    I had a Street Cup and modded the crap out of it. TEC CAM, X-Pipe, mufflers, intake mods and BMC filter, full tune with ignition advance and we ended up with 14hp more peak, and at redline, a 20hp increase. The bike actually hits the rev limiter now. Better tires helped, and we put on Fox shocks, progressive fork springs with heavier oil and preload adjusters, etc...
    Went to a -1 front sprocket for more acceleration and didn't lose any top speed because the cam gave us 1,700 more usable revs... The stock bike stops pulling at 5,500, but the modded bike pulls hard right to 7,200rpm...
    Brilliant little bike, once you dump some time and money into it...

    Great review guys. They look like great bikes. Someone once commented that it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive fast car slowly. I think this applies to bikes as well. At least on public roads. Also it looks like Joanna F Benz was doing some guerrilla marketing in your commentary sections.

    The on/off road tyres are generally described with a percentage. Most adventure bike tyres or what you see on these scramblers are road biased at about 80/20 for example Avon Trailriders are stated as 90/10. I reckon that's the best way to describe them. Loved the video!

    This is a very encouraging video. Referring to the street cup: I've always been looking for that "Better-to-ride-a-slow-bike-fast, than-a-fast-bike-slow" bike. I've always missed my CBR400RR. I've owned many great bikes including an 06 Speed Triple, and my current 2016 FJ09, but I've never felt the same "fun factor" as my baby blade.

  • @layingblacklines

    The small size of the Street Cup actually looks pretty cool when ridden. Slo-mo clips like 0:58 and 03:18 are cool as fuck on the Street Cup.

  • @bsmukler
    @bsmukler 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've seen the bikes in person and I think they look great. Granted, not a lot of power, but I think they would be a very good entry bike for new riders. Easy to ride, and lots of fun. Oh, and they handle the off-road stuff much better than a GSX...

  • @thewindow6
    @thewindow6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not so sure about these bikes being sold purely on looks these days, now its a genuinely large market and there is so much choice that, even though a Triumph might be chosen because it's a Triumph, its worth knowing that the bike is going to perform respectably.

    Nice review! Have you ridden the Scrambler in hot weather yet? I’m curious about heat from the pipes. People seem to be divided about how much of an issue it is. I’m considering the bike for a daily commuter and light touring machine in India, where summer temps break 104F/40C. Other than the pipe heat, the SS fits the bill perfectly.

  • @Undutchabledave

    where have you guys filmed this? Has 44 teeth started its own garage? if not have you guys considered a bike shop / garage that reviews new kit? that would be amazing!!

    • @FortyFourTeeth
      @FortyFourTeeth  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reviewing kit is an iffy subject. Size and fit is so subjective, and only crash testing is valid form of 'review,' which we have done on a regular basis!

    • @Undutchabledave
      @Undutchabledave 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      :-) oh I didn't just mean the kit as it helmet and clothes, i meant more as in the bikes, but I appreciate your time to reply to a fan, keep up the good work!! I shall be ordering my hoodie very soon!!

    'When you ride like a bit of a Gareth.'
    Is that actually a commonly used phrase in England? I hope so, because then I can implement it into my repertoire and piss about with it all time long in english classes. Hehe.
    Much love from Germany, you Gareth's

    • @oldhairpin
      @oldhairpin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't heard it before, however Tim, the importance of the English humour is often to invent such phrases on the spot. So, if I knew you, I would say," So, when you're riding like a bit of a...Timothy,"
      The humour is in the voice inflexion and phrasing and emphasis, not so much the content ;-)

    • @timschwarze1739
      @timschwarze1739 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oldhairpin I had the feeling that it might be the case! You can hear so many british people talking utter nonsense, but it still kind of makes sense after all, if you get what I'm trying to say here.
      Alright, I'll try my best to phrase and stress the bollocks out of made up sentences.
      Thank you very much, oldhairpin! :D

      shawn newton I looked at the triumph for a while but for me I'll stick with the V7 ,if only because it's the bike it's simply the bike I wanted. I like the look and the Italian-ness of it. Plus I have to park on the street in the elements so the shaft drive if the Guzzi was a good justification but I wouldn't have changed my mind. If I had a garage and a big bag of money than the new thruxton R would probably be in the line up. You?

    "Looks" my nuts. Sure, you can strap a rocket engine in anything...but unless you're headed to the moon, it's simply inappropriate.
    While the new Trumpets are gorgeous beasts, it's their feel that makes them truly great bikes. You younguns think because a bike makes big numbers it's superior, when it's actually electronically knocking back everything to save your ass. The fact you can't scrape pegs tells you everything you need to know. All the engine in the world, wouldn't get you thru that corner any faster. If you learned to ride a bike smoothly WITHOUT the electronic aides, you probably wouldn't notice the "wallow."
