Watching some videos of his punts in college I figured he'd go no later than the 3rd round. Wish the Broncos had taken him!
He also kicks field goals very well in my dad long ones also. Although I think his film showed that he was just slightly inaccurate on his Pats. But those things can be worked out.

@@blairpenny1526 at that time I posted that statement, there was no publicity of azara's alleged rape case. And my comment was based upon the talent level of the player. Not his character. Because he has nothing like Pat when it comes to his character or Pat McAfee. And you sir are another one of those who believes people are guilty and have to prove themself innocent. I'm not. I'll wait for the evidence to be produced and a case to take its shape before I make an opinion on it. In the case being the evidence.
I once saw Ray Guy kick a punt from his end zone to the other end zone. It went something like 98 yards. He was a great athlete. He could also play defensive back. He wasn't just a punter.
He was also drafted as a pitcher in MLB

In training camp on one of the two days I was there I clocked Matt Araiza with 6 punts out of 10 with 5+ seconds with the best being at 5.5 seconds. I think he is actually getting better or at least more consistent. That 82 yarder yesterday may just be the tip of the iceberg.

Fast forward to preseason game 1 yesterday. Omfg. He had a 82 yard punt my doode. Field position makes no difference when ur kicker is sending the ball into the end zone
your channel literally has punts in it and you didn't recognize that all of those punts were different. He had a couple in the beginning with weird crazy spin that im guessing is really hard to "fair catch" so potential fumbles, the third punt was a perfect spiral, so he was going for max distance and the last one was pure backspin to hopefully land on the five and spin backwards to avoid a touchback. I'm sorry but thats crazy you missed that like somehow he is wildly inconsistent is laughable honestly just look at his game stats

Thank you for sharing, but you cant judge all his punts on hang time. He might be doing different drills that dont require hamgtime like hitting the corner of the 5 yard line. But im rooting for this kid, and thanks for the video

Everyone seems to be seduced by the 82 yarder. It was a monster punt but punting is a tool. Bombs are not always the best tactic. In the case of his 82 yarder, he was punting deep into his own zone so fine. The mistake was that none of his fast guys got down the field fast enough to down it before it went into the endzone. The other punts on this video had spirals that Ariaza kicks on purpose to keep the ball from bounding into the endzone. A punter must be able to make a sideline kick or towering shorter kick or short kick that doesn’t run or a long bomb. They have to make them all. Very few effective punts are bombs and when the situation presents itself returners will get deep so he doesn’t kick over their heads and then they’ll return it. It’s call outkicking your coverage and it’s a big mistake. Punting is a chess match, just like the rest of football. Also, when you have a punter like him, you do NOT want him making tackles. At all. Sort of like quarterbacks. Too valuable to get hurt. Just my 2 cents.
Tyreek hill can't even get down there 80 yards to down it in time. This is 20 yards beyond what you can expect a gunner to be able to help with, that's just the nature of booting it that far.
No one's going to boot it with backspin that far, so more often than not these will roll into the endzone. I can't see a single coach in the NFL upset that they got a touchback starting from their own 18.
@@pabooth88 Agreed. Just saying the obvious, that punting is strategy. If the receiver had set up deeper (which they will now) then a return team will get something going. Teams adapt. This punt was phenomenal. Bills have this weapon now and can use it. But return teams will be ready. The most conservative punt is long hang time that your team can cover, i.e., not outkicking the coverage but still getting decent field position.
Stealing a joke online is understandable, and really isn't a crime anymore. Because you may have been lifted from a guy on Twitter, but that guy stole it for himself from another guy. And before that another guy stole it from another guy, and so on and so on and so on. It's par for the course on the internet.
