This simply beautiful - peaceful narration, beautifully videotaped scenery, no intrusive or jarring music, and brilliant writing. Good work, nice person!
Nice rig! I have very similar setup. Next up for me is sliders, skids and trimming of front bumper to improve approach angle. I dont think a whole new front bumper is necessary. Will keep this rig forever!
Very nice. I have a 21 and live in Colorado. Was thinking of lifting and wheels - wheels for sure. One thing I have noticed is how the wind gusts can really push the GX around. Probably the reason I have been cautious about lifting it. On the other hand we get enough snow in the mountains that a lift would probably help. I have been putting a lot of miles on mine too. Almost 60K.
Nice! I've got a GX470 2.5 inch Stage 2 Eibach lift. Man I have no problems sending it through rocky/bumpy terrain. My setup is quite a bit different though.
The wifey loves her 2020 GX460. She said that she would get another one in a heartbeat if something ever happened to this one. She got it brand new, only problem was that the water pump went out at 47k miles and alternator at 55k miles. She purchased an extended warranty and it was all covered.
@JimmyReviewsCars One of the reasons I picked up my 460 is the ride and handling because it is primarily used for road trips. That being said, I would like to do some light overlanding since I live in the Southwest and a small lift like yours (along with the other mods) would be beneficial. My question is, how much did your alterations affect the road manners? I have zero interest in spending the money on these mods to get a little better clearance and a little better traction if it is going to result in the GX handling like a Tacoma.
Expect steering to get heavier and for body roll to increase. Not things that bothered me. Ride quality depends on the suspension setup you decide to go with, tire compound, etc.
GX460 fanboy here as well. Mine is a 2021 and I’m in San Antonio. ICON lift with 285/60/20s on Fuel wheels Prinsu roof rack and a front bumper with 12k winch. Let me know when you’re ready to go off roading again 😊.
Dude! I want to do this exact same set up. Thank you so much for giving me exactly what I need. Question 🙋🏽♂️. Did you do a body mount chop ? To fit those 33’s. I read most reviews, didn’t see this mentioned. Thank you.
Nice video and I appreciated your approach to modifying with intended purpose and your comparison to the other vehicles. Mine is entirely stock suspension and non-cut other than stock sized Falken Wildpeak AT3. I’ve been saving videos like this while planning some minimal suspension mods for off roading
Nice looking set up man im also searching to do some suspension upgrades and bigger tires on my gx plan on doing those first then will do bumbers n stuff later
Thanks for the video and info. Very well done. I see you added the KDSS spacer kit. Did you add panhard bar correction kit for the rear? If not, can you tell if the rear axel shifts at all?
Your GX looks good! I also have a friend that has one and it's making me want one. I have a 4Runner ORP right now and I might be selling it for a '17 GX 460 because my wife wants the 3rd row. I'll take the wheels and tires off the 4R and put it on the GX. My question is did you have to do a body mount chop to fit the 285s?
Great video, have a GX Blackline and my other half has a 4Runner TRD ORP. GX is definitely more comfortable and bit more powerful IMHO. These cars will last a long time, my 04 GX 470 is approaching 300K miles
Can't find any Blacklines, are they now sold out? We bought a green 22 BL. Today we decided buy a 23 and keep the 22. Not to drive but as insurance in case the 22 is wrecked. My preference would be another Green BL but I can't find any BL.
@@mt00a I sat in a 22 570 and felt it was too big to navigate in tight parking. The GX is actually smaller than the RX, by inches but it is smaller in both length and width, which makes it easier to drive. The GX is very tall and that gives the impression of being very big. I'm still likely to get the 2nd GX a 23, even if I can only get a non-BL.
The ride is a bit firmer, but it handles impacts and bumps far better than the stock setup ever could. Regardless of suspension, larger tires are always going to smoothen out small bumps on any vehicle. Very happy with the 5100s other than their high speed performance.
great video bro your trip looked fun. I daily a '23 Nori green GX Black Line and also love it. Your suspension setup looks great. Any issues with rubbing?
I have a white 2022 GX460 with lift and 275/70R17 Falken Wildpeak tires on Raceline wheels. I have taken it off road a number of times and it always impresses me with its capabilities but when returning to the pavement it always gives a nice smooth, comfortable and luxurious ride, which is one of the reasons why I bought it. I had a reservation for a Bronco but after spending a weekend with one (thanks Turo) I canceled the reservation. Main reason were complaints about the hard top creaking and squeaking, that would drive me nuts and reliability issues. Plus, its just not as nice as the Lexus. Let's face it, we spend most of our time driving on paved roads and the Lexus excels at this while being extremely capable off road. The Bronco I rented had the soft top which is just a really poor design. I can't believe Ford even produced such a garbage top. You can put your hand through the sides of the top and into the cab and wind lifts it on the freeway if you get a stiff cross wind plus the rear doesn't open. It lifts up about 15 degrees but there is no way to prop it up to access stuff in the back. Then there are the saggy rear windows that they all seem to have. It's a really horrible design. Quite frankly, I don't want a top or doors that comes off. Most of the time it is either too hot or too cold for driving with the top off not to mention skin cancer. If Ford offered the Bronco with a non-removable hard top and more upscale trim like the Mercedes G-Wagon I might consider it because they are extremely good off-road but it is just too compromised on the road to be a daily driver for me.
I agree, the GX460 is one of the most under-rated vehicle. I honestly prefer this 2nd Gen GX over the newly released 3rd Gen. Lastly, i Love the Tire/Wheel Combo - looks awesome. I wish you would have told us about the gas mileage consumption with these wheels and suspension

Good work, nice person!
Great review and great looking rig. Toyota FTW!
You love to see a tasteful off-road setup, keep it up Jimmy!
Great video. I am planning lifting my 08 gx470 with a few other modifications. Cant wait!! Your GX looks awesome. Thanks for sharing this video.
Nice rig! I have very similar setup. Next up for me is sliders, skids and trimming of front bumper to improve approach angle. I dont think a whole new front bumper is necessary. Will keep this rig forever!
be careful trimming the front bumper it may affect the aerodynamics heavily
hi bro. can you tell the wheels, tire size and what suspension you used

Great video mate, love the Lexus content!

