At first I thought Joel Hoekstra was the magic ax guy, but it’s Doug Aldrich, who is also formerly of Whitesnake, from 2003 to 2014. Hoekstra joined in 2014 and is still in the band, juggling that gig with his role in the annual Trans-Siberian Orchestra holiday concerts. Wish I’d been there for this set!
Sounds good but man this song has that gnarly overdriven Strat tone and Dougs LP doesn’t give it the finesse it deserves. Glen still blowing minds at almost 70.
Love Glenn, but to me this song always seemed like an odd choice for him to cover, and will always miss Coverdale's low, bluesy gravel. So many other great Mk3/4 songs that feature Glenn's voice better. His versions of Burn, Stormbringer, Getting Tighter, and You Keep on Moving are usually brilliant.
Last month I saw them playing this large festival here in Bulgaria. It amazes me that a band that (co-)headlines such large scale events would even consider playing a venue like the one in this clip.

You seem to be a little confused. Coverdale was the only one that was a nobody when he hooked up with Blackmore. Everybody else had albums and hits before Blackmore.
