That's gotta one of the best pickups videos I've seen on TH-cam in quite a while MJR! So many amazing games. After just recently picking up Panzer Dragoon Saga, it's sparked my interest to collect for the Saturn - and I've heard nothing but great things about Shining Force. Glad to see you were able to get your hands on it. Thanks so much for sharing! Really enjoyed that man.
Honestly, I could make these videos TWICE as long…cuz I always cut out stuff… but I'm glad people don't mind the length. So many great games to talk about! :)
I know this is old but I worked with the guy in your thumbnail a couple of years ago :) I just thought it was really cool. I’m not really a collector but I appreciate older games and love getting ones I never knew about or I played when I was little. I love your channel :)
I absolutely loved Beyond:Two Souls. The story was full of atmosphere and suspense. I fondly remember the Navajo level where you meet those people at their house, and they tell you not to go out after dark. I had a lot of fun playing through that game and unlocking the Platinum Trophy. In an industry that is completely saturated in annually released crap like COD, artful projects like like Beyond are a breath of fresh air. I have a lot of respect for David Cage and everyone over at Quantic Dream.
Whoever developed the strategy for overcoming the limitations of the first disc video games should be praised for such a simple answer: "Okay...we want to do a sprawling video game launch for our new console and we've chosen the CD-ROM as our format, but it's proving difficult to fit everything we want to do onto the format. Does anyone have any ideas on a possible solution?" "Um...uh...how about two discs?" "Perfect! Okay everyone, let's make this happen!" (The meeting ends as the executive informs his bosses of the great idea)
Love your videos, really appreciate the clips of the games too. Not a lot of you tubers add gameplay while talking about the game. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate the effort it must take.
Definitely play more of Beyond, Metal Jesus. I admit it's the very definition of a "love it or hate it" kind of game, with no middle ground whatsoever, but the non-linear narrative is actually one of the best aspects of it: by depriving you of context it forces you to wonder and try to piece things together. Of course it all depends on whether you get invested in the protagonists and if that doesn't happen, well... as I said, "love it or hate it"
MetalJesusRocks There is another Persona 2 game that did come out on the PSP called Persona 2: Innocent Sin. The Persona 2: Eternal Punishment did come out on the Playstation Network and I believe it is only $5!
I can't believe it! I just bought a couple of weeks ago the Ni No Kuni for my PS3 through PSN and man.....WHAT AN AWESOME GAME!! I have like 25 hours and can't stop playing. Good to see that you're playing it too.
Congrats on picking up shining force III MJR.Shining Force III does have a scenario 2&3 which never had a u.s release, but both have a fan translation.Ys The Oath in Felghana is great a very good remake of Ys III.
I'm actually in the middle of getting through oath of felghana right now. I've been enjoying the game quite immensely. I find the controls and combat are incredibly tight and I love the fact that a lot of the bosses can be difficult. Its nice to see you get a few anime titles knocked off your list as well. Hexyz force is definitely one you should be grateful to get knocked off your list since it is getting harder and harder to find.
Enjoying your channel, some great games and interesting videos.I have been gaming over 30 years so I recognise most of the titles, and now you have rekindled my interest to dig a load of oldies out!
Do not bother Beyond Two Souls. It was the creator wanting to create a game around Ellen Paige cause he has some fetish about her . Because he's so in love with her there is no peril that Heavy Rain had, no danger . I personally think the danger that someone could die because of you is what made Heavy Rain so interesting.
Cadillac Gamer Yea he is in love . The whole game was just so he could get her in a shower scene. And then he had her pee in snow which is probably another sick fetish of his .
Mmh, actually beyond two souls starts very slow, I agree with you. But it gets really good towards the end, you should finish it to see what's your outcome in the game finale based in your decisions. I truly recommend to play the game with a good surround system and also, try to calibrate your hdtv settings FIR optimum resolution, I did it, and I've been enjoying my game collection even more, ever since.
that street fighter 2 dos version is very enjoyable. i believe some of the stage sound effects might be missing, my memory is a bit vague on that point. i recommend using a joystick with it, so executing special moves is much easier, otherwise, expect to play as blanka and e honda to win, using their button mash specials. on a 386 i believe it played a little slow, and i don't know if it has a speed up problem on fast cpu's. i wish i had it complete, all i have left are the floppy's from mine.
Great collection. MJ, have you ever finished any of those game you collect or just play for a certain amount of time before you get bored of them? I have problem finishing any games I bought because I'm not focus on 1 game. I'm sure some gamers have a hard time finishing 1 game and then turn toward something else. Sometime I'm just burnt out of collecting games vs playing them to finish due to too many backlogged of games.
Metal Jesus, absolutely finish Beyond Two Souls. The jarring shifts in timeline is off putting (for me as well) but it's a minor complaint in light of its strengths.
Great video as always MetalJesus. I really wanna thank you for giving a heads up on Million Dollar Reload. My curiosity got the best of me, I checked them out and to my surprise I REALLY like them. I'm 21 and I love me some GNR and ACDC and they definately lean more towards the style of ACDC than anyone else I know of. These guys are awesome.
