I have this keyboard over a week now. I got the barebones version with the screen dial. I had many mechanical keyboards in my life. Mountain is the best of the best. The costumabily and desing along with that premium feeling, makes you feel that it worth the money. In your review you say that a pinging noise is comming and its probably from the keyboard as it must not have any dumbening foam. I can happily inform you that it has 2 foams inside. One at the base and the otherone between the pcb and metal plate. The pinging noise probably its comming from the switches.

I have the ASUS Claymore and it does the same thing. The number pad detaches and can attach to either side. It's a mechanical RGB as well. A bit pricey though.
Finally tempted by a new keyboard! I like the TKL look and space saving, but I do a lot of data entry and do use the numpad for work a lot. Would be nice to have one I can just add in without having some cheap ass USB thing!

Would love to hear the sound of this board with high quality PBT keycaps added, if you have any laying around. Feel like that would complete the board :). Although I'm religious about Varmilo :D
I'm planning to do this! I'll record a typing test with the stock caps, and then I'll record a bit with some higher-quality caps. I've got a fun set from Akko (basically a GMK Laser knockoff) that should do nicely!

Wow, that modular numpad connection seens *incredibly* flimsy. Completely unviable if you don't strictly keep your keyboard in one place on a desk. For someone like me who mostly uses the keyboard on my lap, that thing would fail within a week.

The USB cable extender is a mistake hahahaha! I'm relatively sure Mountain wanted the shorter cable to be an A to C adapter.
