Yes and I do hope it doesn't blow up as much as Nintendo collecting did. The shipping on these things are expensive enough already. I've started collecting big boxes since last summer after getting back the little bit I had left from when I grew up, my dad threw about 90% of them away ;_;
Outlaws is great, I remember there was a patch for 3DFX Voodoo Graphics that bumped up the frame rate and smoothed everything out. I Love pinball and picked up the Plug-N-Play a while back, simple but fun.
I cant find my old pc games but I believe I have a copy of MSDOS in a bigbox. I love reminiscing of the olden days of PC gaming. Do you remember playing online on Microsofts gaming zone or MPlayer/Heat.net?
Still finding tons of them on the shelves at thrift stores, many of them sealed still. Found alpha Centauri big box and Sid Meier's Pirates! Gold big box, both sealed! It might be on the upward trend soon but I sure don't think it's that popular yet.
Thanks so much MJR. I find such awesome games even in 2022 watching even 8 year old videos of yours. I can't tell you how many games I've added to my wishlist because of your awesome pick up videos (with Reggie). I finished all of them with you and Reggie pretty much and im going back these where you solo it. Nano Assault, had no idea it existed! Thanks!
My jaw dropped when you showed that boxed Wolfenstein 3D. Way too cool! Always love big box games, not only for their ridiculous size, but for the cool cover art. Excellent work as always!
Oh man, a Wild Arms fan! There's so few of us! Major props and even more respect for you now man! I'm just missing the physical copies of 2, and 1 as well.
Great pickups video MJR! Like a month ago i was on a Game/Cd/Vinyl expo in the Netherlands and i have met Dr.Retro.His booth was like heaven for a pc collector.I told him i recognized him from his youtube channel and the AGG episode a couple of years ago. He is such a nice guy and i bought some great ps1 games from him like Parasite Eve 2. Also i told him I'm a big fan of you and your channel! Keep up the great work man. Rock on !!!
You poured your heart and soul into this, MetalJesusRocks. Funny thing about the BattleTech: Crescent Hawks series you touched upon briefly. A few years ago when I went to some art school, I had a professor who worked on Crescent Hawks Inception, which released before Revenge (which you featured in this video). I used to own Bangai-O Spirits for the original DS years back. Truly awesome game where I would constantly customize my own ludicrous levels that got more insane over time.
A collector is a person who is afraid to forget the good memories attached to certain objects... You are definately a collector! Obtaining the objects makes you feel you secured the good memories for ever! Mental Jesus Rocks...
Homeworld is one of my favorite games of all time. I have the big box version, too! So glad you got it. At the time it was mind blowing to have a RTS in 3D space.
When I was in Seattle the other weekend I visited the Pink Gorilla near UDub. Amazing store and the employees definitely knew who you were and said nice things about ya! Great store recommendation!
Yeah it was amazing for a game store and glad I learned about it from you and Pete D. Anyways, I loved visiting Seattle and can't wait to come back in the future! If you ever make it to the DC area I have a few game store and record shop suggestions!
Solid finds there. I remember first hearing Scorpions in HS (around 1979, I think), the song "Lovedrive", from the album of the same name. There was a live set they released in 1978 called Tokyo Tapes that has a lot of the stuff from their mid-70s period, like "Speedy's Coming", etc. But there was one song they did for their Japanese audience that I don't think ever appeared on any of their US releases, other than this album. It was a rendition of the first part of a Japanese song called "Kojo no Tsuki", which the band had spent a couple of weeks learning so they could perform it in Japanese. Truly an incredible feat to hear that song translated to the Scorpions sound.
Nice finds! One of the best thrifting adventures I ever had was at a local mom and pop thrift shop.I was flipping threw the vinyls and found Zeppelin 1 and 2 for 5 bucks each!
Since you've included vinyls, I've got.three of them near in my local thrift shop and got Ruh's Moving Pictures, and two Yes LPs. £3 each and in good condition! Also my mum gave me Wish You Were Here, my most favourite Pink Floyd album. Awesome video, as always!
Medievil 1 and 2 was my jam when i was a kid, i adore these games so much, you are going to have so much fun playing those. The music is beautiful, they're dark, funny, a tiny bit of cute but all awesome :D
Very cool vinyl! Been collecting vinyl myself (even though I can't afford a record player as they're quite expensive). Just recently got Frampton's Camel album. The cream of my collection is a limited edition of Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs where the cover isn't the painting but a table full of stuff inlcuding some dominoes (obviously), whiskey & glasses and Blackie (only cost me £20, found its worth alot more). Quite jealous of that Bon Jovi record. The actual story was that Jon Bonjovi was furious at the record company for making that cover. Apparently the border had to be pink to match her nails. They had barely anytime to change it so they sprayed water onto a bin bag and then wrote the name of the album onto the bag.
Those plug n plays are really neat! I haven't played the original Shadow Warrior but the PS4 version is an absolute gem! Easily one of the best fps of late.
I have the privilege of living near not only a Goodwill, but a vintage music shop. Tons of Vinyl are ripe for the picking. Latest additions are - Billy Joel's "52nd Street," and Hiroshima's "Third Generation."
I'm glad you picked up Wild Arms 2. It's probably my favorite RPG series of all time and 2 is at the top tying with 3. The only games I don't have and haven't played yet are WA5 and Alter Code F. I don't have a physical copy of the WA1 either but I at least have it on my PS3.
