Nice blu ray 3D collection. Thanks for the details; Sony not supporting blu ray 3D playback on PSVR2 with its higher resolution was a major feature misstep, and a big reason I didn't step up my PSVR1 to a PSVR2 purchase. PSVR1 and PS4 thankfully still support blu ray 3D playback (and PS3).
@@34nimajneb Interesting idea. I think the blu ray 3D disc MVC coding has to be a function on the PS5 player itself inside the PSVR and the PS5 console to sync with the 3D images, or the signal might just look like a double vision image through a separate remote play function/app, but worth a try. Thanks.
So glad that i found your video. I was close to purchase a PSVR2 and a PS5, but i bought a used PSVR1 instead. Money saved. I was mainly going to use it to watch movies.
Sony dropped "all support" for Blu-ray 3D on the PS 5 hardware platform even though the hardware is easily capable of supporting it , one of the core reasons we Dropped support for the PS 5 platform . they can easily add back support for the format all it would take is a software update .. both the Ps3 and PS4 platforms fully support this Standard...
I'm a software engineer, all up in tech, many tech friends. Since the PS3 launched 3d features, I know exactly 1(one) person who ever bought a 3d movie, and he only bought 2. It sucks, but no one bought them, why support it, let alone 15 years later. I didn't even know 4k3d blurays existed, I thought they were all 1080 and stopped when 4k came into the mainstream.
@@CrimsonDoveKarting They still release 3D Blu-rays every month. I have about 60 3D discs and decided not to purchase PSVR2 until it supports even some kind of 3D video.
@@CrimsonDoveKarting Most people don't got Dolby Atmos surround sound systems but they got that option for the small number of people who got Atmos systems.
yes u can play avatar 3D with the ps VR1, but it is not that good when you look at moving scenes, not good at all. I thought the VR2 was going to be the answer, but it issent apparently, shame
The PSVR 2 is the only headset on the planet that doesn't support 3D movies of any kind, either disc or digital file and there are no plans to support them in the future according to the PlayStation CEO.
Yes , with PSVR 2 Cinema Mode you have HDR 1080p , HDR really adds to a detail on a big VR screen .Keep in mind even thou source is 1080p HDR , that Same source will be upscaled to a PSVR 2 4K screen in HDR. Also Spatial 3D Audio is fully immersive with 3D Pulse Headset .

No the ps5 won't play 3d blu rays. They need a update to support 3d blu rays. The ps4 pro didn't support 3d blu rays when it came out, then they did a update to support it so it can be done
LOL hardly garbage for not supporting a dead technology that nobody wants. You SERIOUSLY want to spend 2.5 to 3 hours inside a headset watching a movie and you can't eat snacks easily or drink anything? Come on, dude. Are you that lonely? As far as GAMES are concerned, PSVR2 has thousands and the best versions of most of them, unless you're running something like a 4090 on a 3k-5k rig. And PS5 Pro is coming later this year, which will solve that tiny 5% of user advantage to PC anyway. So mod support, if you are into that, is the only advantage to PCVR moving forward.
It's a VR display. Made for gaming. If you bought a nice new computer monitor made for gaming I'm sure you'd be pretty upset if it didn't allow you to display other video content.
That's why i'm very disappointed in my psvr 2 because it doesn't support 3d movies or 360 vr movies and that for 600 dollars it's a shame!
I know , same here , let's hope in the future updates .

If you're right, CEO
If you're out of your mind
He's not good enough
I think you're mistaken
It will only play in 1080p on Cinematic mode - but it is still excellent like watching it on a cinema
