Pioneer will never beat the integration and features dennon are chucking at the prime 4 series... Nothing on the market comes close 💯🔥
i really appreciated this review, i keep revisiting Denon gear out of optimism and have been reluctant to pay some hard earned money on it as a home setup... but the more recent reviews have been showered with good praise and i really am back on the fence wondering why pioneer can't deliver what we have actually been asking for. I think this review just sold me on a Prime 4 I"m going to have to choose this over the XZ.
Denon was bought out by a different company so now I think we’ll see good things from them in the future from what I’ve heard their knobs and their volume faders are built on better construction than they were seven years ago right now I have the rane four And it definitely gets the job done when it comes to broadcasting my live on air radio show every DJ or in my case dis jockey has to find that perfect controller I used to be a mobile DJ but found my passion in radio. I wish you guys the best definitely find What makes you happy not everybody’s gonna like the same thing all the best.
About the only complaint I could muster for this denon p4+ is the color scheme of the LEDs. It would be nice if you could have red-gold-orange-yellow be a little more featured than the blue/green they're still so in love with. The blue-emphasis is really strenuous for your brain and eyes when using this on a 6 hour set in the dark. You tend to notice this difference when you're getting older (I'm from 1966), it destroys your circadian clock. I always need at least a whole 24 hours to recover after having played with this device for more than ~4 hours after Sun-down. The cheaper the LEDs, the more of the blue spectrum is in there, even in the red ones. Just an FYI for denon, if they're reading..
After all, these LEDs are standard, you can replace them with whatever you want, I'm currently using mcx 8000 and it has normal green, yellow and red LEDs, I'll buy this Denon Prime 4+ soon and I'll just replace it
I really hope Denon made some changes to the way They build their line volume channel faders because my first denon was the mc4000 and wouldn’t you know one channel fader broke off I swear I would never buy denon again so my question to you if I spend over the $2000 price tag for this are there faders and their knobs built with solid construction because if they made their faders anywhere near the way they made them back when they made the MC 4000 then I wouldn’t give you two dollars for Denon let alone 2000 so my question to you is this worth that $2000 price tag?
Pioneer's releasing mediocre and overpriced products in recent years starting with Rekordbox which is a shame, Denon DJ is doing it RIGHT. Can't wait to upgrade my Prime 4 for the new Plus model.
Don’t know.. Prime 4+ or Opus Quad… for wedding DJ. But also want To play at clubs in the Future… Is Engine DJ so Bad that it justifies to pay 800€ more for the Opus Quad?…😅
They still don't have CDJ mode, which I prefer and have used for 30 years. The buttons are still too stiff which takes more force to use. I have had the Prime 4 first batch and to me it was a brick, as in useless. As engine developed I got the Numark Mixstream Pro, and as impressive the features are and how fun it is to play with at home, I've never managed to get my RB USB's to work, and as I still wait for a CDJ mode, it's not an option to bring to a gig. Even that I started my first 10 years on Technics 1210's, I do not scratch, ever. I have no use at all for a vinyl mode, and that is all you get, even if you turn it off. Controller DJ's and scratching DJ's won't have that problem, but I do. Strange really as they favor digital DJing in all other aspects.
Had so many problems with this controller with tracks loading backwards and channels braking down even knobs falling off , the jogs are like ice skates … no thanks Denon
