robert Altman or even John Hughes.
What was the book name, Mr. Downey has said at first in the video, can anyone help!!!

Delegating.. Robert Downey Jr so smart from all his introspective cocaine use in the 80s and 90s, just like Sigmund Freud
It's pronounced DOW, not T'OW.
"just to show that he can do something if he wants." Pfft

This is exactly what Trump is doing in 2020 to save our nation. God bless him.
I would give that comment a million thumbs down if I could. He is poison.
