What a terrifying thought that must be as ambulance personnel - arrive at the hospital with a high priority trauma patient and find that there are already tons of other ambulances there. Thanking God for all the hard-working first responders, medics, fire department, police, hospital workers, and everyone else out there taking care of people in need.
The paramedics and firemen deserve a lot of credit your service is deeply appreciated thanks to everyone who responds keep them safe out there way to go appreciate you guys job well done you should be proud ! Joe
Another great video! I loved how the driver at the intersection on the way to the hospital (about 10:30) hesitated about what to do, then drove through the red light ahead of you, and then proceeded to outpace you for some reason. I just don't understand people's thinking. You all do an excellent job with your use of sirens and are cautious drivers. Thanks, again.
this gives me memories when I was in a really bad mva because back in 2009 me and my family were driving home afternoon when we got done shopping my grandfather was blocking traffic and my grandma said "move the car" "move the car" move the car" and he didn't listen so while we where looking out our windows as we saw headlights coming right at us and said "move the car" "move the car" and he still didn't listen and as she was about to say it again that same car with headlights we saw smashed right into us and smashed our passenger door in and tore the entire bottom of our car off and when I was going through the MRI scan it turned out I was suffering from severe brain trauma and I spent the next year in the hospital and I was only 5 years old when it happened and till this day I have been going through really bad anxiety about that moment I'll never forget
Delmar FD is a combined department, hence the siren that went off in the video twice. The initial response with A-74 was with career personnel who were at the station, but Rescue 74 had to respond with volunteers, hence why the siren went off; it was to call the volunteers to the station for duty.
Delmar spans 2 states, one half in Delaware and the other half in Maryland. Delmar Fire Department covers both sides, but each side is covered by that states respective law enforcement, apart from the usual mutual aid where needed.

They were calling for volunteers to report to the station. Its pretty common in most areas where there are volunteer departments to use a siren for alerts because no everyone is always near their pagers or radios.

Is this MD? I️ noticed the md state trooper at the accident scene
Boris Kvass Yes, Boris this was on the Maryland side of the border.
just found this video, but the building straight ahead at the 7:56 mark (near the tower) is actually the state police barracks

Great video again, did the high priority patient make it?
Anyone else notice the old-time car @ the 5:39 mark?
Nix789 Nix789 that is a henry j the company only lasted from 1950-1954 so they are very rare
Can tell by the outside mirrors that this had to be a FORD Unit of some kind
am I right? LOL
Andrew Silva Yes, Ford F450
Were both patients transported in A-74
andrew canterbury No. A-74 took the high priority and B-74 took the low priority.
Why didn't both units go at once to the PIA??
Stan Daniels The ambulance responded immediately with career staff. The Rescue required volunteer staff responding from home.
Great stuff
Thanks Mr Roberts!