Godless?! Really... I have fanboy on you a bit and say that is one of my favorite videos by them. That long, lush pullback in the beginning. The coy woman at the table... It's just brilliant.
Not sure if you’ve heard of Chris Roberts’ new game called Star Citizen? Still in development, but you can still play it. One of the most immersive space sims I’ve ever played.
awesome pickups! I especially like seeing the PC games. Zone of the Enders is a fun game, my friend from high school did the voice of the main character.
Medievil is one of the finest Playstation games you may ever play. However, the camera is a bit on the bad side, but once you get used to it, you will NOT be dissapointed, MJR.
I love these types of videos you make and I can't wait to get into this one! Also you need to make maybe one more PSP video? :p I'm still playing that console all these years later its just fantastic.
Meta Jesus, I know you said you didn't want to list all the games due to not making the video long but I'd love to know all the games you've recently picked up. Maybe you can write in the description all that you've recently got, if you have the time of cause. Great video as always.
If you enjoy "Wizardry", then you should look into picking up "Persona Q" for your new 3DS this fall. Persona Q has been compared to Wizardry in some of the early japanese previews. Your channel is one of my favorites! Keep up the good work!
Awesome video MJ - Wolfenstein was a definite good game int he day. It probably is still fun to play. Just set up a VM machine with a DOS emulator and there you go. I also was to play Falcon all the time. Great seeing the old good games. See you next week.
Elvira has two great pinball tables - the better one is Scared Stiff, but Elvira and the Party Monsters is decent too. They're part of Pinball Arcade Season 1.
Watching this has just reminded me Ive got a Pirates Of The Caribbean plug'n'play Ive gotta try out. Half the time these plug'n'plays arent great, just ok. But great to have in a collection!as there is some fun designs out there, O and Warcraft 2 was such a badass game.PC port obviously the best way to play it, but console wise I prefered it on the Saturn myself.Good stuff fella.
When I'm out looking for games I normally find some great PSP offer's for both the games and the UMD movie's. I also find that with the PS3 now due to the release of the PS4 in October last year. Sometimes but quite rarely I see a barging on the PS VITA. Because I have the newest PlayStation the PS VITA Slim with was released January this year.
Love watching your videos man they are always great! , metal saga is an amazing game I still play it! When starting off and you choose your class do not used to be a mechanic lol
I love your taste in music!! It's so awesome! I want to see your music set-up if you can do a video on that....showing your turntable, your favorite records you own and maybe an over-view of your record collection....that would be so awesome! :)
Zone of the Enders collection is fantastic value for money. ZOE1 is okay, but ZOE 2 is one of the best 3D action games I've ever played. Great visuals and soundtrack, fast and frantic gameplay, exciting set pieces and a great challenge. Prepare to swear alot XD
If you like the Dandy Warholes check out the documentary Dig!. It's on youtube, it was shot by the Warhol's and covers them and The Brian Jonestown Massacre (which you should check out if you haven't) over several years of touring and whatnot.
Lol - mmm brain did not type what I was thinking, but it would be cool if there was a DS version :) Always finding new versions of games I did not know about. Been collecting the Lode Runner games, still have not worked out how many of them there are, especially if you include all of the retro computer versions and the hand held ones!
Love me some Metal Jesus, a TH-cam channel is only as good as its host. Love your enthusiasm and knowledge of console and PC games, and shoot, Metal jesus just seems like a heck of a nice guy. Quality, video, as always! By the way, how do you play most of your PC games? I know DOS Box makes them playable, I remember what a pain it was getting some of my Sierra adventure games to play on faster computers that were coming out. But, how do you install them with the floppy and hard disk?
I wish I had someone who would give me Steel Battalion with the controller. Hope you have fun with it and don't forget to eject! Pinball plug in looks funky too. I love pinball video games. Neat it has the pull and release lever for the ball release. Really like that idea.
wow wolfenstein 3d!!! i played the shit out of that when i was young. just watching this is making me want to find a old school computer and get some computer games!!! great video!!
Oh man I love TOOL. Did you know you can get wing commander on the psp, its in the EA Replay set along with road rash, syndicate, desert strike, and mutant league football.
Glad to help build the big-box PC collection, thanks for the shout out Mr. Metal Jesus Rocks!
You rock dude! Thanks for the great donations! :)
Ahhhh some classic MJR pick ups. I remember when you first started and I used to watch these all of the time! :)
oh and check out my gaming blog MJ at www.juicygamereviews.com
Thanks man....
I feel like old Big Box PC game collecting is really starting to take off. What do you think?
Yes and I do hope it doesn't blow up as much as Nintendo collecting did. The shipping on these things are expensive enough already. I've started collecting big boxes since last summer after getting back the little bit I had left from when I grew up, my dad threw about 90% of them away ;_;
Totally. Thank goodness I've held onto all of mine. I frigging love those things. Dont make em like they used to. Sigh... the good ol' days.
Outlaws is great, I remember there was a patch for 3DFX Voodoo Graphics that bumped up the frame rate and smoothed everything out. I Love pinball and picked up the Plug-N-Play a while back, simple but fun.

