The state of so-called "motorcycle reviews" on TH-cam leaves a lot to be desired. The majority of these channels provide zero real information about the bikes they "test", and offer up what amounts to a "reaction video" of them riding some motorcycle a friend let them borrow, or one were loaned by a shop they duped into believing they are some internet superstar/motorcycle god. 44 Teeth on the other hand does it right, with a (for me) perfect blend of humor, and legitimate information about the bikes they test. Thank you gentleman. Keep it up. TLDR: 44Teeth is the shit
Bit of an old comment, but I came back to this video to remind myself of their views on the bike- and that's exactly what is great about this channel. It's *their* views, not some kind of prompt or anything, Al literally got on the bike and told us exactly how he found it. It's kind of like going to a moto café and talking to the denizens there about certain bikes, most of the time they know exactly what a bike is like, it's quirks and it's qualms. Truly, 44 Teeth is one of, if not, the best Motorcycle review channel out there.
I went and testrode this bike last Thursday, having only this video to give an inkling of what to expect, and honestly I don't think any form of media could do the bike justice. I almost traded in my '07 Daytona then and there, but the price to pay is still too damn high for me right now. Hands down the smoothest bike I've ever ridden. Has the power of my daytona with bucketloads more torque, a much more confidence inspiring chassis and suspension and amazing electronic aids makes it my new favourite bike of all time. It has double the MPG of my bike, and a similarly sized tank with the ability to actually see how full the tank is and how many miles are left is so useful. The only faults I found were the blurry mirrors due to vibration and the difficulty of getting the kick stand down. That's it. Nothing else can come close now and it makes me depressed whenever I sit on my Daytona and think about how much better this bike is.
i have the 765rs. Yeah the kickstand is easy to miss. I have to clutch in to get a good clear view behind me. I do have to rev the shit out of it around town. I got a 2 tooth larger rear sprocket and now its fah nom anal. The slipper clutch is awesome, but it takes getting used to.. as its like a light switch which makes it a little hard to feather. Over all its an awesome bike. There is no equal in terms of quality, hp and lightweight nakeds.. MV agusta.. MV no, as their ride by wire is mediocre at best. Ducati monster.. only the 1200 is sort of cool, but heavy. Yamaha, torque monsters but mediocre performance. Honda, bleh.. Suzuki.. bleh sv650, KTM 690 duke.. bleh. Triumph does not have a competitor with the 765rs that is remotely close.
I recently found the R version used with only 2,400 miles on it and some tasteful mods for less than 8,000 bucks (US). They are out there. I agree, there really is no competition. Refined, smooth yet don’t be fooled, it will snap your head off above 8k. What a great bike. Light, nimble, handsome and a totally confidence inspiring. What more do you need?
In 2009, during the 2nd tour of the Pyrenees my 50 yr old spine cried enough. My trusty ZX-6R was traded for a new Street Triple. I still have it as it does everything I want from camping touring to hooning around the lanes, it's never let me down so i'm keeping this one till I retire.
I own the 2018 765 RS and it is honestly the most versatile bike I’ve ever ridden. Completely lovely to live with, but it puts such a smile on my face at the same time. Such a brilliant thing
44Teeth is one of best things to happen to the motorcycle scene on TH-cam. Honest, relate-able, funny and (as far as I can tell) no back hander bullshit reviews.
I remember watching this video and saying to myself I'm gonna buy this bike but who knew I would buy the exact bike you were riding during this launch! Noticed the plate is the same. Value just went up 10x
May have just bought a street triple rs 765 as my first road bike because of this video 😂 it tipped me over the edge to commit Keep up the great work guys 👌
I've got a 2014 Street Triple R on the PCP and it's due to go back in June. I was planning on chopping it in for a Speed R and then they made this.........more power than my current bike, less weight, electrowizardry and a load of bling? Ooh yes please!!!! I'll be heading off to my local dealer to put down my deposit this week. :-)
"Late apex".. completely misses apex... I don't know if that was meant to be irony but it gave me a good laugh! What a great review. First video I've seen from this channel. Subscribed!
Even though I've put a deposit down, they know it'll hinge on the back to back ride I do with the RS, the new Speed R and my existing Triple R. My existing bike is great and has a lot of decent parts fitted, including a quickshifter. First world problems I know, looking forward to test day.
Thank you. Great honest review. I have the R version and it’s the best street bike I’ve ever owned. Refined yes, but properly fast as well. Anything above 8k and this bike jumps to attention. Plus I like it’s more understated looks.
