Remember, this was created for a song at an amusement park, not as a pure Music Video. I would love to go to the venue to hear this! If you've never listened to Saint Saens's orchestral version. I would highly recommend it! I think what you need to listen to is Kingdom of Heaven, Part 3 from Omega Alive. That is what you're looking for.

Epica was asked by Efteling to sing the song Danse Macabre (they probably added the Ghost In Me title) for the opening of their new dark ride also called Danse Macabre. The dark ride Danse Macabre is a run down haunted monastery. It was invented by people in Efteling with a total new ride mechanism so this dark ride you will not see in other themeparks in the world. Danse Macabre was an already existing song which Epica altered a bit. Danse Macabre is a danse with the dead. That is also what the dark ride called Danse Macabre is in Efteling. It is a danse with epic music, a ride with spinning church benches and a visual display of creepy things you would see in a run dow monastery. The waiting line leads you through a cemetery with music and moving parts. At the opening of Danse Macabre the waiting line was 4 hours to get in this dark ride. People from other countries came for the opening of this dark ride and it was all over the news on tv. Efteling is one of the oldest and themeparks in the world. It has a huge fairytale forest which you can get lost in for hours, some of the best dark rides in the world and rollercoasters. It is filled with fairies, goblins, fairytales and even the ATM and garbage cans are themed. The garbage cans are depicted as funny men who suck up garbage. Kids see this as a game so kids try to find as much garbage as they can to put in the garbage sucking trashs can so the park is always clean. As a proud Dutchie I just wanted to share the original music from this attraction. I've been to the Efteling since I was a little girl and it's the most incredible amusementpark. The Efteling and Epica has done an amazing job with this collaboration. The Danse Macabre attraction (onride on TH-cam) in The Efteling is absolutely stunning! Definitely something you have to visit if you love haunted spooky rides.
the efteling really didn't a over the top hard rock/metal sound so epica slowed it a bit down the yellow and blue eyes are a reference to the black kitten( 1:20),that has the same eyes..the story goes that the kitten is a dark and sinister shadow ( the unnameable) it hides in the abbey
Tbf if there is a problem with the song it’s mostly the fault of Camille Saint-Saens rather than Epica’s arrangement. It’s not like they wrote it. If they had brought in Marks vocals they might have scared the kids on the ride.

Oh, can you not consider it as a typical EPICA that you had to hold on a higher pedestal? This is a special project for this season! Of course, it's a mere promo song for a theme park. Besides, this is a special song that was epicalized by a classic song during the 19th century. It's a bit unfair to judge this work negatively without having these things to even consider.
