Antminer S9 soundproof box DIY -20dB

- Box was made from medium-density fibreboard with insulation combination of medium hard foam and foam foil. Suction and exhaus are made from 1m long soundproof pipe, diameter 15cm (with 2,5cm insulation).
This solution makes -20dB noise level. Cost around 100 USD and one day of work.
We have developed oil cooling technology in China. After oil cooling, the temperature can be controlled at about 30°, and the computing power can be overclocked by 15%-20%.

Go to Walmart buy the large lifetime cooler and just use the duct connectors and cut your holes for your antminer and use that. It’s much faster.
Do you know this soundproof box for the antminer could sell for loads on Amazon worldwide? Why is no one taking it seriously as it is the only mess - the noise stopping one from buying the antminer 9/ 9i. The electricity can be managed if one makes enough coins to cover but the noise will not be accepted in most residences.
Make loads of sound proof boxes and sell on Amazon or eBay or other now! lol... seriously.
I'd buy one, I lack the tools and carpentry skills to make then myself. The ones I saw on ebay where cheapy plasitic POS this is way higher quality.
@@leifleoden5464 I been thinking about making one put of a cheap cabinet at lowes with sound proofing foam and home made brackets. (I own a larger scale 3d printer) just out of curiosity let's say you have a bitmain s19 pro how much would you pay to dampen the noise?

hey i would really appreciate if you answered these questions.. 1) how hot does it get compared to leaving it outside the box? 2) does it make 20db less.. so 80db - 20db = 60db? do you keep the heat circulating inside the house or one side of tube outside? thanks a lot!

1. I`m not sure, but when you leave it outide box - temperature can be around 75C°
2. Now it is more insulated and very quite - I have to measure it again, but from this first testing video it was -20dB, so yes, it was around 55-60dB.
3. We use heat from Antminer for heating living room, especially during winter tie it was pretty good. Later I have to move it completly outside on the garden, because get to hot when you have perfectly insulated house.
I run mine in the living room and vent it up the chimney we don't use, keeps the heat out during the summer, or you can use a dryer line and split them in two adaptor to outside vent.
I have a similar box, but I did not find any soundproof pipe, I am using 12cm diameter aluminium pipe (also 1 meter long), and I notice that most of the noise is coming out from the edges of the pipe... so my question is, does that pipe works also as a sound barrier or if you measure the db at the end of the pipe you will get the "expected" 65-7db? Thanks.
From 1m long noise reducing pipe I can hear only air from fans, so I think this is the most important thing of this soundproof box concept. So there is almost no sound from the pipe.

Would layering up some more fans onto the s9 increase airflow and slow them down, or are they constant rpm no matter what?
not necessary add more fans, it works good for now, rpm are constant
What kind of foam is it? All I can find is really expensive. Does the psu not over heat in there?
It not overheated, because fresh air go inside miner and hot air go directly out of box. Foam is recycled foam

Beck Man inside box is around 32°C and temperature of exhaust air is max 45°C

does power supply has no outgoing air ? doesnt it get hot ?
It is not necessary, because power supply does not heat so much and heat go out through antminer. Power supply is around 35-38°C.
Its been 3 years, how much have you earned by now?

What are the dimensions of your box, please?
around 60 x 30 x 35 cm to fit it include soundproof material, but bigger will be better for now. I think it has minimum acceptable size.