Is your gx still as comfortable to drive w the stage 2 kit

Great job keep up the good work
Just found your channel. Nice job man and loving that GX
Nice GX.
What trails are those in the Hill County?
Would you mind sharing the exact parts/part numbers you used for the suspension? This is exactly what I'm looking for! Great job, it looks awesome!
I want this, but the Nori Green with Bronze wheels

Rig looks so good
Excellent review
Nice rig, apruvd! 👍
Consider chip-tune for the engine though and an aftermarket cold air intake 😉
Where this chip tuner you speak of?
Loved the video man. Any new upgrades since? Any plans to make a detail about the lift and tire wheel setup?

You absolutely have to do a BMC if you're putting on tires larger than 31.5". This is common knowledge among lifted GX owners.
Driving in the dirt up a hill so cool. Lol
Do you put regular (87) gas in it ?
Any BMC required for the 285s? What fender mods did you have to do?

Planning to do the same! How are the falkens performing for you? Road noise, mpg ?
I’m actually thinking about going one inch higher
Great review
They sell all the Prado front end parts as a kit & would be killer on that lifted 👍
Black Blackline fam 🖤
Nice looking set up man im also searching to do some suspension upgrades and bigger tires on my gx plan on doing those first then will do bumbers n stuff later
Great Wheels!!
Wow nice rig bro
Sick!! Great build!!! What is your mpg's after your mods? Thank you!😎
IDK if missed it in the video, but how is the MPG with the new lift and tires
MPG for sure decreased. Some trips I can average as high as 18 mpg but on Texas highways it’s a struggle just to get 15 mpg
Thanks for the video and info. Very well done. I see you added the KDSS spacer kit. Did you add panhard bar correction kit for the rear? If not, can you tell if the rear axel shifts at all?

Were you able to fit a matching spare in the spare tire well? Did the lift impact the parking/ lane sensors?
Great rig. Did you get the offroad package with MTS?
Great video, have a GX Blackline and my other half has a 4Runner TRD ORP. GX is definitely more comfortable and bit more powerful IMHO. These cars will last a long time, my 04 GX 470 is approaching 300K miles
Is your spare tire the same as the one on the car and does it fit under with the hitch?
How much did this setup run you?
What did that road trip cost you, fuel wise?
For higher off pavement speeds you need to invest in better suspension. I've chosen Dobinsons MRAs for my GX and this thing takes jumps like Raptor
How many inch is that lift?
Nice setup. I'm also looking for a similar setup as yours. How much gas mileage has been affected on your setup?
How much did it cost all in for the mods?
Nice build. I live in DFW, what shop would you recommend for the upgrades?
Duggy’s Garage if you can make it to Houston!
Thanks 🙏🏾
Are these 33s?
Basically
How do you carry full size spare? Or are you still using the OEM spare? The idea of a rear mounted spare tire carrier bugs me

The GX wont break down. If you have the money to spend then buy a used LX570 to complete the ultimate luxurious off-road set.

Sweet video man. I have a ‘23 and am planning on a lift in the coming future. How many inches?
Thanks! 2.5 inches
@@JimmyReviewsCars no diff drop needed?
Which trim level you had before lift?
Black Line
Why did you decided to go with your suspension set up? And not ironman cell foam pro or old man emu set up ? Was it the cost or ?
All are great setups, but my local shop that had built other GXs like mine recommended the Bilsteins. So far, I’ve been happy with it.
Any chance of a year review?
Coming soon!
@@JimmyReviewsCars Wasup, How's that review coming?
great video bro your trip looked fun. I daily a '23 Nori green GX Black Line and also love it. Your suspension setup looks great. Any issues with rubbing?
No issues so far!
if you take the back seats how, how much sleeping room do you have back there?
Assuming you took the seats out, I think you would be able to manage about six feet out of a flat sleeping platform.
👍🏼
Nice.
What mpg where you getting before modes and after?
Does it really matter? If it does this GX isn't for you goofy.
@@OneFlewOver1776 rofl.. always expect the worse, i.e. 10mpg..
I expect all my cars to give 10-12 mpg haha!

Great review 👏
I'm looking forward to GX550 Premium+ or Luxury.
Did you have to modify/cut the fender to fit those tires?
Just the fender liner, nothing on the body panel
Mpg before and after?
Dropped around 1 or 2 mpg
What type of gas do u use?
Lexus recommends 91 octane or higher so I typically go with that
@@JimmyReviewsCars it says 91 or higher

Have a 2016 with close to the same mods. I went from an average of 18mpg to 14mpg.
i will never buy any land cruiser with a modified suspension. original setup with original parts is the best.
I only lifted the GX for more clearance, also kept KDSS as it was intended using spacers for it
OK Boomer 😂