Funny you should ask about the PSP having Persona2. I just picked up the special edition (came with a soundtrack disc)at a Gamestop, of all places. I kind of shocked to see it still sitting at the store. It's called Innocent Sin though. According to the box, it has sleek enhancements and expanded content. "Persona 2 makes its long-awaited debut in North America!"
auto modellista, damn look really good. the black outline and the cartoony style. really cool to look at and some of my fav car nsx,350z,R33.. so glad that iv watch this video !
You probably know about this game already---Semi-Ghost in the Shell related--came out WAY before the show and PS2 game--- PC Game "ONI"--Loved it AND there's an online group STILL adding and expanding on the original with different playable characters, etc...( I bought it on a whim at BIG LOTS 10 years ago for 3 bucks....Big Box and all , LOL ) Check it out if you're not already familiar with it... The PS2 version of ONI, while quite good, I'd become So used to the PC keyboard control's---it just wasn't the same for me.
I'm starting my gaming collection, picked up a snes, sega megadrive and megacd and a master system all in original boxes, also got a copy of pier solar (pretty rare in my country)
one is good for ps1 - reminds me of apocalypse another ps1 game which i think you featured once..it's sort of a 3d take on the run and gun contra style for the 32 bit gen so it always seemed familiar to me..some of the jumping between platforms is a proper ball ache at times though..great vid - they always make me giddy for some retro!
Sweet you got Rogue Galaxy! , one of the Most Underrated Games of all time that i would have to say is one of the greatest game ever made , crazy they was able to pull that much our of the PS2 , You should do a review of it :)
Have you tried going to Half Priced Books in Tacoma? They have a lot of older PC games still in the box I didn't even know were around anymore. You should check it out.
I am very proud to say that I own Shining Force III, but for whatever reason I wasn't a huge fan of the game itself :/ ..I've never been as good with the strategy RPGs, and Shining Force III just didn't seem to have enough action for me...nice video!
Persona 2 EP was released on psp, just not outside of japan. persona 2 innocent sin was released on psp in the US, and ironically the ps1 version never came out in the US.
Ah man, I was just at a store the other day and saw One for the PS1 and had no idea what it was. I'll have to pick that up if they still have it. Also, if you like the idea of a video game in a post-apocalyptic setting full of plant life, you should check out Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, if you haven't already. It's great for a lot of other reasons too; great story, a really fun beat 'em up, and the main character was voiced/motion-captured by Andy Serkis. I think you'd dig it.
Need for Speed Porsche is awesome, I'm a big Porsche fan and you are right, it is a loveletter to all Porsche fans. Great game, I gotta hunt down the bigbox, it looks awesome. I actually have all 3 NFS Porsche games, the PC, the PS1 and GBA versions. That band sounds interesting, my favourite band is Guns N' Roses and I really like Faster Pussycat as well so similar bands are always welcome! Gonna check them out for sure.
also, i've been wanting to recommend a pc game to you. it is called bad mojo. it features a cockroach as the main character. i highly recommend it, if it is not already in your collection.
I spent many an hour playing Metroid Prime Pinball. Did you get the rumble pak with yours? Not many games supported it. Magnetica is another one I can think of.
Soooooo many good things you picked up man! A few things are pretty hard to find in box, and I mean a good condition box. Such as the Street Fighter and Thief. I actually had Mortal Kombat on the PC when it came out and visually, it was great...but it felt a bit sluggish and using the keyboard for a fighter...yeah, not the best idea. I'm seriously jealous though! You had a couple of things I've been looking for that are complete in a good condition box for a while now.
NFS Porsche Unleashed was the first racing game I played on PC.
Played that game for so many hours and loved it.
Things i like to know:
1) Whether Metal Jesus is back or not
2) How many games he's picked up
3) How many systems those games span
My heart warms up every time you share a DOS game. BTW - lengthy videos FTW!
Great stuff MJR!!! Epic scores and nice to see another video from you!
I absolutely loved Beyond:Two Souls. The story was full of atmosphere and suspense. Have you ever tried the south park stick of truth game? When I played it, it felt like i was watching the tv show the whole time.
I love all the work you put into your pickup videos, these are fantastic.
(The meeting ends as the executive informs his bosses of the great idea)
Reggie is a wise man. Beyond two souls was a great game IMO.
I love being introduced to a lot of shooters (like Castle of Shikigami III) and RPGs through your channel. Another awesome video.
Love your videos, really appreciate the clips of the games too. Not a lot of you tubers add gameplay while talking about the game. Just wanted to let you know I appreciate the effort it must take.
i really like metal jesus' vids….he just seems like a really chill type of guy. thanks for sharing the new additions to your collection!
Definitely play more of Beyond, Metal Jesus. Thumbs up for Shining Force 3.....one of the items in my collection i am proudest of
Whoa crazy! Speed Buster on PC was also released on Dreamcast under a different title: Speed Devils. I had no idea.
I was totally just thinking that as I watched it. It's good to know I'm not crazy.
MetalJesusRocks There is another Persona 2 game that did come out on the PSP called Persona 2: Innocent Sin. The Persona 2: Eternal Punishment did come out on the Playstation Network and I believe it is only $5!

