Hey Peter thank you for this video series. I'm am about ready to assembly my wife 2004 corolla, got all the critical parts for the engine block like bearings, trust washers, crankshaft bearings and rings from Maleh, engine gasket set from Apex, the head was assembled for me at the shop but i am doing this part myself. block have been throughly cleaned as well as the pistons and connecting rods i am using from one engine to the the other, reason why is the original engine block I will be using parts from the actual engine in the car that we are overhauling, is in better shape than the bad engine, i only needed to deglaze the cylinder bores, did not have to rectify the block as it is straight and passed the straight edge and light test plus the gauges tolerances tests, so i am using all the pistons and connecting rods from the other engine and also its crankshaft which was just polished at the shop, with that and the standard set of rings and bearings from Maleh, I think I should be ok. So paying special attention and taking my time to do this right. I am using an engine mount to assemble the engine, Im think it is easier and convenient to do it that way. Your videos are great help in these subjects. I am also following the Haynes manual to the letter. Thanks!

    Hi Peter
Thanks for the good videos, I have watched most of your videos and I have learn t a lot from. However, I would like to ask if there is any way of find out which piston goes in which cylinder and which mains caps with each rods because I am rebuilding a Toyota Voxy 1az-fse engine and I had taken photos for everything when I removed them just to remember which goes where when I reinstall them but unfortunately lost the pictures and I am now in a big trouble.
Is there anyway you can make a video showing us all codes and characters on each corn road including the mains caps for each rod please?
I am really desperate and I don't think I can get the answer from elsewhere here in the UK because these cars are very rare here but you seem to be working on these engines and you are really very knowledgeable about them and I have already benefited from your videos.
I hope you can Help me.
    Thanks.

Do you really need a torque wrench to rebuild an engine? Like connecting rods?

Do you know the torque specs for the Audi ALZ engine or from where can I get these information? Some manuals perhaps?