At 13:55 you can see that the low beam is burnt out both bulbs are H4 or 9003 depending on what country you are they are dual filament meaning that they have a high and low built into each bulb (For some reason the low goes out first i would assume because it is on more often). I have a 2017RS and have had plenty of problems with it blowing bulbs. In 5,000 miles I have gone through 8 sets of bulbs. I have no idea what the problem is but in a number of press releases I have seen these bikes running with one bulb burnt out. They must know of the problem but keep telling me that they have never had one person have a similar problem. I love every part of this bike accept for the headlights but I have no idea why they cant put a set of killer bright LED lights on this bike at its price point. Going back to triumph on this Friday to have another specialist try to fix the problem. Also the TFT display has started(in the last 100 miles) to shutter or cut out when at high revs just before redline.
+Ryan Brown I'm assuming they've looked at the voltage? Given that your TFT is acting up at high revs, that would be the first place I'd look, but as you are having another specialist look into it I'm sure that's already been covered. I've got an RS and my heated grips have never worked correctly. I'm having that looked at after the first of the year. GL with your issue
Guys. Brilliant review video. The track footage was great, the still shots were fantastic. Maybe not a game changer but could that arguably be because the 675 exists already? Anyway, loved the mixture of banter and awesome footage.
Grab the full owners manual here: www.triumphmotorcycles.co.za/services/manuals?bike={F4E02300-84C2-4AB5-82A9-B51914FDE0CD} (If the answer is not in there, just call your local dealership, as I did not service my bike)
Cracking review and great edit, sound was much better on this one too. Just those Drift shots chaps that 4k drift can't come soon enough, I hope it finishes the only weakness in these vids or you boys need to get on the GoPro's. That's said it's still way better than I can knock out.
So what bikes does Al actually own currently? We know all about Baron's collection obviously, but I'm wondering what the other half of the relationship rides day to day..
As Liam says, it's difficult for me to own a bike as I'm constantly testing. I couldn't afford one anyway! My eldest has just started racing - skint ain't the word
44Teeth that's pretty selfless, giving up yours for the lad! Though I imagine things like going to Catalunya to ride a brand new Triumph takes the edge off..
Looks awesome..... but I'm hoping this just pushes the prices down on current ones. Still a great bike! Anyways great review, I really love your format and chemistry.
Just wrote off my Ducati monster and am now looking at one of these very seriously. Thanks for making it easier to put my hands in my pocket boys. I just have to wait for the insurance check to come in . . . .
Peter Dy Triumph will be the sole engine suppliers for moto2 in 2019 and moto2 needs to be a middle weight engines so I would say keep your eyes peeled in the next few years. I'd say Triumph have nailed it in the last few years apart from the 1000cc sport bike market so I really hope the moto2 venture inspires them bring out a 1000+ sport bike.
That's the most aggressively I've ever seen Al ride on a launch. What a brilliant bike! It makes me wonder if there is a point to the £15k I spunked on a 1200cc supernaked!
Most excellent! Enjoyed this. Heard lots of good things about striples and wouldn't mind a rip on one. But I will keep my old carb T100. Still enjoy that one lots.
Well they said the RS version he was riding was priced like the MT 10. I think I would get the MT 10.I'm not needing a "classy" bike to make me feel good, just one that will scare the shit out of me! LOL!
bikee4 so you would go for the mt 09. because the streety still has not convinced me yet .. :) but I will wait and testride them. Another point that still bothers me is the release of the 790 duke .. a 'mini' beast, but there is the question will it always function, always start.. I I had never problems with my yamahas for example mid December started without problems.. Long story short: Mt 09 ftw.
It depends what you want. The Street Triple is so good because it's like a swiss army knife. Yet it has very few compromises and even with those compromises you can fix that with aftermarket. The Street Triple you can Tour on. It's comfortable with a pillion. It bangs around twisties. This is why buying a bike is subjective. Because only you know what you're going to use it for. Now if you just said you wanted the fastest track bike welp R1 or RSV4 boom there you go. Now if you want something that is a wheelie machine to scare the shit out of you then Super Duke R it up and skip the mt/fz 09. If you want a bike that many people will stop to look at Buy an MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR. Holy shit that name is like a deep throat.
Question: I is the R-version better for street-use only? I'm leaning towards the RS, because of the overal better components. I like the mirrors better and I want a quickshifter and maybe an exaust. But, I'm not planning on taking it to the track. So I worry that the RS' suspension might be a little bit too stiff for the road, and the brakes too hard. Also the torque kicks in lower on the R.
awesome review, I know I shouldn't really say anything, but my buddy at Triumph has acknowledged they are working on the new Daytona 765R, looking forward to that being released
Benjay1975 I really hope you aren't taking the piss haha. F3 can't compete purely because MV are up the shitter, and the gsxr 750 sales must be almost 0 by now. If they make a Daytona 765 however, I am gonna be one broke chap 😂
That dash makes the thing on my MT-10 look straight out of the 00's... I might have to go back to Triumph eventually, no rush though, I'm currently loving the crossplane insanity and dirty noises from the de-cat exhaust. I really did love my previous '13 STR though, it was good at touring and pestering 1000cc bikes round Cadwell Park.
