    I have few doubts.. Please help me !
    How can I determine the Characteristic Length of a car with its windows open for external CFD analysis in order to determine the drag force ? Also, what y+ value would you recommend in that case if k-w SST turbulent model is used ?

    • @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972
      @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Sorry for the late reply.
      The characteristic length of the car will be same with the windows open. It will be the total length of the car. I am not sure about the y+ value for your case but you can keep it below or equal to 1 or keep it between 30 and 300. Hope that helps.

    • @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972
      @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Make sure that the boolean subtract operation has been performed correctly. Then you can reduce your element size slowly until the mesh gets successfully generated. Keep sharing and supporting.

      make sure that the domain is far greater than the model or vehicle and don't forget to keep outlet side greater from others as explained in the video

    Hey can you tell me why car is placed at the center of the enclosure

    • @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972
      @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello. Ideally the wake region behind the car should be greater than the entry region so that we can accurately capture the flow behind the car.
      But in this tutorial for simplification purposes the car is placed at the center of the enclosure.

    • @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972
      @cfdbabaopenfoamansyscfd2972  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello. You can calculate drag coefficient in FLUENT by going in reports > forces > select the drag direction vectors and press compute. In the right side corner of console you will get value of drag coefficient.