You remind me of Mr. Horse from Run and Stimpy.
Loved to see a Nocturne saga review, it was a really interesting series that started as Blari Witch games and then turned into Blood Rayne.
Love R-type for the master system. I also recently had that good Mario feeling when I finally picked up Mario for the DS. I really missed it.
Awesome that you picked up TLOU! Didn't really expect to see it on your channel. Glad you liked it.
I never understood the huge PC game boxes. Inside there's just a regular CD case. lol
comes from the times there were floppy disks and full size manuals :)
Alan Wake dragged me out of my gaming funk, along with Dark Souls. Good to hear you're finally checkin' it out and enjoying it. I absolutely LOVED it.
Love your channel, MJ!
You have helped me find many games that I would never have thought of getting.
Thank you for everything. Love you bro! :)
Enjoying your channel, some great games and interesting videos.I have been gaming over 30 years so I recognise most of the titles, and now you have rekindled my interest to dig a load of oldies out!
Awesome man! You make me want to go back and play all these old games. Good stuff :D
I remember playing Re-Volt as a youngster, it was so difficult, but I loved it.
Do not bother Beyond Two Souls. It was the creator wanting to create a game around Ellen Paige cause he has some fetish about her . Loved your pickups specially Alan Wake, I want to hunt for a copy myself :)
It's a pretty fantastic survival horror game. Snag yourself a copy!
Alan Wake is great! Its like a faster paced silent hill!
Hi, long time ago but did you get a copy?😌
Mmh, actually beyond two souls starts very slow, I agree with you. But it gets really good towards the end, you should finish it to see what's your outcome in the game finale based in your decisions. BTW that band you mentioned at the end posted one of their songs on TH-cam. Here's the link:
Million Dollar Reload - Broken
Why does Robot Rocket on Wheels look like Blasto?
One is a great PS1 game. Has some camera issues but is more than just a runner. The levels open up a lot later in the game.
I love your channel. You've discovered so many great titles and you make every game seem fun. :)
YOU ROCK. Game On from the Gameseekers
Sweet games, great footage n commentary! Need to pick up a few of those-
Awesome pickup, parasite eve is one of my favorite PS1 games around Halloween
that street fighter 2 dos version is very enjoyable. i believe some of the stage sound effects might be missing, my memory is a bit vague on that point. i recommend using a joystick with it, so executing special moves is much easier, otherwise, expect to play as blanka and e honda to win, using their button mash specials. on a 386 i believe it played a little slow, and i don't know if it has a speed up problem on fast cpu's. i wish i had it complete, all i have left are the floppy's from mine.