I wonder if that top end over 8K rpm will be available in the other versions of the street triple with the lower spec engines. How will these compare with the MT-09 since they would be closer price wise, that I would like to know.
i'm so glad i'm choosing this one. was on the look for a second hand middleweight allrounder, and was either this or the mt09 sp. looks like i chose correctly
What are they like for tall people long term? I'm 6 foot 6 and struggling to find a modern 'sport' bike that is fun but not cramped. Been looking at these, mts, z1000 and cb1000
Rob Semple go with the Tuono Factory or the SuperDuke if you want that, but if you have to choose between the MT10 and BMW, take the bimmer. its more refined and hair better at everything than yamaha. but both are bloody good.
Y'all freaking rocked that review, as always. Actually, any chance on a suspension and breaks brake down? You lot seem to be the only guys to go more into depth about that stuff but it's still all witchcraft and wizardry as to which is better and why.
Interesting that you say weight in the front makes it feel more confident, to me atm it seemes the other way round would be cool if you would share some riding technique and experiences
I have never ridden on a track, it looks exhilarating. I wish I could've done it when I was your age. but now I am allot older. but I just came across a 2017 Triumph Street Triple for sale in clean condition with only 1.800 km on it. and I am considering buying it. but I don't think I will be knee dragging if I buy it. I actually came across three bikes at the same time and I am not sure which one I want to get. the other bikes are a 2018 BMW s1000r with around 2.400 km on it, in totally clean condition. and a 2019 Ducati Supersport non s model. with only 2.200 km on it. all three bikes are so nice so I don't know which way to go. I did test ride a 765 rs a couple of years ago, but I have never ridden the other two bikes. and they are a couple hour drive away from me. so I am having trouble making up my mind. and if I wait to long they will all get sold out from under me. any opinions ?
This bike looked like the answer to all my questions. But with less low end and what you said about the suspension / low speed throttle I'm not so sure anymore.. or am I just nit picking at this point? I ride whenever I can, my gf loves to go pillion. We occasionally go on longer rides (400 miles) Yet I need something that can bang it out in the twisties and give some sort of contention to 1000cc's. How was the wind resistance Fagan? Fagan or Chris do you have any other suggestions?
Is there any way to get rid of the lag on the ride by wire throttle? I rode one yesterday and love the bike but hated the throttle lag. Anyone know what was the last year street triple that didnt have ride by wire?

What a great review - in my opinion you two have got these medium length reviews spot on
was trying to like this comment but it has 44 likes, so leaving it there.

@@greenrolaids I would compare the Duke 790 to this and wanna know what people would think
That ending is why 44Teeth is better than MCN
and every second prior lmao
and many, many other reasons
Have u guys seen powerdrift?
Howler Honda yeah, that paid by everyone channel 😂
They are good but i doubt better.
Very enjoyable review. I like the format of a sit-down chat with on-bike clips dropped-in. The 'Triple looks fantastic value.

I love how quick the speedometer updates. I wish the KTM would do the same on the 2017 model I just bought!
That thing sounds brilliant
Wonder how it would sound stuck in San Bernarghetto quick sand
bakerXderek whenever you come down to san diego again id let you ride my 16 street triple rx
CHEAH!!!
44Teeth is one of best things to happen to the motorcycle scene on TH-cam. Honest, relate-able, funny and (as far as I can tell) no back hander bullshit reviews.
Best review of this bike I've watched. Love how your channel is shaping up. Glad you haven't lost the jokes with the 44 Teeth gig!
I remember watching this video and saying to myself I'm gonna buy this bike but who knew I would buy the exact bike you were riding during this launch! Noticed the plate is the same. Value just went up 10x
When 44 puts up a new video my day gets better :)
May have just bought a street triple rs 765 as my first road bike because of this video 😂 it tipped me over the edge to commit
Keep up the great work guys 👌
How did you find the bike in the end?
I love watching you two, you crack me up. Think I might have to test ride the new street trip now sounds right up my back alley.
This review is one of the main reasons I just bought my 2018 Street Triple r
Wife got a 2018 RS in May. This thing is a KILLER bike. It's made me almost want to go in and buy the white RS version!
