    I came from a Golf Mk7 to a Kamiq SE-L 1.0 110 bhp. 6 speed manual. I've had the Kamiq for a few Months now, and I'm well pleased. There doesn't feel to be any less interior room than the Golf, and the boot is slightly larger. I did initially have my doubts about the 1.0 litre engine - until I drove it! The 1.0 litre gives an easy cruise on the motorway, with seemingly enough in reserve. I'm 66 years old, so I don't rag it round everywhere. It did take me a couple of weeks to fathom out how to get voice announcements from the sat-nav though! Having owned a Ford Focus 1.0 litre Ecoboost a few years back, I can say this VW 3 cylinder unit seems smoother, quieter, and better on fuel than the Ford Ecoboost was. I just wish I'd ticked the variable boot floor option, because it would have completed the package for me personally. Oh, the LED headlights. I've only driven my Kamiq once at night since I got it, but the sheer power and brightness of the headlights was amazing. I've not had a car with LED headlights before, and these are really excellent.....I try to stick with VW group cars if I can, and this is my 5th Skoda in 20+ years. There is just one area in which the Kamiq has slightly disappointed me, and that is ride quality. My Golf had 16 inch wheels with normal tyres. My Kamiq has 18 inch alloy wheels and low profile Goodyear Eagle tyres. Judged purely on it's own, the Kamiq isn't that bad to ride in, but when you've come from a few years in a Golf Mk7 (which had probably the best ride quality of any car in it's class) the Kamiq falls slightly short here.... Maybe the versions with smaller wheels would be slightly better? I'm sticking with my Kamiq though, as I do like it.

    I have the same car in Race Blue, 1.5 dsg. Hands down best car I’ve ever had, including 2 BMW’s, 3 Audis and other cars inbetween. Enjoy.

      Absolutely nothing wrong with Skoda build quality these days. I did read somewhere that Skoda consistently win the VW group build quality audits, to the annoyance of Audi...... The solution seems obvious enough...try harder Audi. I think this has it's roots back in the late 80's, when VW bought Skoda. It's as if the workforce at Skoda felt they had something to prove. And they're still proving it... Skoda are of course one of the oldest car makers around, producing their first car in 1895.....Ironically, back in the 30's, Skoda was seen and perceived as a prestige brand...... If what I've read turns out to be fact, there is some good stuff to come rom Skoda over the next few years..... BMW? I have a friend who has bought new BMW's for well over 30 years. The number of faults and warranty claims he has made, are nothing short of mind-blowing. He's had new engines, new gearboxes, suspension parts, electrical issues.....

    I am also getting the same exact model soon that I have purchased and I am very much thrilled to drive it. Your video gave me so much confidence that I made the right choice! Thank you!

    For the money, these cars are unbeatable. I purchased a new 1.5 dsg Monte Carlo (which looks great in metallic grey with the black contrast) and love it. 0 to 60 in 7.9 seconds is faster than most cars, the interior is high quality, handling is good and the seats are extremely comfortable and supportive. The LED lights are far better than the ones on my previous car. The general spec on the Monte Carlo is high and all round vision is excellent.
    The bad points, the built in sat nav is an absolute joke for too many reasons to list here
    but I use Google through the infotainment system via my phones Bluetooth instead, the fresh air vents are poor and the weedy single tone horn is a total embarrassment.
    Edit: Make sure that you shop around for the best deals though, because the prices can vary massively like for like.

    I've had the same car since new know at 2000 miles slight noise on full lock the pull in auto from 3-4 is lacking when changing gears nice cruising on motorways and comfy can't fault build quality 4out of 5

      Does the pull in auto improve in sport mode.

      @@ianpalmer125 I had adjustable driving modes on my Golf, and I thought they seemed a bit pointless too. I haven't a clue if my Kamiq SE-L has them. I haven't even looked.

    What is it like the front seating height? Is it easy to get in and out off ?

    • @brythonicman3267
      @brythonicman3267 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly it's very easy to get in and out of due to the ground clearance, as for height, I'm 5'10 and it's fine, but I guess up to 6'2 you'd still be okay.

    Very nice, I’ve got a sel exec 1”5 dsg with a glass roof, and other extras. Currently being made, was expected in 4 weeks, now 8 weeks, due to semiconductor shortage. Waiting impatiently 😟

    Nice colour choice, I’ve had a Kamiq sel , for nearly 3 yrs , it’s a nice comfortable drive around town and pretty comfortable on longer trips .
    Only bug bears I’ve found are,
    Ac/ heating fan control adjustment thru infotainment screen only, you can adjust temp thru manual controls but not fan speed they should have combined function like the karoq
    Dsg box can be hesitant sometimes when slowing/ speeding up at junctions ( common) tho I think this is better when you shut off the annoying start/stop function part from this all good with the Kamiq.