Some awesome games you got there! Glad to see you are a fellow Persona fan!
Metal Jesus, absolutely finish Beyond Two Souls. The jarring shifts in timeline is off putting (for me as well) but it's a minor complaint in light of its strengths.
Porsche Unleashed was maybe the best done NFS game they ever made.
Awesome T-shirt
Great video as always MetalJesus. I really wanna thank you for giving a heads up on Million Dollar Reload. My curiosity got the best of me, I checked them out and to my surprise I REALLY like them. Wow man! you got some great people hooking you up with rare games lol. Shining force 3 is not only a super rare game but a fantastic game. Keep it up!

Reggie know his GAMES METAL JESUS. So BEYOND TWO SOULS WILL SHOCK YOU.
Hey man, Cheers for always being cheerful! Its good
Thanks! Video games are fun…I'm not really sure why people get so wound up and angry with this stuff… That's just not me.
Rocket!! That was one of my first N64 games I believe, and I loved it.
When you said you liked ghost in the shell i subbed. You have great taste.
I'm starting my gaming collection, picked up a snes, sega megadrive and megacd and a master system all in original boxes, also got a copy of pier solar (pretty rare in my country)

Hi MetalJesus, your videos are fantastic, i really enjoy every second of them, great job, greetings from Argentina!
Hi Jason, Just wondering what do you think about Beyond2Souls now? I personally really loved that game. But i understand it's not for everyone!
@metaljesus do you ever look back at these and see how far you came?
I had the PS2 version of GhostRider and I did really like playing it.
Sweet you got Rogue Galaxy! , one of the Most Underrated Games of all time that i would have to say is one of the greatest game ever made , crazy they was able to pull that much our of the PS2 , You should do a review of it :)

I can't even imagine what that Livin in the City song from band sounds like. Except for the Sonic R song which it's probably not.
I freaking love Remember Me. For me it was definately the Underdog game of 2013
awesome evil dead shirt, Boom Stick is the only weapon people need.
You should do a PS3 hidden gems video series. BTW have you heard the band Maximum The Hormone? They are really good.
Maximum the Hormone?! That's a weird name. What are they like?
MetalJesusRocks A brilliant Japanese band.
He did
Jeremy Christiansen I know.
Great game previews, love the show!
My dad loved that f117a flying game.
Persona 2 EP was released on psp, just not outside of japan.
persona 2 innocent sin was released on psp in the US, and ironically the ps1 version never came out in the US.

Love the Metal Jesus. Great video, it makes me wanna get some of those PS1 games.

That band sounds interesting, my favourite band is Guns N' Roses and I really like Faster Pussycat as well so similar bands are always welcome!
Gonna check them out for sure.
Auto Modellista looks absolutely beautiful in 1080P with AA on an emulator.
The DS is one of my favourite handhelds I never had one until this year because I just love my psp .
I had lots of fun playing need for speed porches unleashed on my PC in the late ninties.
also, i've been wanting to recommend a pc game to you. it is called bad mojo. it features a cockroach as the main character. i highly recommend it, if it is not already in your collection.
Great stuff. Can't wait for garage and yard sales this year.
If I actually put all my games in a local yard sale and advertised it on Craigslist… It would be pretty crazy. And depressing.
Another great video metal Jesus great pick ups and revolt I think also came out on psone and definetly on PS2
great channel, finding alot of games that i have never heard of 4
awesome as always Metal J!
I, also, recently picked up a copy of WarioWare Touched. Game arrived with everything unlocked! Bonus!
I spent many an hour playing Metroid Prime Pinball. Did you get the rumble pak with yours? Not many games supported it. Magnetica is another one I can think of.
Awesome! Just played Metal Slug yesterday. Do you have it on your collection too? :)
You should get Acid Witch- Stoned on vinyl. It reeks of 80's, Halloween and horror flicks of the day :D
Awesome video man, as usual.
Rocket Robot is a total hidden gem.... I'm amazed it isn't really known as one.
NFS Porsche Unleashed for PC is still a awsome game :)
I still play it sometimes.Cool game.
I loved Nocturne..forgot all about that game...been so long since I played PC games.
I saw what you said about amazing looking rpg's in this video and got to thinking. Have you played the "Emperors New Grove" Game?
great episode man!
Rocket: Robot on Wheels is one of my favorite games of all time!
I agree about beyond it was very fractured but i still enjoyed it.
Just to give you a heads up, Shining Force 3 is incomplete. There are two other parts that were never ported to the US.