Best vid ever guys. The format is spot on. Let bald guy so the riding and the hairy dude do the asking of questions. Good job!😬
Thanks 44 teeth for helping me make the decision, I've just ordered one! 👍
For me it was Zack Courts whipping the thing around the track that sold me. Well, and my own test ride of course! Enjoy your bike!
Just watched MCN's review of this same bike at the same launch.....I bang on about it, but MCN is pony compared to 44Teeth.
Hahaha "3 hours of really hard prostitution" I freaking lost it
" at least 3 hours with a realy hot prostitute " ;-)
Another epic review! 44Teeth is the best motorcycle channel!
Great review the edits in this put the other channels to shame different level
finally a channel where they show your riding video, while talking about it ;)
Just love you guys and especially your reviews which you give in a unbiased and how you find it manor. Cheers 44 teeth.
Your reviews are outstanding.
Thanks SB 👊🏼
Bought one on the back of this test review. Seems like its the complete package - no pressure !
i love my 16 RX. couldnt imagin how much better it could be. exciting stuff
Finally a street triple worthy of the name since about 2010
"Late apex".. completely misses apex... I don't know if that was meant to be irony but it gave me a good laugh! What a great review. First video I've seen from this channel. Subscribed!
On that corner you go wide in the middle of it otherwise you are off the racing line. Hit that apex all you want but you'll be doing slow lap times.
I need one of these in my life!! keep up the good work guys, great review as always.
Great vid👍 l put a deposit on the RS last month with my street R in part ex just waiting for them to arrive in the toy shop ha
And me...
Really struggling to decide between this and the Speed 'R'...
YarekBalear Me too . But think l will regret it if l don't get the RS
YarekBalear this
Even though I've put a deposit down, they know it'll hinge on the back to back ride I do with the RS, the new Speed R and my existing Triple R.
Brilliant review guys
Just one gripe with the vid: it's an ENGINE not a motor.
One gripe with bike: Upshift only quick shifter is pointless
Thank you
I'll be buying one. i owned the street triple rx and loved it, so this sounds perfect for me.
hmmmmm time to start counting my money box :D
I love these long-form type reviews
Great review as usual, I missed comparison to the former
yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!! I am looking forward to try it within a month!! My next motorbike, that's for sure! 😎
Mathieu Dupuis - nice choice. You won't be disappointed
44Teeth Thank you so much Al or Baron... I am getting so impatient! Keep up the great work!!!
I'm waiting for the R version... there goes the kids college fund :)

You summed it up what a good bike it is by stating if you only owned one machine this would be it. Thanks for the look fellas.

tbh he wouldn't need to own a bike because he test rides bikes for 44teeth and fast bikes mags
VW Transporter ?
Ben WoodHead good question mate I'm also curious
As Liam says, it's difficult for me to own a bike as I'm constantly testing. I couldn't afford one anyway! My eldest has just started racing - skint ain't the word
44Teeth that's pretty selfless, giving up yours for the lad! Though I imagine things like going to Catalunya to ride a brand new Triumph takes the edge off..
So glad we can't smell the video !!
Looks awesome..... but I'm hoping this just pushes the prices down on current ones. Still a great bike! Anyways great review, I really love your format and chemistry.
What an awesome machine the RS looks triumph on point with the 765 😍
Love it! Great review guys. Can't wait to get up close to one of these
Just wrote off my Ducati monster and am now looking at one of these very seriously. Thanks for making it easier to put my hands in my pocket boys. I just have to wait for the insurance check to come in . . . .
Yes, been waiting for this vid! Jizzy jizzy bang bang.
what about flickability right to left?
They already said it is more flickable than the 675 Street.
its very flickable
Sorted out the sound quality 👍🏻 Well done.
Fagan is the BOMB. VBG brought me to 44t but Fagan is the anchor.
great review lads , such a nice bike
That Superman poster is marvelous. :-D
So does this bode well for Triumph making a Daytona 765?
I wasn't sure if it was these guys or Motorcyclist mag. that mentioned the Daytona isn't dead.
I'm almost at the point of selling my 2013 Street Triple and 2014 FZ09 for this bike alone. Its PERFECT!
That's the most aggressively I've ever seen Al ride on a launch. What a brilliant bike! It makes me wonder if there is a point to the £15k I spunked on a 1200cc supernaked!
Awesome review, looking forward to having a go on one!
Thumbs up for the fart in a bike review. Glorious.
Great review lads. Looks the business. Not enough to tempt me from the new GSXR-1000R, but still looks good ;)
Most excellent! Enjoyed this. Heard lots of good things about striples and wouldn't mind a rip on one. But I will keep my old carb T100. Still enjoy that one lots.