Glad to see you're happy with the Shadow Warriors big box :)
The one liners in that game were amazing, on par with the Duke 3D lines!
Sweet additions to your collection! It's always fun to watch these :)
Great episode, I especially enjoy when you cover big box pc games and vinyls
Homeworld is one of my favorite games of all time. I have the big box version, too! So glad you got it. At the time it was mind blowing to have a RTS in 3D space.
When I was in Seattle the other weekend I visited the Pink Gorilla near UDub. Amazing store and the employees definitely knew who you were and said nice things about ya! Great store recommendation!
Oh really? That's awesome! Yeah, I love the Pink Gorilla stores. Great games and really cool employees

Nice Pickups! Wing Commander one of the most awesome gaming series ever. Nice boxed PC pick ups.
Medievil 1 and 2 was my jam when i was a kid, i adore these games so much, you are going to have so much fun playing those. The music is beautiful, they're dark, funny, a tiny bit of cute but all awesome :D
My Dad was on the team behind Slipstream 5000, check out their other game ,Hardwar, it's an early space/trading sim
I've never heard of Slipstream 5000. That looks like a lot of fun. I'll have to try and find a copy of that!
So awesome love collecting for the pc. Ever growing collection.
Very cool vinyl! Been collecting vinyl myself (even though I can't afford a record player as they're quite expensive). Just recently got Frampton's Camel album. Amazing video MJR! I get so many good game ideas from your videos man! Love that Wolfenstein retro game! :)
Homeworld is SOOOOO good. I can't believe you just got a copy of that one.
I have the privilege of living near not only a Goodwill, but a vintage music shop. Tons of Vinyl are ripe for the picking. Latest additions are - Billy Joel's "52nd Street," and Hiroshima's "Third Generation."
fun fact: did you know? crescent hawk's revenge was made by westwood and it is Dune 2's gameplay prototype.
I HAVE DIRECTED A FEW MUSIC VIDEOS FOR THE DANDYS, SO AWESOME THAT YOU DIG EM.
What?! Really? Which videos? I'd love to know...
Godless?! Really... I have fanboy on you a bit and say that is one of my favorite videos by them. That long, lush pullback in the beginning. The coy woman at the table... It's just brilliant.

MetalJesus! You need to get some hip-hop vinyl, some Madvillainy, Liquid Swords, Illmatic, stuff like that!
Awesome video MJ - Wolfenstein was a definite good game int he day. It probably is still fun to play. Just set up a VM machine with a DOS emulator and there you go.

Thanks! I do love music almost as much as video games. Two great tastes, that taste great together!

You look like the kind of guy that would open carry a semi-auto at Target.
I'm a lover, not a fighter buddy. Thanks for watching the video.
Fuck yeah The Dandy Warhols is a great band, one of my all time favorites.
Very nice on getting Wolfenstein 3D!
Did not know there was a Wing Commander game for the DS, cool.
Wing Commander on the DS!? Are you serious? **runs off to Google**
Lol - mmm brain did not type what I was thinking, but it would be cool if there was a DS version :) Always finding new versions of games I did not know about. Been collecting the Lode Runner games, still have not worked out how many of them there are, especially if you include all of the retro computer versions and the hand held ones!

The Scorpions album Virgin Killer has a ridiculous cover ( the Shenker bros are awesome guitarists ) .
Yeah that Virgin Killers album is pretty crazy. It would NEVER fly today...
Right on . I need to give it a listen too . Thanks .
Sweet !!! I'll look it up ! : )
Fly to the rainbow is pretty Kool ! I dig it .