So what would you pick, if you had to?
Torque Monster Mt09 or feather weight Streety?
Well they said the RS version he was riding was priced like the MT 10. I think I would get the MT 10.I'm not needing a "classy" bike to make me feel good, just one that will scare the shit out of me! LOL!

Al,s own bike is a Honda Melody with tuned dust caps!!
The fun thing about proper naked bikes is that the fun can be had at legal speeds without all the fun being in the upper rev range.
Excellent review guys, thanks.
Sound is great from that bike. Just can't get past that protruding headlight pod. Where's the Supersport review video guys?
Remember when there was such an uproar over Triumph getting rid of the frog eyes headlamps? Is it even an issue anymore?
That bike is just awesome.
Question: I is the R-version better for street-use only?
I'm leaning towards the RS, because of the overal better components. I like the mirrors better and I want a quickshifter and maybe an exaust. But, I'm not planning on taking it to the track. awesome review, I know I shouldn't really say anything, but my buddy at Triumph has acknowledged they are working on the new Daytona 765R, looking forward to that being released
The new Daytona will fit into the 600CC category. They will not make a 765 because it will take them out of racing.
right, so they wouldn't want to compete against the GSXR 750 or F3 800 market placement...
Benjay1975 I really hope you aren't taking the piss haha. F3 can't compete purely because MV are up the shitter, and the gsxr 750 sales must be almost 0 by now. If they make a Daytona 765 however, I am gonna be one broke chap 😂
BEST REVIEWS!
Been waiting for this.
The reasons they state in this review are just reiterating all the things I've known about the ST3 for the last 4 years. You don't need a super sport.
Want !
What we need now is a Street Triple RS - GT
That dash makes the thing on my MT-10 look straight out of the 00's... I might have to go back to Triumph eventually, no rush though, I'm currently loving the crossplane insanity and dirty noises from the de-cat exhaust.
I really did love my previous '13 STR though, it was good at touring and pestering 1000cc bikes round Cadwell Park.
Yeah but apparently this one has less low down grunt which makes a big difference.
full blooded willy waving, best thing I've heard in ages, lol
the pull
the sound
the feel
I wonder if that top end over 8K rpm will be available in the other versions of the street triple with the lower spec engines. How will these compare with the MT-09 since they would be closer price wise, that I would like to know.
i'm so glad i'm choosing this one. was on the look for a second hand middleweight allrounder, and was either this or the mt09 sp.
looks like i chose correctly
What are they like for tall people long term? I'm 6 foot 6 and struggling to find a modern 'sport' bike that is fun but not cramped. Been looking at these, mts, z1000 and cb1000
I own a 2016 gsa and looking to add a super naked to the collection.. Mt 10 sp or bmw s1000r...? which is the most brutal nasty wheelie bastard..
1290 superduke!
We're testing the SP in South Africa next week 🇿🇦
Rob Semple go with the Tuono Factory or the SuperDuke if you want that, but if you have to choose between the MT10 and BMW, take the bimmer. its more refined and hair better at everything than yamaha. but both are bloody good.
Or the S1000XR with a full Akra system and all the luggage shite removed. Mental.
Curious about this: When you go to a track launch, does the factory prepare the bikes with different pads and brake fluid to prevent overheating?
Y'all freaking rocked that review, as always.
Actually, any chance on a suspension and breaks brake down? You lot seem to be the only guys to go more into depth about that stuff but it's still all witchcraft and wizardry as to which is better and why.
Guys, be sure to line up a good shoot-out soon with the Z900, ST765, Shiver 900, GSX-S750, MT-09.
Interesting that you say weight in the front makes it feel more confident,
to me atm it seemes the other way round
would be cool if you would share some riding technique and experiences
Good vid and discussion guys. 👍🏽
Quality review lads. Good comedy timing too🖒😂
Great review chaps. How does it compare with the Speed Triple S? Almost the same pricing now...
I will be adding an RS in that sexy matte silver next to my supermoto in the garage this spring.
So Street Triple RS or Speed Triple S for around the same price...... What would be the better choice for strictly road use??
I want a purple one when my '08 Street Triple wears out.
@44teeth any suggestions on a slightly lower bar without adding width to controls? Coming from Daytonas, recreational track day rider
Hi, I know they are slightly different bikes, but how does this compare with the new Ducati Supersport?
Thumbs up for Baron! Get a new Triumph RS 765 and put a Werkes pipe on it! Do it proper mate!
So would you go new Triple or 2nd hand/discounted S1000R
